Some years ago, i bought the JBL Go for 20€ (almost A $ 38), the first Go model. It was a shame. I wanted something better that the one I already owned and I'm not a big expert on audio but something seemed wrong to me.
After opening the blue rubber coated thing, I discovered that their "stereo Bluetooth speaker" only had one speaker in it. I'm note really sure but doesn't stereo mean two speakers in it ?
Oh and there was also a plastic duct like half around the speaker to bring some air in it.
I have to confess that I have created an abomination with this thing (fun fact, you will see). I have added two speakers from another Bluetooth speaker and added two more speakers from a broken TV. I have put all this mess in a cardboard box, cut holes, hot glued a part of the initial JBL Go and, finally, I have changed the flat lithium battery for a round 18650 (same voltage, more amperage). I was so proud of this at that time. It was ugly but it was my handwordk for myself.
tl;dr: I have turned a mono Bluetooth speaker into a Bluetooth speaker with five speakers, the all thing into a poor cardboard box and added a more powerfull battery.

JBL GO is amazing, my personal favorite. I owned a gen 1 for over 7 years now wich I use at work in engineering and it's still going. The amount of abuse it went through is nuts and it's still going, absolute tank.

On amazon there is a nearly identical speaker that according to the answers has the same voice as the EFM Toledo, no idea how the audio sounds as it is a knock-off

I think he’s being a little too hard on it, with price and size considered, I doubt it’s that bad. Seems like a perfect speaker for someone who doesn’t have much money to spend on a speaker or someone that doesn’t know how much they’ll use one.

On JBL speakers there is a key-combo you can press to enable or disable bass boost. Out of the box it has a really flat equalizer, but if you turn this setting on, it sounds really good (if you like bass and I can only speak about the Charge 3, because that is what I have).
That’s not an EQ. That’s a debug mode (hold - and BT button) which voids your warranty.
That aux port makes that cheap JBL better than any of the others without by default for me. My friends and I bring our PCs to eachother's places pretty frequently for game nights. Having something portable and relatively inexpensive that can output any audio at all by just plugging into the PC is very valuable, making JBL speakers a staple of game night (we all run cheap motherboards that don't do Bluetooth lel).

I found one of those charge fours on the side of the road and it works perfect and the sound quality and base for a speaker that size is amazing lol, Love your videos!
I might be a little late to this vid, but I actually have one of those JBL Go 2 speakers, I got it specifically because its Bluetooth and will fit comfortably in lots of phone holders, though sometimes you'll need to make sure the holder doesn't press any of the buttons.
Yeah the sound quality isn't the best, but for that price at the time and for what I wanted to use it for, it's served quite well!! Plus I'm SUPER happy to finally have used something that you've reviewed on the channel!!!

I have the Sony SRS XB33 and the design is similar to the charge, and both can be used standing up. The "feet" to the sides allow for the bass to come through.
I love the Sony one, while there isn't aux in in that one, you can activate everything including 2 profiles (extra bass and live) without the need for the app. Even the stereo pair works.
The boom doesn’t beg for apps. The message played when you tested water resistance is because you haven’t set up one touch playlist and had held the magic button(big middle one). for pairing, hold the dotted button with a light behind it that’s located towards the back of the speaker. Then it does some bongo sounds and is open for pairing

I’ve had the one of the original UE booms since 2014/15 and I still use it (albeit less often) and the battery still lasts and the speakers are the same quality as when I bought it. Great replacement for my super old aux only JBLs.

Love my BOOM3! I use it in my jeep since the screen died and doesn't do radio. I got it free at my old job because a customer left it in a locker room! Sure, it doesn't have AUX-In, but dang does it sound better than the ONN (LITERAL WALMART CHINESE CRAP) I was using.

Those side bass r e f l e x things are called Passive Ratiators. Your studio monitors appear to have the same on the sides. They're not an actual 'speaker' with electrical input, instead, they are simply a cone that will resonate with the internal air pressure fluctuations of the speaker enclosure. This creates another surface to vibrate the air in the room and enhance bass output.
The "bass reflex" things are called passive radiators.
Sexy speaker should say "Turned on" instead of "power on."

@@VIP1234 Only if the seller chooses to use it. I always choose the standard international so it doesn't risk going through the "slash-n-dash." It prints out the customs form for me. It no harder than shipping a standard package.
@@GriffinStorm True, but as you have heard from some of Dankpods recent videos, he has asked the seller to **not** use it, yet they still did anyway. The best thing to do would be to find a seller that ensures they won’t use Ebay’s global shipping, even if you have to pay a bit more for it. Personally, I’d rather pay $10 extra for a $100 product if the extra money ensured its safety.

In my family we have a Jawbone Jambox, Mini Jambox and Big Jambox. I seem to recall them pretty much defining the product. They sound excellent but dent easily.
The older Megabooms are fairly decent and I swear they have aux in. The ability to network a heap of them all ip to one phone is the main selling point over anything else.
I remember getting a "free" MP3 player after signing up with my current phone carrier. Since this was in 2001, it only had 32mb (yes, MB - megaBYTES) of storage. I managed to put 16 entire songs on it.

I can confirm my Tribit Stormbox has served me well for near 2 years and ive never been unhappy with its sound. also the strap is awesome for bike rides or to put it on the strap of a backpack for a walk. big recommend

@@circattle - Only the finest laminated chipboard on the Maxim 2 ... but they sound great. I got mine for £10 from cash converters in 97. I'm pretty sure they are the only thing I still own from back then.
