I plan to reel mow in the future with a gas powered reel. I tried it it with the manual it looks nice and clean. But with the hot days I can’t do it pushing it in the hot summer. Hopeful in the future I’ll be able to get one.
I reel mow my STA at 2" and I love how it looks. I use the Fiskars StaySharp 18" Reel Mower, its much easier to push around than the one you're using. Check out the Fiskars and let me know what you think.
Reel mowing is addicting. I believe there is someone who reels mows st Aug and looks great. Takes a lot of commitment though. Give it a go, you just might like it.

I have a mix of St Augustine and Bermuda, so I need to find a medium mowing height which both grasses can tolerate.
I’m guessing you’re mowing at roughly 1 1/2-2 inches?

After having a self propelled mower for years. Using my own strength legs and arms to push this thing around was a workout.
