God I love Heracles. In a game that always goes the extra mile innovating the stories and designs of the classical heroes and gods its kinda refreshing they went the opposite way with Heracles by making him exactly how you would imagine him: this huge, royal and unopossable monster of a man who will obliterate anything in his path. No quirky personality, no talking lion's skin or unorthodox weapons. Just an unmatched ability for violence.
It's great because it's exactly what you'd hope for, with the added sauce of "It's a Supergiant game so there's definitely *more* going on under the surface." And there definitely is more to him, but none of that invalidates what you see: A man for whom the term "Grim Determination" is the understatement of the century.
I was kind of worried they would make Heracles look as he usually is presented in other media. Like the Records of Ragnarok one. I love that they decided to make him this immense, monstrous killing machine!
"You're the help? Oh, that's rich. Friendly word of advice, *sister*; stay out my bloody way, else you're liable to get hurt. Now scoot, and tell whomever sent you that I work alone."
The way he just fucking obliterated the enemy in front of me when he arrived basically jumpscared me lol That *4000!* was intimidating to say the least!
It only took me 20 or so topside attempts to learn he's coming if there's an enemy just beside the entrance to a location (that's 20 or so jumpscares smh)
At 1:18 I heard a FUCKIN LION ROAR. TO REFERENCE THE NEMEAN LION, DARREN "THE GOAT" KORB USED A LION ROAR IN THIS OST. THIS GAME IS INSAAAAANEEEEE 🗣️🗣️❗❗❗❗❗
@gavo7911 it's far fetched, sure, but heracles hasn't been on best of terms with the olympians. (Hera induced a sudden rage in him that made him kill his wife and children whom he loved...) So you and the olympians, especially hera working on the same side might not make heracles any happier. If you die on the same screen as heracles, his portrait shows up on your death screen (like chronos' portrait sometimes does). On top of that his OST sounds quite menacing to me. I'm not very sure of this prediction ofcourse, but I think there is a chance he'd be a (mini)boss.
@@jackalcoyote8777I think they might have been confused and thought it was Cerberus' theme, I definitely thought that at first because of the name of the song

He still has cool details, like how his lion pelt is indistinguishable from his normal hair.

The sheer fear when this hit for the first time in game.
Was worried for a minute that my run was going to end very very early.

@upsetbanana4429 technically he's strength or power personified

So wait... They're on MY side?
Sick.
Let me bring the Mighty Boy into hot springs, I don't ask for much 😢
🙏
Amen to that
My boy keeps on kill stealing
I don’t think he knows any other way to start a conversation

Person of the week in every Greek opinion pol!
@@Lex-bb2tbWhat a pro, Herc could stop a show.
Hell yeah! This is somewhat similar to a Disco Elysium song at the start - ‘Your Body Betrays Your Degeneracy’
Yeah the big guy music, I remember
Your blood betrays your godhood
By far my favorite character in the Hades series. You know this guy just means business.
im already scared
Its Heracles's theme.
The fear, the anger, you can just hear it!
HONEY YOU MEAN HUNK--
HELL YEAH
I’m calling a cyclops boss fight
Or Heracles
Oh there almost certainly is, but its theme is probably "Sightless Shepherd", seeing how the cyclops was a shepherd whom Odysseus stabbed in the eye.
I think it’s Heracles theme
you mean besides the existing cyclops boss fight
@@Synthonym He must have commented before he knew there was a cyclops boss.
Mightest of Men
Prediction: heracles is the olympus surface boss when it comes out (😮)
That would be cool as fuck I hope you are right
Why would he be? He’s clearly not an enemy of us or Olympus

@@quintengames3576 plus all the characters tell you not to interact with him even though he seems pretty chill towards you in the game currently
@@quintengames3576 Having him attack you if you brought a boon of Hera would be pretty cool
You can’t tell me this isn’t a boss theme
I think its too "static" to be a boss theme, in comparison to all the other boss themes we have. This barely changes throughout
This isn’t a boss theme
It’s actually Heracles theme I believe, could be wrong but go look up the scene where you meet him and it sounds similar
You aren't gonna believe this
Oh, it’s a boss theme all right.
Just not to you.
Oh my -god-
I listen to this song whenever I need a testosterone boost
Olympus...
What did they do to my boy ...
Huh? He's exactly how he should be. Hera comments on his journey of self discovery and everything
