If you don’t know what I’m referring to. In Pokémon masters, You can have an interaction with Sygna suit Lance where he confirms that just because a Pokémon isn’t dragon type doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s not a dragon, So Charizard, Gyrados, Lugia, Ext. While not being dragon types, They are indeed dragons
Also gyardos is based on a dragon\fish in a story
@@El_Gremlin25 Aerodactyl has some inspiration off of the wyvern too which is a western dragon. It's so glaringly obvious, but you miss it bc you lean more towards dinosaur. I actually learned about the Gyarados thing bc of One Piece. And then there's puff the magic dragon Dragonite

I've had Gengar on my team in Leaf Green when I was like 11 and I did not know Gengar was Poison type until a few weeks ago. I'm 26. Still don't know why a ghost is a Poison type

@@ZhadTheRad It is, and even sounding it it out doesn't make sense. It's only when you type it out, Snow, Relax, and take the first of the first and last of the last, Sno-Lax, you get Snolax, and then add an R for Snorlax.
Of course, that IS assuming you use the word 'Snow', and not 'Snowflake', 'Ice', 'Winter', 'Frost' or MANY other words to describe that Emoji

04:00, 05:18 - "Skull on crossbones" is a universal symbol for POISON.
So that emoji is there because those are Poison Type Pokemon.
Fun fact: gyarados is based of a story which, to sum up easily, is about a fish becoming a dragon because it leaped into the air high enough
ive always heard it was for the fish swimming up a waterfall.
Sometimes the emojis straight up just "show the names" because the makers actually had access to fitting emojis to spell out them. They obviously started with a name and then tried, by using just a bunch of emojis, to come up with the most effective way to communicate it. They might even have pulled names from a random pool and didn't specifically hand-pick them, which explains why they had to default to just show the colour grey for "Greninja". (Though frog and ninja would probably have worked.)

I had to see it two Times but I got it now. The first Snorlax is a pun. Sno is from Snow and Lax is from Relax.
They are all puns like Magik Karp or Horse Sea, and I love it.
I think it was supposed to be snow-relax. It explains where the r comes from
I do also respect how, clearly, they got feedback on “That was BS for Snorlax, you should have done something better” and “There were way too many gen 1 Pokémon; literally the only one that wasn’t gen 1 was the most popular Pokémon of all time,” and... they listened. Admittedly, it’s still really overprocessed, but they did listen to the feedback they received and added more non-gen-1 Pokemon and made something better for Snorlax.

"Isn't a dragon" ...Gyarados= a Chinese Dragon in design like the emoji shown
"Snorlax".... 1st time = snow + relax. 2nd time (Snorlax is a cat, btw) a sleeping bear, I feel cubchoo would have worked better.
"Darkrai isn't a ghost" = correct, the typing is dark, however in lore Darkrai is a malevolent spirit that haunts dreams, aka a ghost.
About the second snorlax one: In what way is Snorlax a bear?! I've never really thought on what animal it would be (though maybe it isn't since eevee isn't based on any real creature) but I can say bear isn't my first guess

I think you get a pass on ones that arent name ones if they are in the same evolutionary line (like pikachu could be raichu, gengar could be haunter or gastly, arbok can be ekans, etc.)
For the Dragonite in the second video i would have said Hydreigon because of his 3 heads and the Tri Attack moves personnaly
