Great video @digitaltrends ! I really enjoyed it. I'm looking for an OLED 55' tv. Is there one available to North America that supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision?
TV reviews need to start including a dark content score. They can use scenes from House of The Unwatchable Darkness… err… Dragon. Seriously, though, how it handles dark scenes in HDR content is almost the only score I care about these days.
I own the 2020 Vizio P-series 85” and got it in early 2021 on sale for $2500 down from $3500 (Amazon),… I love it and am glad I watched your BEAST MODE video, Caleb. It helped me get the right TV at the perfect time!
This review was a Thriller!! I had the Vizio M series (I think) & it was pretty good. First tv over 50” for me so I was happy. I hope they improve their quality.
Purchased this tv in both 65 and 75. The 65 was so clear, the colors so bright, and the processor very fast. Seriously the best buy out there in 65 inch TVs. Unreal. I strongly recommend buying. The 75 has very vibrant colors as well just not quite as sharp. Deepest blacks on a midrange TV with the brightest screen, just Amazing.
Just a sidebar comment. I’ve always been a huge fan of your content. You have given some incredible insight on how I can pick the right TV fand I’ll always be thankful to you guys for it. But seeing King Michael’s album in the bokeh during this video warmed my heart and appreciation for you guys. Thank you for all that you do Caleb. I’ll be “rocking with you” for quite some time.
My first flatscreen HDTV was a 42" Vizio. I bought it on Black Friday in 2007. It replaced a hefty Sony Tinitron XBR that must've weighed 300 lbs. I was a Vizio fan for a long time, until the competition got better and my buying power improved. Now I'm almost exclusively in the Sony ecosystem.
Their Quantum X was amazing if you got one with no problems. You could get like 75 inch for sub 2k usd with decent game mode 120hz panel. But I miss my old plasma Vizio it was so nice and was an absolute tank of a tv lol
Hey Caleb, I have a Vizio P-Series Quantum X, P85QX-H1 in my basement and I’ve had it for over 3 years now. I really like the TV and I was thinking I heard you recommend using this TV on the calibrated dark picture settings. Do you feel like that is still the best picture setting to use out of the box because where I live there are no pro calibrators to come dial it in for me. Thanks! Really like the content you put out.
I'm so glad I made the right call, I was going to wait for this review and maybe give Vizio one last shot because I used to really love Vizio but right before Christmas ended up purchasing a Hisense U8K and it's a beast compared to the Vizio's it just about every aspect.
Just bought the 65 inch version and all of the HDMI Ports do support 120hz at 4k not just the one that has it listed I checked with both the TV and my Console and they both said they were running at 120hz and I love it so much!
Vizio did their thing with this TV I brought it and I got a great one and it's amazing don't let reviews change your mind. I've had it for 5 days so far and it has gotten major updates since this review
Good luck. It's those forced updates that took my Vizio from great to pretty close to unusable. I hope you have better luck with them! I'll never give vizio any business again.
Hi Caleb, is there a way to calibrate the colors of the TV, for example with the ColorChecker device? Or is it only for monitors and laptop screens? Is there a way to calibrate the colors of my TV economically? Or can it only be done with a professional probe and Calman software?
"The folks at Vizio have been wonderful to work with throughout this entire process..." That's lovely. Is that what TV reviewing is now - a hand-in-hand "process" with the manufacturer? Will the same folks be willing to spend the same amount of time being in direct contact with each and every customer? Because from my one experience with them - yes, a data set of N1 - it was a totally crap experience. Never could actually speak with anyone from Visio - just a gig worker who showed up in his wife's mom van with a used warranty replacement TV that was more broken than the one it was supposed to replace. PM'd Vizio again and was told too bad, I had my one shot. Would have loved to have had a "wonderful working relationship throughout the process" with them. Oh well.
Still rocking the ST50 here. Looks amazing still. Tweeked the settings and it looks better than before. My first flat screen was an LG CRT if you can call it a flat screen, way back before it was a known brand. The tube went on it in less than 6 months, but the two year warranty got it fixed for me. Later I had problems with TWO LG cell phones. Really hard to trust the brand, IMO.
