Wow! This is stunning! What an amazing way to explore the Gold Coast. Those sand islands look incredible. That shot of Nothing Point at sunrise is incredible! The 8K footage is amazing - it really makes you feel like you're there. Can't wait to see where you head next weekend
Hi Jake and Anna. I hope all is doing well for you..sounds like this is the case 😉 Thx for sharing your expertise. I love the rhythm of this video, a mix of action with underwater images and the sound goes well. It also reflects your happiness.🤙
Glad you enjoyed it Garel, maybe Australia could be your next vacation? Escape the winter in france? Let us know if you make it out, we would love to meet up with you 💫
Happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing the stoke, we made sure to render out all of our clips in ProRes to try and get the best quality shots, so thanks for noticing :)
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah it is just so showing. and most ppl are like amazed by the 360 experience but filmmaker might feel different because of this and its showing on yours. credit were credit is due
In my opinion, one of the most touching and diverse views about Insta 360 x4, which was published yesterday, at the time of the general presentation. You don't have a lot of views, but your clip is made very well, and very beautifully. Thank you, it was very nice to see you, this camera suits you. Good luck. 😁
Yewwwww!! Epic vibes in beautiful spots on this gorgeous Land and Sea Country! 🤙Those leopard sharks! 🤯 so gorgeous. I don’t own any of Insta360’s actual 360 cameras (I wish!) but the X4 looks like a massive quality improvement on the x3. Oh and congrats on the new home base guys!
Thanks Amelia, we had so much fun over on K'gari, its so wild over there, we absolutely have to get ourselves a 4x4 to make that a regular hang out :) Quality of x4 is flawless, you wont be disappointed, it's rugged on the design as well which is reassuring if you're mounting and diving with it :) Let us know when you're next up in QLD, we'd love to connect!
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah aw I've gotta get myself to K'gari sometime! A 4x4 seems very essential haha👌The removable lens guards on the X4 must be a total game-changer for durability! Maybe I'll be able to pop it on the wish list some time haha. And for sure I'd love that, I'll reach out next time I'm over!
5.7K 60fps is awesome for shooting slow motion action sequences especailly underwater and then 8K 30 really is noticeably crispier in bright lighting environments, the X4 is certainly a powerful camera, thanks for sharing the stoke :)
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah I found it in another video. It's the frame rate, contrast, sharpening and saturation settings. It can be turned off / down... Cheers!
By rendering in ProRes out of the Insta360 studio desktop app, and making sure we capture our clips in bright lighting conditions. We rarely shoot with these cameras in low light :)
Looks promising...great edit BTW!!....1. What is the reframe resolution on the 8k footage?....2. Do you have any idea of how the lens guards fare in water or rain...are they water tight and do they disperse water easily (the X3 and GoPro Max almost always leaves a drop in the centre of the lens...physics I guess!)...
Thanks for sharing the stoke and definitely impressed with the camera. The reframe resolution is up to you, if you shoot in 8K you can choose your export size. We exported a lot of our 8K clips in 5760 x 3240 and then downscaled the clips to 4K in premiere pro. We didn't use the lens guards so can't comment on how they fare. For all of our underwater diving shots we used the X4 dive case and it was unreal, our main tip for getting crispier underwater renders of 360 shots is to make sure the camera isn't far from the subject, don't expect to have crystal clear renders if you are using a long selfie stick and the camera lens is 1m away from you, keep it within 30-60cm and you'll get epic results (provided the water visibility is clear)
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah it looks amazing! Did you film it on 360 or single lens? I’m looking for that fisheye effect and can’t find it in any camera I have tried lol🥲
@JakeRichandAnnaChah omg so many pulling brook falls, twin falls, the natural bridge is good...if you want just a short walk to Mt tambourine they have many but at thunderbird Park is the cedar creek fall a small one but you can swim in the pools, the natural bridge is amzing also so many so many in sprinbrook ....
My sister and her fam have just moved there so maybe bump into you guys again in the future :) Killer slick editing and story as usual love the flow and the audio!
Whats your workflow? Do you reframe in insta360 studio then edit in another program? I feel like there is more control reframing in davinci, but insta360 studio is easier.
it depends, you get to choose when you export from your editing suite and also from insta360 studio. For some of the 8K clips, they were rendered out of insta360 studio in 6K and then scaled down to 4K to fit the workspace in the editing suite. If your editing workspace is 8K then when you export your video it will be 8K, however, 4K is more than enough for my laptop to handle when it comes to editing so i'm keeping that as our standard video workspace for now :)
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah 8K is the whole 360 circle. Once you just take a piece of the circle, - 16:9 - it can't be 8K exported unless you upscale it to 8K or 4K.
Straight from the camera no AI denoising used, obviously we colour corrected like all filmmakers and mostly downscaled not upscaled as we are rendering out 6K clips and fitting them into a 4K timeline
Soooo where to next with X4? 😏 Can't wait to see all of your amazing adventures in 8K 🙌
Western Australia? We hear there are some crazy cool whale sharks over there that we know the X4 will capture incredibly well... (keeeen?)

Awesome locations! Is there a way to get rid of the "soap opera" look? Or is it baked in?
Soap opera? Fish eye? 360 footage is wide angled
