    Something to think about is if cortisol = low testosterone we need to think about cause and effect. Men with high test might be in the military, CEOs or billionaires which are very high stress environments to work in but these men typically have highest testosterone. But their testosterone can make them less stressed as they see things as an interesting challenge as opposed to a threat. My point is, what if testosterone causes low cortisol not that low cortisol causes high testosterone. If this were the case, an unemployed sedentary pot smoker would have very high test because he has low stress levels, but this isn’t the case at all. Being stressed is a decision, choose to run at challenges and stressful situations head on and you will not be stressed but feel empowered and have a surge in testosterone.

    • @tbd407
      @tbd407 Месяц назад +1

      good point. I tend to think that when we take risks we have higher testosterone. And the kind of stress that leads to low testosterone is more the chronic stress of e.g. being stuck in a marriage where your wife berates you every day or living upstairs from a nightclub, not the "stress" of an exciting challenge whether that is a rescue mission, giving a pitch to sell your movie idea to someone or planning an event with many moving parts. I think we need more accurate words for the types of stress than just 'stress'. i think you can put yourself in environments that require you to step up and your testosterone goes up in order to help you, whereas if you put yourself in an environment demanding nothing, e.g. if you won the lottery and just hung out and played video games, your testosterone creation goes down because it's not needed. that's my theory anyway

      @@tbd407 I agree and would love to see some studies on this - I do think attitude and the practice of running toward challenges with sword drawn, teeth bared can introduce higher testosterone.

      You guys are romanticizing "the ideal male" too much. While testosterone is often associated with leadership qualities; ceos, billionares and military men are most of the time lucky or unlucky in the way they got there. Look at elon musk, you might say he got there through hard work, and while you might be right, he still got lucky to be able to achieve what he did. And i would say that he isnt a "man with high test". If you look at popular ceos or billionares, you will see that theres basically not a single which is young, fit and seems to have high test. Theres barely anyone at all.
      in the same way, the military strips men of their sedentary lifestyle, giving them both exercise/training and "good" diet without any distractions. If any of you trained like in the military, i would guarantee you would be able to fit in. Military men are of course not "muscular", they need to run alot and mostly only train calisthenics, along with not being able to eat too much.
      The optimal thing for test would probably just be unemployed, going to the gym, doing cardio, sleeping and eating well; with supplements as needed. Having higher test from that might make you want to do something with your life, in which case it can help with both drive and leadership, but that wont guarantee your success in any way.
      A pot smoker would have low test because he's sedentary, and probably eating badly along with that. In the same way, a highly stressed soldier will probably have low test too due to constant stress, long "shifts", not enough food, not enough rest etc. with an average job you have the luxury of working out, not being stressed out if you focus on it, and having good food to eat every day that you have control over. You can become the ceo in your mind (without the money) if you simply decide to take it seriously.
      What more do you need for test than having the ability to eat whatever you want, the ability to work out, the ability to sleep as much as you need and the ability to manage your stress from any handful of options. Depending on the job you might sacrifice one of those, if you're stressed out at work constantly theres not much outside of trying to be calm that can help, but that still doesnt mean that you will have low test, it will simply impact you more than average. If you're unemployed you might not get alot of food, but you can still be active and calm without a care in the world.

    I’m 32
    274lbs
    just about 2 months ago started on keto and dropped around 10lbs and have been lifting and running. I can tell my body composition has changed just based on body weight exercise improvements. However the quality of workout seems to be more and more of a struggle to attain as compared to when I was in my 20s.
    At the risk of sounding like the “back in high school guy” I used to be able to attack 4 mile runs and lift and swim with out having some extraordinary long warm up process. Now not so much, but maybe that’s just with age and the sedentary lifestyle I had just recently led. However I have noticed a massive decrease in strength and muscle mass. It’s become a lot longer of a process to stack muscle on than it ever has before. (That was always relatively easy for me) then I started having really low energy output regardless of how clean I was eating or how much sleep I was getting.
    I figured I should get my Total T levels checked and sure enough 270ng/dL
    I was shocked…because my sex drive has been fine. So I’m going to start the 400mg of Tongkat Ali and 600mg of fidogia agrestis and check the T levels in 3 months.
    Hopefully the combination of weight loss from exercise and these supplements will get my endocrine system the kick it needs. Then I’ll see what happens to the T levels when I don’t take them.

As men age, their hypothalamic-pituitary function and Leydig cell function deteriorate, which can decrease testosterone and sperm production. Most men, at least in American, do not have healthy dietary habits. Which can also lead to low T.

    ashwagandha has also been shown to raise T levels.

      @@DimitriTheBarbarian I’m not talking about a shortcut. It can be used alone, however, it should be used in conjunction with diet, working out, and sleep.
      Studies (I believe it’s 1600 mg daily) has been shown to raise T levels in men.
      Also, since it’s a supplement, it should be cycled (4 weeks on 2 weeks off).

    • @moosechuckle
      @moosechuckle 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Ificationer I’ve read that too, but it’s always under the guise of soy increase estrogen in large doses.
      Most people will argue, since it’s only in large doses, you don’t need to worry about it; however, my wife has a soy allergy which forces us to eat primarily from scratch. I’m the cook, so I’m reading food labels constantly, and soy is in everything processed, and sometimes in meat. Even when it’s not labeled “soy,” it’s in there. Natural flavors, gums, stabilizers, vegetable oil (which is just soy oil), and even the wax that they put on fruit can and usually is derived form soy. That’s at least true in America.
      So, while men aren’t sitting down and eating a bowl of edamame, they are being exposed to it any time they eat fast food or processed.
      Soy is a huge resource grown in America and there are farming lobbyists in Washington, who pay for the studies that claim estrogen isn’t caused by soy. So, we’ll probably never know for sure, but I’d stay the F away from it.

    You can do the ABCDE diet as contrived by Torbjorn Akerfeldt, but it. is. f'ing. brutal. Not gonna lie.
    Your body by design will produce excess testosterone, IGF1 etc when you are consuming extreme amounts of excess calories, but this process shuts down after about 12-14 days. The ABCDE diet was essentially to eat like a pig and train heavy and hard for 2 weeks then diet hard to knock back the excess fat gain. 2 steps forward, 1 step back. It worked, at least for me, but it was honestly the hardest diet I ever tried. I could only do it for one month. Gained 3lbs muscle and bodyfat actually went down a tiny bit but I never tried it again.

    Dang, you really botched the quick explanation of no-fap. Here is a unbiased quick and short:
    Part of it has to do with the normal dopamine detox culture, which is self explanatory. Another part is based on scant evidence that abstaining from orgasm can temporarily elevate t-levels for men. This along with quite a lot of positive personal testimony online, have played heavily into the general mens' anti-modernist online movement online that basically considers it a right of passage.

  • @mirr1984
    @mirr1984 5 месяцев назад +2

    OK, let me clear something up about this no-fap nonsense. Abstaining from cracking-off gives the impression of a energy and focus burst because your body is creating a craving to breed. It's essentially an increase in dopamine creating a sense of motivation, i.e. energy. Beating off should be done in moderation, but ultimately you don't have to abstain very long to attain that feeling of motivation. So basically, no-fap is a deceptive load of nonsense. It also doesn't lower your testosterone. After ejaculation your testosterone slightly lowers for a couple of hours then returns to baseline (this has been proven several times in research).