I had bought the Vizio P series in 2016 which I loved at first but around 1.5 years later local dimming broke and they told me to buy a new TV. I told them I would never buy another Vizio again with Customer Service like that.
Yes ,same here….had a PQX ,broke 3 years later, thank God I bought from Costco as the warranty is top notch and now I have a beautiful Sony oled….I’ll never buy another vizio ,the quality just is not there and now China mart owns them, cough cough!!!!
Me too. My Vizio went from great to awful via the forced updates. I also will not do business with Vizio again. I don't want my products to lose functionality right when I walk out the door.
I have an original Vizio 42-inch from 2005, which is still going strong!! On the flip side, my latest Vizio P-Series Quantum 65" died one month after the one-year warranty expired! Upon research, I found that those models are known for display issues, which is how mine died! It is and was my last Vizio! I am now onto an LG C-1 that is still going strong!
The 65” was going for $599 during the holidays and it looked so good in the store. But customer reviews aligned with Thriller Caleb’s assessment, not could for dark movies or shows. Glad I got an LG instead.
I got the 50" Vizio MQ last year because it had the 240Hz PC gaming feature, which I don't do too often, but wanted to have it just in case. I haven't had any issues with the picture quality or the 120Hz performance for 4K gaming on my PS5. At least, none that are apparent to a casual like myself. My first non-CRT TV was a 32" Vizio in 2011 and I haven't had a Vizio since I replaced it in 2012, so it feels good to have one again.
Just wondering why you’re using a window instead of full field as your test pattern (seeing it isn’t an OLED ) and do you profile your C-6 with a spectro before calibration ?
I think once companies got into smart Tvs things went down hill. I have an Vizio Gallevia that I still use as a computer monitor as a second TV and after 17 years of being on every day for 16 yrs and 9 months it still works well with only a remote issue. You don't get anything for value tvs today.
Hello! Please advise me the best Mini-Led TV with excellent picture quality, contrast and sound? I am considering the brand Sony, LG, Samsung, some of them are the best models.
I’m glade I went with my gut and just got the q7. After a proper calibration the tv looks great and man the blacks.. This is my first tv with local dimming. My tv before the q7 was a Sony x800d, it had great color but compared to the newer q7 its picture is so dim and the hdr definitely washed the picture out.
Still on the fence about buying the Q7, but it’s most likely going to be my next TV. Coming from an older 1080p Samsung which was great. Then a horrible Element brand TV I got for free after my cat accidentally hit the screen on the Samsung. Any other things you might mention after owning the Q7? Do you do any gaming on it?
@@seannnn_Yeah, I primarily got it for gaming. Games look and run great on it. The tv does need to be calibrated out the box though. I noticed picture was a lot more pink out the box. If you’re looking for either of them, i got mine on amazon. Both are in stock. The main reason I went with the q7 over the 6 is the local dimming, the q6 doesn’t have it.
@@crazeeeavery4203 ahhhh that’s good to know. I thought it also had local dimming. Have you tried the dolby vision during gaming? If so how is it? I know the Q6 caps at 60hz when turned on. If anything is there any way you can send me those settings or a link to them. I forsure plan on getting the Q7 this week if not next.
I've moved past budget oriented TV's at this point, so wasn't interested before Walmart got involved, now it's a straight run away for me. I have a question, what TV maker is Amazon going to buy mow? You know they aren't going to let Walmart be alone in TV hardware ownership.
I had a hdmi port to go bad on my 65q9j01 vizio tv and vizio replaced the main board, was still under warranty, but now the super resolution is greyed out. Do you know a way to access it.
I have bought several Vizio TV's. My favorite is my Vizio OLED. It is a phenomenal TV. I got a great deal on it. Also, I bought it after all the corrections to the firmware were available. Then, it upgraded to os system to the new one, which is another big plus!
Love your reviews, but you need to take a stance and give negative reviews when they're warranted. "I'm not saying don't buy it, but there's a better option at the same price". Then why aren't you saying "don't buy it"?
I used to gush about Vizio. I did have a Quantum X. But after three different Vizio's around my home, that had non-stop small issues and all completely died within three years, I will not buy them again.
