The craft of crafting these jewels lies in the intricate weaving of unique, three-dimensional and flat elements, painstakingly crafted from minuscule stones. The very essence of the challenge lies in the diminutive holes, too small for even the finest needle to penetrate, elevating the creation of jewelry with stones far beyond the simplicity of beadwork.
The butterfly pendant can be attached to the lower edge of the choker using hooks, or placed directly in the middle of the choker using a loop on the back of the butterfly. I also make a matching bracelet, and you can place the butterfly from the choker on the bracelet.
This choker is designed for those who want to be in the spotlight, to attract the admiration of others, immersing them in a world of mystery and beauty.
This choker is versatile and can be worn with business attire, evening wear, theatre costumes, wedding dresses, and it complements trendy, modern styles.
The project began in September 2023 with thinking over the idea, studying the history of jewelry of the peoples of Russia and historical facts and artifacts stored in one of the museums of the Khabarovsk region.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, jewelry was crafted from extremely small pearls, strung onto horsehair until the pearl-bearing creatures were nearly wiped out. Later, jewelry began to be made with glass beads.
I was inspired by the idea to create a meaningful piece of jewelry. In our troubled times it is important to think about life values. I expresses this thought through her work. This project can become the beginning of a challenge for designers all over the world with the slogan "Living in the present, remember the past, think about the future"
In the necklace in the form of a butterfly you can see many symbolic opposites that make up our life: light and darkness, good and evil, fragility and eternity, despair and hope, freedom and fetters.
I took the idea of the hollow butterfly wings from an antique piece of jewelry, but she added elements inside, changed the weaving pattern, the meaning, the design, and the purpose. In this way, i combined the old traditions of her ancestors with a new, original design.
