You should check old sources about Turk phenotype, blue eye and yellow hair was much more common and they were all Asian. Cold places give you that phenotype and ancient Turks lived in cold places.

Er singt über Gottheiten aus der türkischen Mythologie, als die Turkvölker noch Shamanen waren. Hier wird ein sehr altes Dialekt benutzt, ähnlich wie Plattdeutsch. Ich verstehe auch einige Wörter, die Otyken-Mitglieder singen, wie zum Beispiel „dağlar“ (Berge). Obwohl sich beide Stämme im Laufe der Jahrtausende geografisch und sprachlich voneinander entfernt haben, haben Ihre Sprachen dennoch denselben Ursprung nämlich türkisch. Beide Völker teilen, wie alle Türkvölker, das gleiche mythologische und kulturelle Erbe. Nicht Özkan sondern Özcan, wird Özdchan ausgesprochen. Ähnlich wie Jackie Chan, nur das a wird nicht gezogen. Es gibt die sogenannten Altay Türken, gibt zahlreiche Turkvolker in Sibirien, jedoch gehört das Territorium offiziell Russland, manche Regionen haben jedoch Autonomie, Andere nicht und Andere Turkvolker wie Kasachstan, Uzbekistan, Türkmenistan, Kirgistan, Aserbaidschan, die Türkei die einen unabhängigen Staat haben. Auch die Mongolei macht solche Musik / Sounds, der Name des männlichen Sängers ist zumindest türkisch^^ Ich finde es toll das die Kunst und die Natur miteinander verschmelzen, wirkt auch etwas vom Sound mystisch und energisch mit positiven Vibes. Im Endeffekt sind wir auch ein Teil der Natur. Ab 4:55 könnte man einen harten Dupstep Track machen Danke das du drauf reagiert hast, wäre alleine nicht drauf gekommen.

Otyken is linguistically and ethnically Turkic. Yakutian. Even the word Otyken is turkic. Just because Siberia is in Russia doesn't makes the people Russian. Learn to respect their own and unique culture.

I researched Otyken Altay and they are incredible. I am so curious to know whether those born there are descendents of the Kahnate. Genghis' daughters were married and helped rule the kingdom. Or possibly even there is a Hun connection somewhere. But they have a deep connection with the Almighty.
I just discovered this band 2 days ago and I was blown away! Amazing, just simply amazing. The song you really need to check out is Belief. They have a normal version and they have a version featuring Xzibit. Both are fantastic.