I have a Vizio from 2010 and it still works great. Why so much hate? No way in the world people can tell a big difference in picture quality nowadays. Stop lying its based off of the brand you like.
Vizio Oled owner here 3 years strong and what a panel and screen for the price! Not to mention the features for half the price of its competitors, it’s a shame Vizio pulled out of the premium category…
@@nitmare64 I can google anything about the tv. Not the point, I wanted to leave feedback. This tv is actually amazing if you are using it mostly for gaming. Should’ve been mentioned in the review.
I remember when I got my first flatscreen TV back in 2008, it was a dumb TV 47 inches Vizio what all the bells and whistles and it had 240 motion. And guess what I paid a small fortune for it. $1200 at BJ’s. But it’s in my man cave downstairs and still workswith no problem and the remote is better than most TVs today
I felt I was listening to you constantly forgiving the TV for sub-par performance as well as trying to push it over the finish line. Certainly not "Comeback" level. That is very sad as I like Vizio too being that they are in my backyard here in So Cal. I guess we'll see how they do moving forward now that Walmart has purchased them... I'm rooting for them, especially in the soundbar segment.
we have loved our 2019 Vizio. It’s been great for movies and games. last couple of months big black blobs appearing - so it’s time for new one. vizio still gets my vote over inflated set prices of sony and samsung.
I understand your video and comparing Vizio to others models and all that but Vizio is still a great TV maker and has been for years here in America it won't break as easy as heisense and looks way better than Tcl comparing it to Sony lg or Samsung isn't really fair but I understand why you do it. Overall liked your video and views but everyone is entitled to like what they like. And I think Vizio is just fine.
My vizio M series was great the colors were great after I tweaked them. However, after the “forced” update I can’t really get my colors “great” again only “good enough”. I will be trying another brand once I had enough of this tv.
Not mentioned in the review - Quantum Pro viewing angle picture quality is far superior to the Hisense U7K. This metric is very high in importance for my room layout.
It’s crazy that I have my original 42 inch Vizio and it’s been like at least 13/14 years now issues I have a 55 one I bought 2 years ago and the leds have already gone bad 🤦🏽
I'm done with Vizeo, I had P series it lasted 14 months and burn out on the screen. Had Costco 4 year Allstate and got a new Samsung pro. Now I have the best.
i wish you could make a video for EUROPE.. currently looking to buy a 65-75" tv, saw the TCL QM8. Turns out europe model sucks. Saw the Hisense U8K, turns out Europe model suxx.... what a bummer.
I’m considering buying this TV because it is good for bright rooms (semi-gloss so low reflection) and has wide viewing angles. Few TVs have both. The Sony XR A80L OLED has both but is double the cost and not as bright. If anyone has a suggestion of one that has both, let me know.
2019 was the last good line of Vizio tvs in my opinion the "G" line , i tried getting the M55G8 but due to vizios poor quality control it never worked out , shame , the M8 and P series of 2019 was their last good sets
I'm soured on Vizio now. I have two of them currently. The 2020 P series is in my living room. It's a good tv when it's working correctly. But even after the various firmware updates it's still very buggy and my wife gets tired of me fussing lol. Then I have the 2019 M series in my bedroom. That one works great for the most part but of course it's considerably dimmer than the P series but it's ok since we watch it going to sleep most of the time. The bugs of my P series tho irks my soul especially when I'm gaming it cuts off out of the blue or changes my configurations at random. From reviews I saw I wasn't the only one having these problems with the P series but it just bugs me that I paid a lot for that P series in 2020. No more Vizios for me.
I bought into Vizio during the height of their P-series sets when they were giving insane visual quality for a midrange price point. Both sets started randomly rebooting around the second year and one died completely soon after that. I replaced the board in that one two years ago and it just died again. The other set still randomly reboots but now has weird lines that make the TV look interlaced, so I'm sure it's on the way out. These problems were apparently pretty common, which created a big secondary market for the mainboards on eBay. I would never recommend a Vizio again. Just got an 85" TCL QM8 and said goodbye to the Vizios. Fingers crossed.
