Dear Sir, thank you for making the effort to produce this video. I am a Brit living in Sweden, and the local garage wanted an arm and a leg to fix this problem...
Hi there great start to video till got to taking the wheel off. Please be safe next time never trust just the wheel jack Axle-stand! My friend die when working on his car with just the wheel jack. Didn't get the full story if he was mess about or it was just an accident. That with the safety side out of the way. I have the same problem with my car Peugeot 307 SW Petrol same looking engine very tight down one-side. I haven't seen anything on my Model but your video has help out many thanks for upload. Try and see i can make video too for upload but i'm an old man now.
Señor muy bueno su video y su técnica los felicito por la rapidez y la facilidad cómo cambió su tensor, lástima que no pude traducir al idioma español gracias
Thanks for this - just had to do my 2002 Berlingo with the same problem. Looked in the Haynes manual and it was useless. Mine has the Gates tensioner and there isn't a matching hole for the pin to take off the tension - there is just a ramp which isn't alot of use. I finally got a 15mm open ended spanner with a tube over it for more leverage and I put a piece of wood down the side of the spanner to stop it slipping out. I then clamped the extension tube under tension with a pair of mole grips. Once I'd removed the belt, I then removed the idlers to make it easier to get the tensioner out and back in again. I had the car on an axle stand and used 2 scissor jacks, one under the sump and the second under the lower engine mount so I could change the angle the engine went up and then down. Not a job I would like to do again but thanks again for the help given by your video.
😂 I think you need to watch again, I didn't put the axle stand under the sump, and my jack has a built in safety lock, which turns it into a axle stand, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Very helpful video, thank you. Just to add, did this on my berlingo 1.9, didn't need to disturb the bottom engine mount or take the top mount off. There's just enough play if you loosen the three t50 bolts and lower carefully on a jack. Thanks again for a great upload.

Would this cause power problems?
It would affect the alternator charging correctly but not power of the engine as in acceleration et cetera Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 just wondered as it does run the fuel pump? I think.
My expert making slipping noises and not running well over 2000 revs
