Another incredible soundtrack by James Horner. To think that he did this in 10 days is remarkable. Great brass fanfare, and an epic score. RIP Mr. Horner.
when i watched dis movie then i lill bit cried abt brave achilles ..the character ov achilles is really made for james horner and that is myy one of the most fav movie i hv ever watched in my life ........
Amazing soundtrack and a great film! Some people have their doubts about the film, but I think the whole ideology of being remembered is inspiring, I mean the soundtrack itself is called 'Remember Me'. Plus the fight scenes are epic!
AMAZING! I think this piece of music alone is the best James Horner has ever written or at least in the top 5. It's the one I've listened to most ,over and over again.
3:26 woaow..that is so hero-like.. i love it after Hans Zimmer, James Horner is certainly the best moviesoundtrackcomposer (does that work excist?) !!!
The battles in this movie were good, and I liked the Greeks and Hector, but they completely missed out on developing Helen who should be a focal character in the story. That's what I liked about the Helen of Troy TV movie from about 2003.
this film isnt a documentary nor was 300 or braveheart or gladiator all 4 are really amazing films if you want to the real thing watch the history channel!!!
To Dzpisx, well sometimes, you don't have nothing else to do but listen even without any word and you'll feel like transported and escaped... This is what music is.. not like some commercial songs people can find in all market...
I respect your reply. You must be the first person to not throw in some stupid and thin arguments over why Hans Zimmer is the top of the pops. So thumbs up to you :)
Now a days, it's really hard not to borrow from other composers - just listen to a man like Hans Zimmer. He also gets alot of inspiration from the old timers. In my opinion, borrowing a bit from other composers to compose a great score of your own, does not make either composer worse. You're right though, you have to be careful about how much you let yourself inspire.
@kendconcerto I agree. He is my all-time favourite, I listen his work whenever I have a time to spare. There are other great composers there as well, but Williams is one who got me into the world of soundtracks. =)
If you google "Odin" you will find plenty of images of him riding a horse or sitting on his Throne. If you google "Alice in Wonderland" you will also find alot of infos about her. Does that mean they all were real?
@Pepoxable Glad I saw your post before I responded. As many times as I've listened to the soundtrack of Lawrence of Arabia, I can definitely say he didn't rip it off. It's sweeping like LOA, but no rip-off. What James Horner does in a lot of his soundtracks is he uses bits and pieces of the music he did in previous movies. Never heard of him ripping off someone else's work, only his own... :)
No If you read Homer's Iliad you will see that Trojans are Greek. The battle was between Ahaious and Trojans, both Greeks.Turks didn't exist at the time. That is why the war lasted 10 years.Whenever Greeks fought battles lasted for many years.
The real Trojans would have been some kind of ancient anatolian culture, possibly quite similar to the Hittites. In the Iliad they appear more as Greeks since it was written by Greeks.
This song was preformed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra? Huh. . . I didn't know that. That was the orchestra who performed the whole score for The Lord of the Rings.
Aargh...not another Hans Zimmer battle. Look, the way I see it is, Zimmer may not be the most original composer in the world, but I still prefer listening to his music, even if it's less original or complicated than Horner or Shore or Williams or Goldsmith or, or, or... It comes down to one thing - whether music is "good" or "bad" is entirely a matter of opinion. I like Hans Zimmer's music. Even if it's simplistic and over-used, it's still epic and I never get tired of listening to it!
Best part starts at 3:26 Oh, by the way this film is way better than 300: fights are more realistic and less flashy and fake (and rely much less on CGI).
@darkangel10468 You´re completely right, but Horner is not the only that mix pieces of his music, try Hans Zimmer in the soundtrack of the Backdraft (Burn it all) and Crimson Tide (Roll Tide), the use of synthethizers is very similar. John Williams did the same in some parts of starwars symphony and others films, etc etc
If you had studied Iliad carefully you would have immediately noticed that the only substancial difference between the book and the movie is that in the second there are no Gods. The other differences in the plot are only a consequence of the director's decision, which, in my opinion, makes the events more realistic.
dont forget Jurassic Park from john williams. Last samurai and pearl harbor from hans williams, Titanic from James Horner And dont you even DARE forgetting to mention lord of the rings by howard shore
And he did a fantastic job as always! Although I honestly do prefer Yared's score because I enjoy the loud and "in your face" sound of his brassy score. But Horner was definately a remarkable replacement.
You are right ! John Williams composes every single scores for Steven Speilberg's films