Rosalie, you got a suscribe and notification from me. I loved your reaction to this song. I heard Khan Blues a month ago and got interested in Otyken and then hears this one with Ummet Ozcan and i just fell in love with the music. In Otyken i do beleive they have 2 male members, but most are women. Im not saying that in a negative way at all...with the way the world is now, but i have enjoyed the ethnic and indigenous sound they bring to the music. I also have to say, when i first saw Khan Blues i thought initially they were native american, but it wasnt until i got a good look at the clothing and facial markings during that song i knew they were from Siberia. My father always said i was a very cultured and worldly person, being born in Germany and raised in the states, and not ever getting to travel anywhere. But i agree with you about the stereotyping people on looks and appearance. Born in germany and technically a dual citizen not blonde haired or blue eyed. As much as i hate to admit this, i knew Otyken were Siberian thanks in large part to Xena Warrior Princess. As for Ummet Ozcan, the type of guy i dream about, good looking and hot, and amazing voice. Ive listened to his other songs and yes his throat singing reminds me of the Hu. that was the very first thought i had. Thank you for the awesome video, i look forward to more in the future.
I completely agree with your perspective,,, I've been watching Otyken videos since the first one "Storm" found me... That's about 2 or more years. I've watched nearly everything they have made... Anyway, here in Canada, I have a lot of indigenous friends and I show them Otyken videos whenever they come to visit. I have Native friends who request I play them, despite, like me, not knowing a word they are saying (singing). I don't know any Russian or their native language and don't feel that I need to. I ask my native friends if they recognize any part of Otyken's language... It's always a "No". However, we all find their music Very Spiritual. As such, no one needs to know the language. The Universe speaks no human language. It speaks to our hearts. We are blessed, who can feel what the Universe is telling us... Thanks for you review. Ummet is already a big, established DJ and producer---you can find a lot of his stuff on the web. Otyken are just blowing up. This collaboration was done remotely with them a thousand miles apart. Otyken are a group from remote central Siberia. They are all members of small tribes (Chulym, Ket, Selkup, Tuvan, etc.) who speak historically related Turkic languages. There are just over 200 native speakers of the Chulym language left in the world. Like other tribes in the region, they were decimated by centuries of invasion and war, and more recently by the rampant environmental destruction starting in the Soviet era. They play authentic traditional instruments, made by the band-members and their families. The artists also sew their own costumes. These are based on traditional indigenous outfits, but incorporate attributes of several Siberian tribes at once. They want to be ambassadors for all of the indigenous people of the region. Their instruments include: ikili (a two-stringed bowed instrument used in Siberia, similar to the Mongolian morin khuur); khomys (jew’s harp, also known as “jaw harp”); rattles similar to maracas and tambourines; a local variant of the mandolin; and several kinds of drums, as well as modern electric bass guitar and electronic keyboard/synthesizer. They occasionally play a saxophone they found abandoned in the forest near one of their villages. My favorite description of their ikili is “You look like someone who no one should mess with because your instrument was made out of a freakin’ BEAST!” Otyken incorporate throat singing and chanting into their vocals, as well as imitating wild animal sounds and bird calls. When they were founded, they started off doing straight-up folk music. When they began to add a fusion of folk with modern rock sounds, they found themselves attracting fans from all over the world. They have also become a symbol and a rallying point for indigenous people all over the world who have suffered the same kind of fate-guests in their own land. They are fully aware that their language and culture are dying. Part of their purpose in performing and recording their music is to leave behind a record of their culture before it is gone. Their manager and producer is a Russian who is sympathetic to their history. Through these performances, they are getting their story out to the world. To date, they have released tracks mainly in Chulym, but also in Khakass, a related tribal language, and one song in Russian, addressed to the people who took their land. As they say in “Paradise Lost”: “The land is yours now, but the sky is ours.”
What kind of nonsense is this? Their producer is not just sympathetic to their history, he is married to a woman of their culture. And they have not one song in Russian, but several. And don’t expose this band as Russophobic, they always emphasize that they love Russia and do not divide anyone by nation!

I heartily recommend this! The concert is called Pulse Of The Earth and was in Moscow. Because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, Otyken is not allowed to play anywhere in the west. So I hope they keep getting more popular on RUclips.

