When you first said contact paper I thought to each their own. All I can say about the results is wow! I appreciate seeing a professional at work. What I learn ups my hobby game considerably.
Thanks. Yes I think time, place, and pattern is important when deciding to use contact paper. It kinda functions like a geode in this context which I like. But, will not work in a lot of other contexts. Especially since the kind I got is so thin it won’t stand up to wear and tear, but luckily all the equipment should stay in its place now.
This turned out great, far nicer by far that you repurposed an existing record cabinet instead of building new, the sticky backed paper looks great I think, one of my sons has just gotten into vinyl records this year and has definitely got himself addicted I think 😊, which is good as vinyl sounds far better in my opinion 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺
Another beautifully restored piece of furniture, thank you Caitlin. It always impressive how you work around difficulties and end up with gorgeous results.
Very nice work! I’m 100% back to vinyl at home. I restored a 1967 Garrard table and a 1952 RCA combo 45 player, AM/FM unit. Super loud vacuum tube greatness! You really paid respect to the original design, looks excellent!
That's an impressive piece of "up-cycling". In the UK , "radiograms" as they were called, often used a terrible speaker material called Tygan It was textured and had some sort of a plastic / paint finish on it. Truly grotesque,. I've built my own speakers for a long time so I avoid the issue. The self adhesive finish looks great, very much in keeping with the piece. I hope it sounds good, those drivers look OK.
Thank you for sharing the rehab of the retro stereo cabinet. You did a wonderful job. Looks great, some very good ideas to update it. Glad you kept as much as you could. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
Good Afternoon H. B. Hope your Weather in Jersey is a lot better here in Ohio. Gray and Rain here. Really nice video on the repurposed cabinet. Fantastic job. The Lattes work turned out absolutely fine. Great choice of fabric. Also the Newspaper look inside the cabinet is nice added touch, period appropriate. Everything just gel’s together so well. I thought I very faintly heard White Christmas coming through Lol. Anticipating next week’s upload. Have a great day today and the coming week.
Outstanding job. Looks great. Love your content. That type of furniture was in every house when I was younger. Stereo cabinets were very popular. Some even a T. Vs in them.
Good morning 🌅, Honey B, That looks 👀 very nice, great work of up cycling, 🚴 😮😂, old school vinyl very good, I have hundreds of LPS, and literally hundreds and hundreds of 45, somebody was going to throw them out a few years ago, I didn’t even think about making a piece of art out of them, when I finally get back to work after my Op for my CTS, I’m hoping to finish making some furniture to display my hi-fi equipment, as when I’m not watching RUclips ha ha, I listen to music, NAD , LINN LP12 , Very large Transmission Line loudspeaker cabinets SEAS DRIVERS 150w , the speaker cabinets I made a long time ago, At the end you said that you could not play any music, 😮, you could’ve sang, 😂, ❤ from France.
Beautiful job to give it more years of life. Don't know why but I had 'Heard it through the grapevine' in my mind for the first record. How did you latch the top in the end? Thanks for sharing.
I still have to deal with knobs for the doors and the latch. It stays in place long enough for a photo but will eventually need a catch. The copyright on the 20 seconds of audio is annoying to say the least.
Looks really nice ❤
Thanks
Looks great
Thanks
Nicely done!
Thanks!
THanks YOuTube for not letting us appreciate her hard work!! Grrr... Oh well... Great results! Thanks for the project!
I know, I wanted people to be able to hear how it sounded.
I’m a big fan of repurposing old furniture. Your project turned out beautifully.
Thanks. Repurposing is my favorite
Hi HB, First Merry Christmas. Another fine job !!! Looks great! Timothy

I agree. Those speakers sound better then any modern speakers to my ears.

Looks better than new. Great job
Thanks
Looks awesome! Thanks as always for sharing the journey - and the explanations.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice! I would love to have a piece like that if I only had the room.
It does take up a lot of space.

Not gonna to lie, I’m not a sound quality snob. So what I think sounds awesome I imagine most would scoff at.
Interesting, I assumed that you would remove the old speakers. Finished unit is gorgeous. Fold out doors are perfect. Thanks
I thought I would too. I hadn’t fired this up in probably 10 years. But the speakers sound fine to me so I kept them.

Agreed. I like to keep as much original as possible.
Oooo/ Bing Crosby;s White Christmas? Well done, Katelynn. You managed to get a very nice looking cabinet from a K-Mart special.
Hahahaha. Not a Christmas music fan. I had Bob Marley on there.

You have a great week too. I’m not a Christmas music fan so definitely was not white Christmas. S
Hahaha. YES!!!! Not a fan of that either. Hear enough of that on T. V. And Stores.
Another HB masterpiece ! It is wonderful to watch you work. Thank you from a big fan.
Great job! You have great instincts in your choices in materials and design.
Thanks!

Thanks! I know MOD has made a come back and buying pieces can get quite expensive.

I woulda cracked your screen if I sang.
Perhaps a light touch on the new walnut strips with Osmo Wood Wax would even out the tones?
Hey thanks that’s actually a really good idea!
@@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks I have done this quite a few times and been really happy with the results!
How beautiful is this piece!! Loved your video. I learned a lot from you. New subscriber. Linda Beals.
Thanks!

You could sing.
Nobody wants to hear that, trust me.
