I Tuned My Focus RS at MOUNTUNE!

- The long awaited upgrades to my Focus RS have started! I've taken the ecoBeast along to Mountune to get started with the FPM375 package, boosting power from 350PS to 375PS and torque from 470Nm to 510Nm. The best thing is that Mountune work directly with Ford and as such it is fully covered by warranty through the Ford dealer network.
As well as the FPM375, there is also the M380 package but that is not fully warrantied through Ford, but I did use the opportunity after taking a look around the workshop to take Mountune's demo car for a little drive. I'm not going to lie, the axle-back exhaust system has me tempted as the next modification!
Thanks for watching, Tim

I think you've been waiting for it, but now my Focus RS has been to Mountune for the FPM375 package!
Does the MPG change while driving normal??
Shmee150 have you found out anything else for your ford gt
You really need to put a blow off valve, make that turbo scream
Hi Tim, how come you have so many cars? It's something I've always wondered?
Greetings
Shmee150 definitely get the exhaust upgrade!
tomorrow twin turbo. 900 horsepower in the mini
Aidam Tabirao 😂 imagine. But wait. 900 horsepower or .900? Meaning 0.900 horsepower 😂 which is more like it's real horsepower xD
Stephen Burack lol
A Hayabusa engine would be enough for the Mini
twin turbo Hartley V8, rear engined and rwd or nothing :p
TheDidiwolf34 would take some fitting and sound proofing 😉👍
Shmee saying "cheers" at the end always reminds me of a goat bleating...
TheStreetsBeats lol probably due to his half-laugh he uses while saying it.
TheStreetsBeats :(
3:58 high quality badge fitting process 👌👌
Sgd On cars yeah i see that
That's where the extra horse power comes from 👍

Love the by pass valve sounds. The tune for the ECU is what gives the air filter and recirculating valve its power. I'm in USA and have a Fiesta ST could not wait to put Mountune parts on it as I've been waiting for performance Fords and watching Mountune tune these cars for over 13 years now. So exciting we get to use these parts.
375hp is actually quite a lot for what is basically still a 'small' hatchback car.
Ford is definately the king of hot hatches at the moment.
Lennard Hartman but still not enough compared to the stock A45
Lennard Hartman you can actually do a lot more with a golf R with just a tune and downpipe and make comparable numbers to the ford without looking like a boy racer... just saying.
Lennard Hartman sorry but the golf r is by far the king of hot hatch
I was very pleased to see this in my subscriptions today! I would highly recommend going further with the RS down the road! This platform responds very well to some carefully chosen parts and the RS seems to be no exception. I'd also recommend looking into solid shifter assembly bushings, the exhaust and intercooler from Mountune with their next stage of tune, and another set of wheels would definitely make the winter/summer tire switchovers easier!
You should of done the full exhaust system
I agree, he should have done everything together, do the exhaust and ur at 380-385 horsepower, and a lot better and louder sound.
Ahmed Gafar that would void his car's warranty which he clearly doesn't want to do
+Kaushlendra Singh an exhaust would not void his warranty, especially if he did an axle back or catback. There's a chance if he messed with the cats and tuned it, but 100% will not affect his warranty with a catback
Needs an exhaust, but probably voids the warranty?
(Milltek makes a great exhaust for the RS)
statesidesupercars it doesn't void the warranty from mountune, the axel back exhaust is warranty friendly
Ben Gallagher Not worth it imo, you really want the full Monty with downpipe etc.
life is too short for warranties
As far as I'm aware, if you modify your car, then make a warranty claim, they can only knock you back if they can prove the modification had something to do with it. So if you modify the exhaust, and your electric seat malfunctions.....then they have no reason to not honor your warranty.
@adam Cooper that made me laugh hahaha !
Omg that red GT40 is a mk.3 road car, those are freakishly rare (only 7 were made). I believe that one was on display at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015.
Awesome video Shmee, loved it. Thank you for all of your videos and for being such an awesome car enthusiast. Cheers!
Gotta do that to my Hyundai Accent 😂😂
Thank for the classy little notice in the beginning letting us know it was a paid promotion, so many RUclipsrs try to explain it in words and they always seem to stumble over their words and come off defensive. Very classy job Tim, as usual.
My FPM375 is being fitted on Friday 😀 I'm going to get the axel back exhaust and quick shift early next year too. Love the vids and your enthusiasm for the Focus RS. It truly is a remarkable car. Love mine! 👍
One of my dream cars, thanks for sharing, I'm looking forward to more tuning content!
The Mountune exhaust is a very good shout. my friend had a mk7.5 Fiesta ST with the MP215 and exhaust upgrade from Mountune and it was brilliant. Exhaust makes it really nice.
"As you squirt" eyyyy I see what you did over there eeyyyyy
Mountune tuning package for the Ford Focus RS, amazing Tim sounds awesome Shmee, thanks for sharing
The mountune 375 upgrade is great! Had a chance to drive my friends RS mk 3 recently - Loved the exhaust pops and bangs!