@andraken they dont ruin it, they modernize it, for better understanding, no offence, cause i read homer's story too, but a movie script is at least 30% different from the real story
Who says that Troy is a myth? Alexander paid his respects to Achilles on his tombstone, back when he lived. I see no real evidence for the fact that the Iliad is true. Well, Homer might have added a little extras, and that'¨s about it. Furthermore, i was not commenting the point of the movie, i was commenting the historical accuracy; if you didn't catch it.
no it's not. the way 300 shows the historic people is just ridiculous, epic even. Xerxes was not some regular pierced gothic type. The spartans weren't some dumb brutes who hacked and slashed through all they saw. Their fighting skills were mainly tactical moves, which you hardly see in the movie. And i could go on like that, but since the number of characters is limited, i won't do so. But if you continue on insisting that 300 is a better movie concerning history, i will ;)
@lanko24ify The music in the interval you said resembles the one of lawrence and is very similar but it's not a ripoff, some parts of the same encore after 0:45 sounds like back to the future OST but is not the same.
Hans zimmer is more digital and likes to use more synthetic sounds than James Horner. Plus, Zimmer plays the guitar, while Horner plays the piano. I'd prefer James Horner over Zimmer, but the score for "The Ring" was awesome.
TROY is an amazing film... it had good scenery, fight
scenes, and music.
Another incredible soundtrack by James Horner. To think that he did this in 10 days is remarkable. Great brass fanfare, and an epic score. RIP Mr. Horner.
Absolutely loved the part when they zoomed out from Achilles, and you saw those thousand ships. You were like "Oh, my God! Trojans are screwed!".
Horner composed the entire score in 10 days. NICE.
when i watched dis movie then i lill bit cried abt brave achilles ..the character ov achilles is really made for james horner and that is myy one of the most fav movie i hv ever watched in my life ........
Whoa I had no James Horner composed this piece. No wonder it was so grand! Some parts of this movie sucked, but the score was simply EPIC!!
Amazing soundtrack and a great film! Some people have their doubts about the film, but I think the whole ideology of being remembered is inspiring, I mean the soundtrack itself is called 'Remember Me'. Plus the fight scenes are epic!
Amazing movie.........RIP achillis and Hector....Amin
Yes it is true!! I am an Italian student and know the real story of Troy... in the movie the story is very changed!!!
oh i love the scene where this music is playing. helen looks stunning
AKILES IF YOU ONLY KNEW 3000 YEARS AFTER YOU WE STILL REMEMBER YOUR NAME!!!!!! BRAVEST DUDE EVER
the music of the heroes
Beyond that beach lies imortallity! Take it! it is yours!
James Horner is Awesome... :)
Besides Hans Zimmer James Horner too is a great composer.
The Greek Army and Its Defeat by James Horner is wonderful.
AMAZING! I think this piece of music alone is the best James Horner has ever written or at least in the top 5. It's the one I've listened to most ,over and over again.
I'm a Hans guy myself. I like the bombast. Some Gladiator stuff sends chills down my spine
Troy:
The only movie I've seen where Sean Bean lives in the end :)
300 was based on a comic book. It's like a video game, it doesn't need a storyline to make it work.
James Horner & Hans Zimmer are some of the Best music coposer in the world, after John Williams and Steven Spielberg, shure : )
Yes. He is the speech.
The Movie was great.
LOOOL YOU ARE SO RIGHT....
3:26
woaow..that is so hero-like.. i love it
after Hans Zimmer, James Horner is certainly the best moviesoundtrackcomposer (does that work excist?) !!!
Yeah it is. It's the piece that is played when they return to Troy, before the invasion.
achilies we remember you +1 from greece
Like it.
for hector and troy remember them
This vid include:
Troy
Through the fires, Achilles and Inmortality
+100 from GREECE !!!!
Its almost the same like avatar!! ;)
When I first saw avatar I was like... This is SO JAMES HORNER! lol
The battles in this movie were good, and I liked the Greeks and Hector, but they completely missed out on developing Helen who should be a focal character in the story. That's what I liked about the Helen of Troy TV movie from about 2003.

Fuck the radio I listen to this when i work out and train for a fight!

i like the fight scenes, simple n direct, no whooshie-hooshie fake stuffs
@kendconcerto I agree. He is my all-time favourite, I listen his work whenever I have a time to spare. There are other great composers there as well, but Williams is one who got me into the world of soundtracks. =)
It is from the a CD called GREATEST MOVIES' OVERTURES
exactly!!!!
thats why its always write "inspired by a real story" on the movies case.
(srry for the english)
épico! mELHOR FILME!
Just a myth. Spartacus, that's the man. Fighting for freedom. Greetings
exactly though this one is pretty inspiring as well
Dont forget also memoirs of a geischa, star wars and Lion King and Kingdom of heaven
If that's the biggest problem with historical accuracy you can spot in this movie, well.
If you google "Odin" you will find plenty of images of him riding a horse or sitting on his Throne. If you google "Alice in Wonderland" you will also find alot of infos about her. Does that mean they all were real?
+1 from greece

which still is some good names to read ^^
But John Williams' music have more originality and story. I really love John Williams' stuffs, he's a musical wizard!
Chuck Noris is the student of the legendary Bruce Lee, his martial arts are real. So plz respect that. And get on enjoy the music shall we ?
No If you read Homer's Iliad you will see that Trojans are Greek. The battle was between Ahaious and Trojans, both Greeks.Turks didn't exist at the time. That is why the war lasted 10 years.Whenever Greeks fought battles lasted for many years.

