Nice overall , short sharp and yet long enough to still be informative . This is why im Subbed to your channel, because with all your content its everything you need to know , its on topic , its an experienced assessment without any pompous bighead or associated bullshit !.
Too easy. I'm working on a raw mix to submit. Like raw no processing no effects, nothing. Just a good oldschool mix but I'm not sure what effects and processing to go with... So you may find my raw one Monday ;)
What's a cheap way to get into UAD? I'm looking at using one of their DSPs with both WIndows and Mac, but I can't find the PCIe cards anymore. I don't need a whole lot of power; I could probably get by with a Duo or an equivalent, maybe a Quad at the most.
Nice, but I don't think you actually had the transformer (XFMR button) engaged. Should be lit up when you engage the mic input. Sounds heaps different, really 3d...
deanc2000 I use it wherever I need it to be honest. I'm running 2, Apollo Quad's cascaded with an Octo Satellite so I find 16 cores to be enough. If I get close and max out my DSP on big sessions, I'll just render to audio if I'm in Studio One or commit to track if in Pro Tools (or physically print the track and take the plugin off). That's a great workaround if you're ever low on DSP 👍😊
Hey man when I load the Uad Ssl channel into studio one why does it always load the stereo version? Even on mono tracks it looks like. How do we select the mono version?
Waves is having a huge sale now, I think until the end of the month so it's a great time to stock up. Unfortunately however, their version of SSL 4K E only comes as a part of a bundle for $750 flat. Having said this, I don't believe there are too many other companies that can challenge UAD for this particular product. Slate has a great package which includes emulation of SSL (among many other plugins) for a very reasonable monthly fee of $15. I do not know how the two version compare with each other so it's hard to say which one is better. I know for a fact though, that Slate's version sounds fantastic regardless of the competition. Hope this helps!
The Softube Console sounds good, but in every comparison I've always ended up liking the UAD better. You can make great sounding mixes with both however!
Dude you do the best mix tuts on the net.
M White Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate that very much! ❤️✌️

I almost like the way the vocals sound without the plug in enabled, Sounds less harsh to me!
you double click when a single click would do it?
With the new version using more DSP, do you use it just on the busses? or individual tracks too?

Great tracking especially if the performers does always sound good on tube mic pres.