Perfect upgrade. Upgrade exhaust sounds fruity!
90% of the gain is from re-mapping the ECU, intake and exhaust is just for noise
amcluesent Mire like 98%. He should tested itcwithe the remapping and then tested with the cold air intake.
Having been part of the Focus RS tuning scene for 5 years, I would partially disagree. Cat back is just noise, but intake and downpipes are essential for higher states of tune.
As soon as my RS ,which I'm due to collect Monday, is run in, then I'll be heading to Mountune HQ as well. They are a good bunch and Fred in particularly there always has plenty of time for anyone. When I got my Fiesta ST MP215'd I was fortunate enough to get a tour of the workshop as well. Had an Arrows F1 car there that day plus Mat Jackson's BTCC Focus 👍
it's amazing what a basic intake upgrade can make. you really can feel that the engine behaves differently because it can breathe more easily.
awesome vid Tim... mountune do a great job with their upgrades... need a kit on my ST
It's good seeing content on cars that are actually within reach of some of us, rather than the usual £2m Koenegseggs etc. Good job
Shmeeboyracer150
You'd have to be one rich boy racer to be driving a Focus RS!
Anonnymouse Hacker Maybe we have different definitions of boy racer. To me it's a 17-20 year old doing laps of his local town in a Corsa C with an Irmischer exhaust or a Fiesta Zetec S or something. A Focus RS costs around £30,000 and would be impossible for a boy racer to insure never mind afford to buy.
Adam. PCP is a wonderful thing
Tom Shaw At age 17 with little to no credit history and most likely a low paying job either part time in a shop while you study or as an apprentice or something? There is a reason you don't see teenagers driving cars like this. You'd have a nightmare getting an insurance quote in the first place, never mind being able to afford it!
Adam. I'm 18 and I've got friends the same age with new 135i BMW's, Golf R's and Mini Cooper JCW's all on pretty low paying jobs, personally I couldn't justify so my MK6 Golf will do for now but at least it's bought and paid for
She definitely needs a turbo back exhaust :) With a nice resonator and a good muffler, would sound epic.
Another awesome video. I'm loving that tune, sounds mean.
shmee I am new to the channel. just wanted to say that I am now hooked, addicted and love the videos! one day hope to own either a classic or new mustang or RS. Thank you for keeping my car dream alive :)
Pretty awesome to see you driving down the same Brentwood roads I use every day. I am also a fan of that little tunnel! ;)
Nice vid, shows how to upgrade nicely and smoothly the car
Kool updates for the RS
Some great roads around there
Good to see mountune featured
tuner package with a warranty! Nice!!!
Yes! You definitely need to get a full exhaust system.
From experience of owning multiple turbo cars, the biggest power adders are 1, the ecu tune, which you have done 2, an aftermarket down pipe for the exhaust, the is usually a 10-15 whp gain. 3, is an aftermarket intake which you have done. In my opinion a tune down pipe and intake should give you 40-maybe 50 whp gain. Which in a light small car like that is a big difference! I think Tim if you go with an exhaust make sure you get a down pipe with it. It will double the turbo sound and give a lot more power. And this is all coming from experience of owning and modifying an Audi A4 and a Subaru Wrx. The Subaru I took from the stock 220 ish hp to 305 AWHP and 315AWTQ those 3 mods are by far the best first mods you can do besides turbo upgrade.
Omg love the turbo sound
This is incredible. Would love to find a company like Mountune here in Ontario, Canada! It's a big sell knowing that you're not messing with the factory warranty.
Those pops and bangs in the tunnels are just incredible!
I deffinately think doing more upgraded to the rs would be awesome. and it really shows that you can upgrade a car and keep it in warranty. not many people know that. but. I think it would be a fantastic series on the channel and one that many people would enjoy.
Shmee you've got to have that exhaust on your car love the turbo whistle through the M3 that you took out
finally!! yes shmee upgrade for the RS, please do get the exhaust system and intercooler installed for your RS, makes such a difference to the focus RS, as a friend off mine has the new RS with these added made a huge difference to sound a d power delivery. I've got a full Mountune exhaust and intercooler and induction kit added along with a engine map on my ST made a huge difference to that car. I know there different gen cars but still Mountune know what there doing when it comes to ford performance. sweet video!!! keep it up
a glimpse into tim's ocd on cars, when he notices the cars mirror was folded in ,in front of him ...lol, great stuff shmee!!!
Tim, really been enjoying all your videos. great work! (Mike in Ohio)
awesome stuff tim
Definitely get the exhaust system!
Just awesome, love it!
i love it that u have a RS and love it that you love it lol Definitely get the exhaust system......love watching you drive something that we can afford lol
Yes get the exhaust kit!
Great review
Damn I love the RS so much, can't wait to see the rest of the mods you plan on doing
also I vote yes on an exhaust system
Wished more companies can do tuning with full warranty!