Mine was Zenith 27 Big Back Samsung plasma first flat screen 50 in 720 p got stolen then a Vizo 37 1080 p in LCD and Switch to LG tv First. 55in 1080 p Another one 49 in Bedroom Went out after 6 years love that tv i Got a TCL 50 in for The Bedroom 2021 4k and now first 65 in UHD 4k tv 2023 Now i want a 75 in QNED tv LG 2024 im being to Greedy ?
I bought a d70 back in 2018. For whatever reason.. The interface and internet has gotten worse recently. The picture looks decent. I dont get to watch movies. Often with full dark ans surround anyways. I am tired of the laggy interface and after a month of being on it needs to be rebooted. So i am looking for another tv. This model is the cheapest At moment. I did have to exchange a tv under warranty and they handled it well. I may look for next model up.
If you have the money to spend, buy an OLED. Best decision I made. It's mind boggling how much of a better difference an OLED panel is, no matter the brand. Sony, Samsung or LG...go with a newer OLED and you won't need another TV for 10+ years (unless you're going to run it 24/7 obviously). If you want cheap, then a TCL is better than this Vizio. If you like to game though, this Vizio is the best you can get for the price because of the 120hz. Other brands don't offer the 120hz refresh rate at this price yet.
Stay away from VIZIO. I had their quantum and it barely lasted 2-3 years. Trust me, adding the word "pro" to the model will not change their awful reliability.
After selling my Vizio P Series to a friend and another friend I recommended the P series and both of those TV dying within 3 years of purchasing and I cannot recommend anyone buy a Vizio TV since it seems quality isn't there.
I like sony expensive but good almost in every way, my old sony 3D still have beautiful pictures, my new sony OLED is very nice , i almost buy LG evo 3 that is good too
My 2019 Vizio P series quantum is pretty amazing as a display but it won’t connect to the internet anymore which doesn’t bother me because I use Roku ultra… unless they make a comeback my next tv one day will be the successor to the Sony x95L which cost an arm and a leg.
I just curbed a Vizio that lasted only 3 years before it started to fail all around. Terrible software. Terrible build. I’d love to see you do some long term reviews. Almost all TVs are good in some respect out the box. But give it time and you get to see how they handle life. I replaced it with a hisense U7K after having bought two cheaper hisense TVs and I’m very happy with it. I’ll stick with googleTV for onboard software for now. Always have an appleTV connected because it’s just a better experience.
Make sure to also watch Caleb's take on why Walmart really bought Vizio: ruclips.net/video/Ugc2gujB2Sg/видео.html
Doesn’t matter how good the screen is. I won’t buy it b/c of the Walmart-Vizio connection…for the reasons you state in your earlier video.
This TV is obviously crap, how hard is it for Caleb to say I dont recomend it instead of going around corners.

That is very sad as I like Vizio too being that they are in my backyard here in So Cal. I guess we'll see how they do moving forward now that Walmart has purchased them... I'm rooting for them, especially in the soundbar segment.
How does this compare to the TCL Q7?
we have loved our 2019 Vizio. It’s been great for movies and games. last couple of months big black blobs appearing - so it’s time for new one. vizio still gets my vote over inflated set prices of sony and samsung.
Wow you game on a 60hz panel? Oh boy...Once you use this TV and experiencd 120hz, you'll wonder why you ever had anything less.
@@wombat5252 excellent.
I think Vizio makes great TVs. It’s in my personal top 5. & personal go to.
didn't Vizio sell out to Walmart?
My vizio M series was great the colors were great after I tweaked them. However, after the “forced” update I can’t really get my colors “great” again only “good enough”. I will be trying another brand once I had enough of this tv.
Why are you comparing the vizio a ips panel tv against tcl and Hisense va panel tvs? Shouldn't you compare the vizio to other ips panel tv?
Not mentioned in the review - Quantum Pro viewing angle picture quality is far superior to the Hisense U7K.
This metric is very high in importance for my room layout.
It’s crazy that I have my original 42 inch Vizio and it’s been like at least 13/14 years now issues I have a 55 one I bought 2 years ago and the leds have already gone bad 🤦🏽
Whyd they stop making 65 inch mqx tvs? That one was better than this right.
