HA!! I'll reduce my carbon emissions to zero by DYING!! Don't look at me like that...the rest is the bacteria's fault! (srsly: not contemplating suicide, iz juzt joek)
I’ve been watching this channel for a while and in the future I’d like to see a video on the Coleps. They’re one of the lesser known creatures but I see them a lot in the background all the time. Just any background creature seen often would be cool to have an entire video about
It's a minor miracle how Hank can say the word "butts" and not miss a beat or ruffle the smooth pace of the script. It is not at all a surprise that I, a totally mature adult, also giggled like a ten year old every time he did hehehe
I like it so much when you speak with a calm and soothing voice! It’s very appropriate for this mysterious and magical world of microcosmos. Thank you, Hank, for your work ❤❤❤
So bryozoa are taxonomized by their anus location. Humans are deuterostomes which means they, among other things, are taxonomized by when they develop their anuses. I'd be interested to hear what other animals are are taxonomized by their butts. I'd love for this to be a theme for a series of videos on any of the DFTBA Records' channels. Now you've piqued my interest and I'm off to go google butt holes!
Well, there are other animal clades diagnosed by (among other characteristics) lack of a butt, or secondary loss of it,¹ I believe... ¹ As in, the clade descended from ancestors with butts, yet lack that feature, themselves.
How do the specalized types of bryozoans in the colony share food? Corals have shared cell tissue connecting them but it looks like bryozoans are only connected by extracellular goo?
But.... Butt Butt.... lol. Everything sounds more sciency if it's described in ancient Greek. Next time someone ticks me off, I'll call them an Ectoprocta. lol. (My auto spell check has that underlined. Guess they never programed Greek into Firefox. Bunch of Extoproctas.)
Girl, I know you write this and it looks like people want to hear your writing narrated by a man, but your readings are just as good and the especially good bits I like to imagine you narrating.
bryozoans are so weird that some *do* move. some of them use specialized zooids to move slowly, and thats pretty normal for a colony of little zooids. there's another kind though, with branches in its colony structure, and those branches have *joints*. it *walks*. very slowly, but thats still nuts
So a bryozoa colony is made of many individuals, each with its own unique and specialised roles, formed from a single individual and sharing its genetic material. Or in other words, it is a multi-multicellular animal animal.
I love this channel but the introduction music on this one is awful! Please go back to the quiet, calming, non-distracting background music that used to be featured on these videos.
I had a dream not to long ago that I was part of a some kind of "biomass' no eyes, ears couldn't smell or taste but I could feel I don't know if I had any real motion or not but I almost felt like I could tell something was eating me
"Wheres the anus?" this is like from some dystopian future where meat has gotten so low quality that people are complaining their isnt enough hog anus in their burger lol

Carbon offsets are a scam.
I love these videos. I would love them a lot more without the background music. C'mon, Hank.

What do you have against carbon anyways, it's a perfectly respectable element.
It’s a pretty cool company, I’ve donated to them a few times.
"Waddling, fantastical creature" well there's my next online dating bio

I vote yes 🗳 ☑️
@K M Hmmm.... "swipe left"!
"Defined by my butt"
Ahem..You forgot 'slightly' lmao
"I can't shake the feeling that someone is checking out my butt." - _Bryozoa,_ probably
"What we're really here for is the anus..."
I feel so understood.

So bryozoa are protostome
Bryozoa is in the kingdom protista. Right?
@@anggarkumoro7938 No they're protostome animals most related to brachiopods.
Love microcosmos, wish to could have this when I was a kid
I love Hanks soothing, quiet voice.. like he’s recording this narration from inside his closet.. with the door closed. 😆🙌
😂😂😂
I love this channel ❤️
My only problem is hank's smooth, calming voice putting me to sleep. Love you Hank!
This is one of my favorite ASMR channels..
This is what me and my 5 yesr old watch to fall asleep for thr last year ❤️
it's not a problem when it's a desired feature ;)
I SO LOVE these videos, the quality is just outstanding
How do the specalized types of bryozoans in the colony share food? Corals have shared cell tissue connecting them but it looks like bryozoans are only connected by extracellular goo?
Beating cilia creating currents in the goo maybe
In German we call corals Blumentiere (Flower animals) also a name I love.
Bump because the algorithm has been mean to this channel
Def deserves more views
So glad to know I'm a member of the ectoprocta. Pooping inside my own mouth is just not my thing. 😝

Informative, entertaining, comical. Nice job.

So many untold butt jokes! Ze Frank collaboration when?
How many cells make up a tardigrade? Their bear-claws freak me out.
This is what happened when you watch too much ZeFrank and also have a microscope.
I liked the videos more without the background music
I love the microcosmos!

The music, the narration, the writing. *chef's kiss*
Some days, I know how they feel.
this would make a killer Tangents episode!
This is how I define my exes.
This is my favorite kind of content, info about critters you don't hear about too often!
I am not as funny as a bryozoa. They are much cilia.
If you don't have a butt, can you fart?
Just need a sphincter
Butt for sit. Sphinct for faarts
They are really cute!💜
Many humans share that trait as well.
The mystery is built on butts 😂😂😂
starting my morning off with a video about the anus... good times
Username checks out.
The narration is the best.
Everything about these, when describbed, is just the *SAME* as a siphonophore, how can be that this *ISN'T* a siphonophore??
So a bryozoa colony is made of many individuals, each with its own unique and specialised roles, formed from a single individual and sharing its genetic material.
Or in other words, it is a multi-multicellular animal animal.
Who comes up with the names of the micro-living..??!🤔
Why make it simple, when you can make it complicate ..🤭😣
How does one keep samples alive long enough to view? Many of my samples are dead or blown partially to bits.
That screenshot though. Like a horrible new Wendy's slogan.
I love this channel but the introduction music on this one is awful! Please go back to the quiet, calming, non-distracting background music that used to be featured on these videos.
Humanity could learn from our Bryozoan buddies
the only mobile bryozoans are _Cristatella mucedo_ and the few obscure solitary deep sea bryozoans.
2:59
I like big ecotoprocta and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny....
My boyfriend caught a colony of bryozoans when we were fishing once. It was pretty weird to see.
Flatulence. A special form of ambulance designed for road roller accidents.
Great video, I like bryos after watching it.
That's what she said
7:02 surely it‘s spelled EnDoprocta :)
Just an idea, but what does a contact lense look like before and after being used under a microscope?
Zoo-oid? Zo-oid? I rarely finish a JttM video more tense than I started.
Almost thought this was a zefrank video for a moment.
What happened to this video? it only has 13k views since yesterday
I never thought I would know so much about microscopic butts, Thanks JttM team!
Just in time for Pride month!💁♂️🌈
I’m still mind blown that this is the same hank green from the sci-fi show lol
That was neat!
Remind of barnacles a lot.
Whoa-oh, Black Betty...

Finally really looking at all those microorganisms I used to study in school that I only saw in stained slides in the past.
that's what he said
Interesting 🤔
Butt mystery!
Nice title👏
How big are the bryozoa colonies? It's hard to tell from the video
Around 1:45 you can see a hand holding a colony
@@kellydalstok8900 Oh right, I somehow didn't notice the hand. Guess I was focusing on the colony. Thanks
most of them are small, but there can be very large ones that are still being researched
Muito bom!! 🎉
Neat.
Gross
HUH
So do coral polyps belong in the bryozoan family or are they something that has developed convergently similar features?
