    if you want to see most martial arts fall apart, just pit two fighters against each other and it will swiftly turn to the primal instinct to wrestle.

    I think the biggest problem shown here are the rules.
    It can't be more stupid for traditional MA.
    - you are not allowed to punch the head...
    - both fighters are wearing body pads under clothes, which makes it useless to punch or kick, because you are not likely to make damage.
    that's why every single match looks like wrestling.

    I'm pretty sure this competition is more fit to gauge street standup instead of a ring fight. You notice how they stop at the takedowns, and their exchanges don't last more than seconds before someone hits the ground. People aren't trying to get knocked out. These guys are gauging their capacity for street self defense, which makes you used to fighting with your regular clothes on instead of just board shorts, gloves and shin guards.

    They are using protectors under the uniform and there are limiting rules. It is wushu competition. Wushu means martial arts. It is like the original mma - vale tudo.

    not allow hitting head and finger stabbing, body protected by gear, what u can do except for wrestling?

  • @alopda1
    @alopda1 11 лет назад

    reguardlessof fight game restrictions the art in which a person studies should be seen in real time. More often than not it turns into a brawl.

  • @zendao
    @zendao 11 лет назад

    not allow hitting any part of head, testes and back neck.
    not allow dangerous finger tips.
    above for the sake of dead or serious injury possibility.
    fighting stopped when someone down to ground or hold each other beyond 3 seconds.
    beside all the above, u can do anything.
    players wear body protective gear. even with gear, lots of player injured in play.
    It is certain not real martial art with so many limit rules and protective gear.
    real fighting like colosseum of Rome costs blood and lives.

    If you say chuan (quan) makes no sense to say kung fu after. kung fu was a word popularized to name martial art, mainly chinese martial art. The correct word is wushu, literally martial art( bujutsu in japanese). Quan means fist it is like boxing, fight without weapons, as in tai chi boxing, white crane boxing. Many styles use it as a designation. In Japan would be ryuu(ryu) like in shorin ryu, kyokushin ryu.

    @Bob Fei Not true quite a few people who went to fight the Japanese were trained in using Xingyi during the Sino-Japanese war. Many were trained in Xingyi spear tactics to use with rifle+bayonet as well as fast wrestling tactics. My teachers master in fact fought in Sino-Japanese war and first learned the basics of Xingyi during this time later moving on to Taiwan where he would go on to further his studies. He also learned some basics of Bagua as well although i believe he never followed up on this when he left mainland China.
    Ps. Lots and lots of Shuai jiao Techniques used in Xingyi and Bagua. All true Chinese martial arts should contain Elements of Striking( kicking and punching), Chin na and Shuai Jiao.

    • @KaiZhuang
      @KaiZhuang 6 лет назад

      The cultural destruction of real kung fu took place AFTER the Sino-Japanese war, mostly during the cultural revolution period (60s-70s). You can still find great masters of internal martial arts around, but they are really quiet hard to find now. A lot of them left mainland china (e.g. gone to US, Taiwan, etc).

    Seriously!!! these are battlefield arts not a sport. Whoever thought of this was just looking to line their pockets & in doing so debase these arts & make them look ridiculous. These arts are not for sport & progammes like this just consolidate the modern assumption that kung fu is a joke, when in actual fact it is one of the greatest arts, just misunderstood. Big luv

  • @AmericanTestConstitution

    They do not have kung fu in any strong line in China. Communism destroyed kung fu. The kung fu in America, Canada and Brazil is more traditional and stronger. Master Ho-Yan-Ja, if he were alive today, would agree with that.

    It is sad to see an art sensationalized to a point where the *art* is lost.
    You don't have to kill or maime someone to demonstrate proper techniques such as in chin na and all the other spectacular and effective moves available to control or subdue an opponent. UnseenLightForce is absolutely correct, This is not an accurate representation of the real art. This might as well be mud wrestling!

    Very bad format - so much restrictions rob the balls from any traditional style: No strikes to face (and anybody doesnt care to cover his head), such a thick armouring that any blow to corpus is useless, no arm-or leg locks ,no groundfight, no pressure on neck. Only pull, push, wrestle and try cowardly slow kicks - just to put leg to others hands. And fancy dressing, dragons, yin-yang and lights and bling - awful.

    That's embarassing. You call this wushu? All I see in every fight(except of the second one, that red dude did exellent) is fat people grappling, hugging, pushing and falling down on each other like giant massive walruses trying to defend their fat females. FFS, I want to see some wushu/kung fu, not some kind of caveman wrestling.
    You've reached such point here that I can see MUCH greater fights in kickboxing, boxing, muai thai, OR EVEN MMA. Remake the rules, and shearch for new fighters.