Automotive Mike wish Gm will offer it for their factory turbo cars. Like the malibu with 1.5L and 2.0L . Only offer is springs.
Hey Tim Shmee, I love your new upgrade. Yes I want you to put a new exhaust, 8 inch axleback. If I'am right, take care.
Nice, & yes on getting the exhaust :)
Definitely get the new exhaust!
Looks and sounds great. What are you opinions on the high seating position and the terrible turning circle? Haven't seen you mention either of those issues before.
Yeah, get the exhaust!
I appreciate that you spread the joy within your stable, but I just am going crazy wanting to see you get that GT8 out on the street and thrash it well, hopefully on a dry pavement day. Soon, I hope.
Lovely video!
Hi. Great review. Whilst I enjoyed your Mountune review, I noticed a clicking sound from the indicator whenever you activated the indicator. My RS makes the same click, it was very evident in the cabin. Is this something you’ve noticed, if so, how common is this? Cheers.
Go with the full 380 kit Tim. You know it makes sense!!!
Go for the exhaust completes the package!
@Shmee150 - Finally a video with some more action...some backroads driving :)
Hey I just subscribed to your Channel. I love it. All the super cars are amazing. I am interested in a focus rs and I was wondering if yu came across the common head gasket issue since January ?
Good choice going to Mountune, I heard they do good work.
Another good video Tim. I must admit I own a mk2 rs and I've driven the mk3 a few times and I was really underwhelmed at the whole experience compared to the previous model.
Shmee, Mountune USA does not have a warranty package, none the less, it does make your car go fast!
Get the full 380 Kit intercooler and exhaust!! I also think you should get the. Sticker along the side!
Go for the exhaust YOLO!
Bro, your content is good as always but you gotta do something about your hair...
My manager and my girlfriend are insisting I change it :P
Shmee150 Haha maybe it's a sign;)
no need to mention your girlfriend twice :p
Hahahahhahahaha
Been down them country roads in a Toyota Auris diesel at night & they were fun & no doubt even better in the day in a Focus RS Mountune
you should get the HG Motorsport EGO-X Cat-Back exhaust
shmee; this is awesome. love the new mountune tune. I agree love that sweater too aha. anyways yes you should get the exhaust, and have them program the logo into your center display.
I love that color combo on your rs
I think you should get the full works kit with the intercooler and exhaust. it will make that focus really cool Shmee
Also how much is that whole package if you include the exhaust too
How did they program the mountune logo into the infotainment system? That’s pretty cool.
well it was worth it! Good road Tim
The Focus RS with a big turbo upgrade on a stock engine, Ive seen 483 WHP on the dyno. So we need a review of that!
this is what i wanna see on this channel, engine modifications
like the Mountune logo on your Sync screen! how did you do that?
Does the upgrade affect your insurance? Again loving your car journey over the years, but always great to see a car most of us can actually afford :) Keep up the great work.
Get the exhaust! 👍👍👍
Shmee so I'm looking at the Mercedes A45 and a Focus RS what made you choose to Focus RS over the A45 I live in Wisconsin and I need something whole wheel drive for all year round what's your best advice since you have the RS
definitely needs the exhaust setup
So I got a focus RS, just have the roush intake. Is the chip worth it? What’s the performance distance like in terms of pull? I’m very disappointed with the G’s on acceleration in this car
Hey Tim, you should get what you feel you want on your car be it exhaust or the whole package we support you in whatever the decision you make
Get the exhaust tim its a no brainer mate it will enhance the modifications even more it will be less restrictive than the standard exhaust and sound much better
Yes, put on the "new" exhaust, it's fantastic
Wonderful car!
Your exhaust sounds fine.
i just love MK I ford escorts. that is so cool that they had one there. i'll be honest, i didnt know much about them before Fast Five, and i'm a bit embarrassed to say i learned anything about a far from a F&F movie, but i've been obsessed with those escorts ever since.
Great job Shmee I approve, as a car enthusiast who fit in this kind of performance car. I think wait a little bit on the exhaust. a lot of exhaust will especially the type without catalytic convertor will bring you drone noise. Be patient maybe more will come in the market .
Tim I think the exhaust is the natural progression for your car it will have the sound to match the looks
I sounds pretty good now. I'm personally not a big fan of the turbo blow-off sound, but other than that I think the RS deserves this upgrade :D
Definitely get the exhaust system. Either the Mountune kit or the Milltek system
There are a lot of different options. Not sure yet.
Get the full package with mountune. I've got a mk6 fiesta with the full MR200 package and it's second to none, literally transforms the car. I've had milltek and mountune exhaust setups and mountune wins all day, also warranty >>
Tim,take it as soon as possible to a track day,and push it as hard as you can !
What does Mountune does to address the weakness that's been discovered in the rear diff? It seems like it's prone to overheating in stock form already and may not be able to handle much additional power at all.
Yes get the exhaust
