When Rooster was in the back of the F14 and said, "C'mon Mav! Time to do some of that pilot shit!" It gave me goosebumps and I was back in the theater watching the first movie... It was amazing! Well done! Best movie of the decade...

Kerry Mallett like most people on earth you have no opinion of value. The movie had a shit plot forced all the way through the first 3/4ths of the film. Fun to watch the flying but none of the animosity was real or necessary. The Sailing scene was silly too lol. San Diego doesn't have rough waters.
I saw it for the third time today just an awesome movie the aerial shots were amazing and I say they picked the right person to play Rooster he looks like Anthony Edwards (Goose).
My teenage was top gun , and now in my 50s, am still top gun. The movie- iconic, Mav - a demi god, The machines- incredible, The showmanship- outstanding!
This is a top notch masterpiece, excellence in cinematography, acting, script writing, and story line. If I could describe this film with one word, it would be the literal definition of "maverick." Well done, well done.

The Script was shit. The flying was fun to watch and that's it. 2 out of 5 stars is the best this film deserves.
Just saw it today and it was incredibly awesome!!! As someone that saw the original in the theater, this was a rich melding of the familiar with the all new, wrapped up in everything that is the "right stuff"!! It was like getting to visit old friends again and feel the memories touch your heart. But all the while enjoying a new adventure that is wonderfully immersive, visceral and thrilling. I loved it!!!
This film will exceed your expectations! Every moment of the film is well done, well thought out; the action, storyline, heart, and funny moments. If your an aviation junkie, it will not disappoint!

I was a Grape serving on the Eisenhower when the first Top Gun came out and my wife and I saw it in the theater. She asked me if that’s really how it is on the flight deck and I told her it is. I also told her that they did a really good job of type casting. Naval aviators are a breed of their own and you haven’t seen cocky until you have seen a US Navy carrier pilot. They think they can walk on water and their crap doesn’t stink. LOL It all makes perfectly good sense really who thinks it’s a good idea to put a shy, timid person in the cockpit of a 30 million dollar fighter plane where your life can end in mere minutes?! Like Stinger said in the first movie “ bullshit 10 minutes this thing will be over in 2 minutes get on it!” Watching these movies puts a big smile on my face especially the carrier scenes. Nobody does military aviation like the United States Navy!
I've seen it twice and I still missed what Admiral "ice" said to Maverick when Ice asked before Mav left, "who was the better pilot". What did Mav answer? The crowd laughed but both tmes I missed it!!!
Went to see this production on Sunday, very small audience in attendance for the AM show but I did like the action and photography, it was very well done.....Little Tom was doing his best with command conflict and I understand his efforts are now a Academy Award nomination.....I give this one a thumbs up.....

It's a great day to be alive... Top Gun 2 Maverick is coming. Love Tom Cruise, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, and Miles Teller (War Dogs). Have seen a few channels dissecting the scenes already. Sometimes people take Hollywood too serious. Was watching self described experts in all things aerial (not military pilots or even aerospace engineers or machinists) take the old Top Gun movie apart. Really, come on guys, it was a great movie and put Top Gun School on the map. We have Red Flag now too, they haven't butchered that yet, but probably will. I have never flown an F 14 Tomcat. But I did work for Boeing and have been intimately involved with manufacturing, testing, and certification of Military Jets including; F 15 Eagles, Harrier Jump Jets (upgrades), F/A 18 Super Hornets. Also Commercial Aircraft including 737, 747, 757,767, and 777. Let's just say 'Membership' has its privileges, especially when you have top secret clearance. Just stay clear of the Paint Booth where Stealth RAM coatings are being applied. The Military guards will shoot you just to save you from toxic fumes... yeah, got lost and went to wrong building, I got M16's pointed in my face.

I was in the Navy I served in an fa 18 squadron I still have some of the patches they have on their uniforms sweets. The one that rooter had on looked like the golden warriors the squadron I was in used to be in the same hanger. Also have the tomcat patches. Fun times guess looks like it might bring back some good old memories time to go see the movie.

Kenny Loggins wrote the greatest METAL song of all time for the first Top Gun and nobody will be able to top a movie theme song as great as Danger Zone.... EVER!!!

Wow, these actors are so damn lucky! To be some of the very few non-military people to actualy experience flying in an F18. That's freaking awesome!

Excellent film. Far better than the original. Very thoughtful to include Val Kilmer and fold his real life illness into his role as CINCPAC.
