- Bike-sharing is this year’s hottest tech trend in China. During our recent TechCrunch China event in Shenzhen last month, we took time out to get to know Mobike, one of the leading bike on-demand companies, and the bicycles it offers to consumers.

This has become a disaster here. These things make the roads so much more dangerous. They are parked on the side of the road and block the roads and bike lanes. They also collect in areas and pile up like trash. This sounded like a good idea, but has made living in the city much more difficult

Just to have a polite debate. Why do you feel that way ?! There is a lot of research that until the baby is born, the mental states of the mother do have an effect on the mind and body of the baby. More stress and pollution the mother goes through, it does impact the child. They set up around 20 of these bikes on the high street outside where I work...within a week, most of them have been stolen
the reason there's bike stations is to control the amount of bikes in an area. people simply leaving bikes wherever they please will cause congestion problems.

Hi TechCrunch, I am a bit confused with the tracking system here, can you please clarify whether the bike has a GPS system (like a chip) embedded or if the app simply storages the location where the QR code was last scanned.
They save and storage everything where you go where you eat where you lice track that with the app as well and sell it to google can read there datadiscription

RAYDi8OR dude on Friday I was stoped by 2 chavs they stank of weed and grabbed me by the shirt they were age 14 to 15 shorter than me and beside them there was a bike on the ground that looked like the bike in the video and then 3 more chavs come around the corner of the house building all dressed in black and two of them in masks riding the bikes surrounding me and shit they were probably 17 18 or 19 but anyways I was like shit I had 1000 thoughts going through my head at the same time I was just trying to get out of their asap whiles I was trying to get out they grabbed my earphones so I grabbed them back they ribbed my I'd card and it was on the ground I picked it up but then they were like beating me up for 5 seconds blocking all the hits and then I lifted up my fits and one of them said okay leave him like dude Manchester is becoming more of a shithole nowadays
How much to get a bike sharing program started up here on Mars. I live near Cydonia and the face on Mars. Please help us here to many walks, everything would be much better if we had bikes. Already some man named Elon Musk has just recently sent a car to us with a driver in the seat as well. We should get car in a few months and at least we will have our first car up here on Mars.

Since this video, a bunch of imitators came along and exploited this idea. Now china has an overabundance of bikes piled up in parking lots not being used. Just Google China sharing bike dump and you will see there's thosands upon thousands of bikes of all colors all over the place. The ones that are being used tend to be left in areas that are not designed for bikes to be parked. It really got out of hand.
They need to come with helmets supplied. Plenty of these bikes available around Darling Harbour Sydney but no helmets. So you either need to come prepared and bring your own helmet or risk getting a huge fine if caught riding without helmet.