Hier trafen sich Künstler zweier Turkstämme, um mit alten türkischen Instrumenten türkische Musik zu machen.
Ich bin türkischer Abstammung und verstehe fast alles, was Ummet Özcan singt. Er singt über Gottheiten aus der türkischen Mythologie, als die Turkvölker noch Shamanen waren. Hier wird ein sehr altes Dialekt benutzt, ähnlich wie Plattdeutsch.
Ich verstehe auch einige Wörter, die Otyken-Mitglieder singen, wie zum Beispiel „dağlar“ (Berge). Obwohl sich beide Stämme im Laufe der Jahrtausende geografisch und sprachlich voneinander entfernt haben, haben Ihre Sprachen dennoch denselben Ursprung nämlich türkisch. Beide Völker teilen, wie alle Türkvölker, das gleiche mythologische und kulturelle Erbe.
Die Instrumente, die hier gespielt werden, sind allen Turkvölkern bekannt, wie zum Beispiel das „ikili“, das sich auf die Zahl 2 (iki in Türkei türkisch) bezieht, weil das Instrument zwei Saiten hat. Die türkische Bağlama/Saz ähnelt der Ikili, hat aber 6 - 7 Saiten.
Das Gebiet um das Altai-Gebirge in der heutigen Russland ist die ursprüngliche Heimat vieler türkischer Stämme und Otyken (Ötüken) ist das legendäre uralte erste Capitol aller Turkvölker und dieses Gebiet ist für uns heilig.
Großer Bereich des Zentral- und Nordasiatischen Kontinents ist der ursprüngliche Heimat aller türkischen Stämme. Einige dieser Stämme sind vor tausenden von Jahren, als die Beringstraße noch vereist war, nach Nordamerika gewandert und dort ansässigen geworden. Es sind die Vorfahren viele indigenen Stämme in Amerika, was auch DNA Analysen belegen. Diese Stämme und Clans haben lange lange vor Columbus Amerika entdeckt.
Die Art, wie Özcan singt, wird Kehlkopfgesang genannt und ist eine traditionelle Gesangsart bei den türkischen und mongolischen Völkern der Asiatischen Steppe.
Hier sind die Namen einiger Göttinnen und Götter, über die Özcan singt:
* Tengri = Himmelsgott. Er ist der Schöpfer von allem. Tengri war der Hauptgott des türkischen Pantheons, der die Himmelssphäre kontrollierte.
* Kayra oder Kaira = Höchster Gott des Universums
* Adaghan = Berggott.
"Ülgen oder Ulgen = Gott der Güte. Kayras Sohn.
* Mergen = Gott der Weisheit. Kayras Sohn.
* Kyzaghan/Kızagan = Kriegsgott der
* Umay = Göttin der Fruchtbarkeit.
* Kuara = Gott des Donners
* Kubai/Kübey = Göttin der Geburt und Kinder. Es schützt Frauen, die gebären. Sie gibt Kindern Seele.
* Koyash/Kuyaş = Sonnengott.
* Ak Ana = (Ak bedeutet Weiß) Göttin der Schöpfung. Sie ist die ursprüngliche Schöpfergöttin des türkischen Volkes. Sie ist als Göttin des Wassers bekannt.
* Ay Ata = Gott des Mondes.
* Gun Ana/Gün Ana = Göttin der Sonne.
* Yel Ana = Göttin des Windes
* Yer Ata = Gott der Erde
(Wie man merkt, herrschte bei den Ur-Turken eher das Matriarchat vor)

Es gibt die sogenannten Altay Türken, gibt zahlreiche Turkvolker in Sibirien, jedoch gehört das Territorium offiziell Russland, manche Regionen haben jedoch Autonomie, Andere nicht und Andere Turkvolker wie Kasachstan, Uzbekistan, Türkmenistan, Kirgistan, Aserbaidschan, die Türkei die einen unabhängigen Staat haben. Auch die Mongolei macht solche Musik / Sounds, der Name des männlichen Sängers ist zumindest türkisch^^
Ich finde es toll das die Kunst und die Natur miteinander verschmelzen, wirkt auch etwas vom Sound mystisch und energisch mit positiven Vibes. Im Endeffekt sind wir auch ein Teil der Natur.

Otyken [O-tu-k`en] is one of the best Russian "modern folk" bands. Their texts are in Khakass, Chulym and Russian languages. Word "Otyken" in Chulym and other Turkic languages means - "a sacred land where warriors would lay down their arms and talk".
Altay (region in south Siberia) is the hypotethical ancestral home of all Turkic languages tribes (peoples). Ummet Ozcan is a Dutch DJ and record producer of Turkish origin.
Otyken: Azyan - vocals; Ach - keyboard, throat singing; Kunchari - igil (two string cello); Otamay - komuz (two-three string guitar); Tsveta - vargan (aka mouth harp, jaw harp), drums, komuz, vocals; Maya - drums; Hakaida - bass-drums; Aiko (Muna from this year) - bass guitar.

I researched Otyken Altay and they are incredible. I am so curious to know whether those born there are descendents of the Kahnate. Genghis' daughters were married and helped rule the kingdom. Or possibly even there is a Hun connection somewhere. But they have a deep connection with the Almighty.
I just discovered this band 2 days ago and I was blown away! Amazing, just simply amazing. The song you really need to check out is Belief. They have a normal version and they have a version featuring Xzibit. Both are fantastic.