Thanks for the interesting review! Thriller!!
I'm done with Vizeo, I had P series it lasted 14 months and burn out on the screen. Had Costco 4 year Allstate and got a new Samsung pro. Now I have the best.
The d and p are known for problems. The v and m series are better.
Ive been looking at the 50" for a PC monitor...not the best, but definitely not the worst.
i wish you could make a video for EUROPE.. currently looking to buy a 65-75" tv, saw the TCL QM8. Turns out europe model sucks. Saw the Hisense U8K, turns out Europe model suxx.... what a bummer.
Shout out for Mr Jackson in the background !!! 👏
"The Expanse" showed how bad the local dimming was on my LG 55SM9800. Hence, I upgraded to a U8K
wow Vizio really fell off, I have the 2019 P Series Quantum X and it’s still great
Me too. I use it with a Nvidia Shield TV and not the Vizio home screen.
Same I use my vizio with the Shield and it really clears up everything.
You're confused.
This isn't a statement line product, this is a value line product. The Q series is the top of the line now.
You confused buddy. I review my own products on my channel.
I have the OLED and love it.
but, what will Walmart's purchase do to Visio.
whoa, I had that exact TV as well for my first!
I’m considering buying this TV because it is good for bright rooms (semi-gloss so low reflection) and has wide viewing angles. Few TVs have both. The Sony XR A80L OLED has both but is double the cost and not as bright. If anyone has a suggestion of one that has both, let me know.
16:15 I don't know if you guys know this but this Guy Caleb did a video on Walmart buying Vizio 😅 you all should watch it
I just heard Walmart just bought them out and now own Vizio
The name of the music in the beginning please????🙏
Have 2 Vizio and they are junk…..will never buy the brand again. My Samsung smokes both of them.
I had a Vizio once, for like 2 weeks.
Quality was so bad. The bezel was pulling away from the screen.
But wait, that's a ZT60, not a ST60, right? Awesome TV, btw.
2019 was the last good line of Vizio tvs in my opinion the "G" line , i tried getting the M55G8 but due to vizios poor quality control it never worked out , shame , the M8 and P series of 2019 was their last good sets
I have what is likely a dumb question: Are there any 4K TVs out there that are not "smart?"
I guess I got lucky with 2016 P-Series, it's been going strong for nearly 8 years now.
The P Quantum X were amazing tvs. Idk why they are calling these the best now when they aren't on the same level.
Well you made another mistake buying a TCL. I hope it lasts longer than the Vizio.
@@coldcutcombo4704 I got a 5 year warranty just in case. But so far, it's a fantastic TV. No one I know who has a TCL has had one die yet.
Can you look at LG QNED 90 T
This model is the cheapest
At moment.
Lol 😂. Mine works great still
After selling my Vizio P Series to a friend and another friend I recommended the P series and both of those TV dying within 3 years of purchasing and I cannot recommend anyone buy a Vizio TV since it seems quality isn't there.
I like sony expensive but good almost in every way, my old sony 3D still have beautiful pictures, my new sony OLED is very nice , i almost buy LG evo 3 that is good too
Vizio’s performance with low quality content has been an issue from the very beginning. At least Hisense is making progress.
My 2019 Vizio P series quantum is pretty amazing as a display but it won’t connect to the internet anymore which doesn’t bother me because I use Roku ultra… unless they make a comeback my next tv one day will be the successor to the Sony x95L which cost an arm and a leg.
It should bother you since you won’t get software updates.
@digitaltrends, So in other words, I need to just keep my Quantum PX65-G1.
Got a vizio quantum M series 3 years ago. Lasted less than 2 years and the local dimming died. Vizio, never again!
Bong Rips for Nit Nerds!
I had two Vizio TVs die on me in 3 years. I’m done with them and on to Hisense or TCL.
Get Hisense since I heard that TCL has a higher recalls then Hisense.
The best Vizio Tv is the H1 OLED. It’s not even close.
Watch something on HDR on a no HDR TV. The picture looks worser with it on, then it does off.