In the Iliad they appear more as Greeks since it was written by Greeks.
@@nutyyyy No you are wrong.Same Gods Same language, same customs, same way of living, same origins, same temples, same clothing. One people Greeks!
+++++++ 1000000000 from greece
This song was preformed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra?
Huh. . . I didn't know that.
That was the orchestra who performed the whole score for The Lord of the Rings.

Oh, by the way this film is way better than 300: fights are more realistic and less flashy and fake (and rely much less on CGI).
Now you know who you're fighting!
Well Hans Zimmer also plays piano as well, but you are mostly correct.
You guys realize he probably was real but over time tales of his victories became exaggerated therefor he is both real and legend and myth
@darkangel10468 You´re completely right, but Horner is not the only that mix pieces of his music, try Hans Zimmer in the soundtrack of the Backdraft (Burn it all) and Crimson Tide (Roll Tide), the use of synthethizers is very similar. Greece and the thousand Ships...
From 2:30 to 3:20 it's very similar to Stargate's music!
Last samurai and pearl harbor from hans williams, Titanic from James Horner
And dont you even DARE forgetting to mention lord of the rings by howard shore
2:32 reminds me of stargate
It is going to be interesting what he is going to come up with for James camerons new film AVATAR
let them say that i live in time with hector the tamer of horses and achilles good mouvie james horner
@bookercreator Good question, hehe. Chinese martial arts ROCKS
hans zimmer and john williams should have a fight, it would be epic
Nice armor :O
@kendconcerto
Yes and No. Did you realize how similar the Harry Potter and Star Wars chase music is?
james horner Vs Hans Zimmer ! Epic fight :P
And he did a fantastic job as always! Although I honestly do prefer Yared's score because I enjoy the loud and "in your face" sound of his brassy score. But Horner was definately a remarkable replacement.
3:04 - suddenly the movie decides to go Stargate on us!
I dont mind it sounding like some other guys music. people do this all the time in art. It may not be original but its always unique.
the trojan horse is real, I had some of these ones on my comp!
Ok ok that was just a joke ^^
James Horner & Hans Zimmer
@lanko24ify Yes I agree, I had no idea, thats y I prefer John Williams.....
i need this sheet music for wind band
You are right ! John Williams composes every single scores for Steven Speilberg's films
@andraken they dont ruin it, they modernize it, for better understanding, no offence, cause i read homer's story too, but a movie script is at least 30% different from the real story
Nice Music, movie wise, eh.
no I think I mean JOHN WILLIAMS who made the score for Jurassic Park..
-.-
I also like hans zimmer
i think this was about the music people.
Is the score here on RUclips BTW?
@lanko24ify it kinda reminds me of "stargate" theme as well... but that's just me
Who says that Troy is a myth? Alexander paid his respects to Achilles on his tombstone, back when he lived. I see no real evidence for the fact that the Iliad is true. Well, Homer might have added a little extras, and that'¨s about it. Furthermore, i was not commenting the point of the movie, i was commenting the historical accuracy; if you didn't catch it.
which track is it on the soundtrack??
i can't find it..
i only found this...
• 2. Troy (5:01)
3:31-6:06 < i can't found this..
@lanko24ify sorry. i have heard of Lawrence of Arabia, but have no idea whats it about. can you give me a rought idea of the movive?
no it's not.
the way 300 shows the historic people is just ridiculous, epic even. Xerxes was not some regular pierced gothic type. Yeah. Haha. He plays both, but mostly he's known for being a pianist and synthesist. But he does play guitar as well.
Hans zimmer is more digital and likes to use more synthetic sounds than James Horner.
Plus, Zimmer plays the guitar, while Horner plays the piano.
I'd prefer James Horner over Zimmer, but the score for "The Ring" was awesome.
That's a movie, some changes were probably needed to make the movie in how they want to do it. That's not a "real story" movie.
@kendconcerto hmm, have you seen how far they can throw their spears..? just an example.
@aaronmb83 There's a reason why its not call ''CHUCK NORRIS 's HEEL''... Chuck norris would win for sure
Why are you guys talking COD-made reputation special forces on this video?