Otyken is a place, Õtüken, is where Turks first emerged as Gõktürks. It is also where Kut resides. Kut being the life force of everything, the one thing that determines the fortune of the ppl. Rosalie, you got a suscribe and notification from me. I loved your reaction to this song. I heard Khan Blues a month ago and got interested in Otyken and then hears this one with Ummet Ozcan and i just fell in love with the music.
In Otyken i do beleive they have 2 male members, but most are women. Im not saying that in a negative way at all...with the way the world is now, but i have enjoyed the ethnic and indigenous sound they bring to the music. I also have to say, when i first saw Khan Blues i thought initially they were native american, but it wasnt until i got a good look at the clothing and facial markings during that song i knew they were from Siberia. My father always said i was a very cultured and worldly person, being born in Germany and raised in the states, and not ever getting to travel anywhere. But i agree with you about the stereotyping people on looks and appearance. Born in germany and technically a dual citizen not blonde haired or blue eyed. As much as i hate to admit this, i knew Otyken were Siberian thanks in large part to Xena Warrior Princess.
As for Ummet Ozcan, the type of guy i dream about, good looking and hot, and amazing voice. Ive listened to his other songs and yes his throat singing reminds me of the Hu. that was the very first thought i had.

I completely agree with your perspective,,, I've been watching Otyken videos since the first one "Storm" found me... That's about 2 or more years. I've watched nearly everything they have made... Anyway, here in Canada, I have a lot of indigenous friends and I show them Otyken videos whenever they come to visit. I have Native friends who request I play them, despite, like me, not knowing a word they are saying (singing). I don't know any Russian or their native language and don't feel that I need to. I ask my native friends if they recognize any part of Otyken's language... It's always a "No". However, we all find their music Very Spiritual. As such, no one needs to know the language. The Universe speaks no human language. It speaks to our hearts. We are blessed, who can feel what the Universe is telling us... Thanks for you review. I'm so happy the Universe gifted you with their music 🙂

Ummet is already a big, established DJ and producer---you can find a lot of his stuff on the web. Otyken are just blowing up. This collaboration was done remotely with them a thousand miles apart.
Otyken are a group from remote central Siberia. They are all members of small tribes (Chulym, Ket, Selkup, Tuvan, etc.) who speak historically related Turkic languages. There are just over 200 native speakers of the Chulym language left in the world. Like other tribes in the region, they were decimated by centuries of invasion and war, and more recently by the rampant environmental destruction starting in the Soviet era.
They play authentic traditional instruments, made by the band-members and their families. The artists also sew their own costumes. These are based on traditional indigenous outfits, but incorporate attributes of several Siberian tribes at once. They want to be ambassadors for all of the indigenous people of the region.
Their instruments include: ikili (a two-stringed bowed instrument used in Siberia, similar to the Mongolian morin khuur); khomys (jew’s harp, also known as “jaw harp”); rattles similar to maracas and tambourines; a local variant of the mandolin; and several kinds of drums, as well as modern electric bass guitar and electronic keyboard/synthesizer. They occasionally play a saxophone they found abandoned in the forest near one of their villages.
My favorite description of their ikili is “You look like someone who no one should mess with because your instrument was made out of a freakin’ BEAST!”
Otyken incorporate throat singing and chanting into their vocals, as well as imitating wild animal sounds and bird calls. When they were founded, they started off doing straight-up folk music. When they began to add a fusion of folk with modern rock sounds, they found themselves attracting fans from all over the world. They have also become a symbol and a rallying point for indigenous people all over the world who have suffered the same kind of fate-guests in their own land.
They are fully aware that their language and culture are dying. Part of their purpose in performing and recording their music is to leave behind a record of their culture before it is gone. Their manager and producer is a Russian who is sympathetic to their history. Through these performances, they are getting their story out to the world.
To date, they have released tracks mainly in Chulym, but also in Khakass, a related tribal language, and one song in Russian, addressed to the people who took their land. As they say in “Paradise Lost”: “The land is yours now, but the sky is ours.”
What kind of nonsense is this? Their producer is not just sympathetic to their history, he is married to a woman of their culture. And they have not one song in Russian, but several. And don’t expose this band as Russophobic, they always emphasize that they love Russia and do not divide anyone by nation!
