Despite his hard upbringing, Amos has grown into a lovely person. I hope that whatever his life has brought him since this documentary, that he has people who love and respect him as he so richly deserves, and that he finally found happiness.
Ya when I worked at target we had two woman who continued to talk in Spanish while on the floor working. Problem was they spoke horribly about guests on the store, very vain as a lot of people in our state speak Spanish or are bilingual. Well another woman overheard and complained because they were being absolutely horrible just spewing hate about every person that passed. Unprofessional and just teenage behavior from some entitled 50 something ladies.
I was working in an IT Department for a bank in Ireland and there were a large number of Indians from 'off-shore' but working 'on-shore'. They would regularly talk amongst themselves at work and not use English and they were talking about work not anything personal. Despite directives from the bank's management and even their own management they continued to do so. Nothing was done.
If Amos was my son I would be SO proud of him. I think he’s pretty amazing. Made more of an effort to learn English than most of the other staff, just keeps his head down and gets on with it. He tried his best you could see it. A bit clumsy but all adds to his charm. Amos you’re a legend and I hope you’re happy wherever you are!
Poor Amos. He was having such a hard time. People shouting at him like being loud would magically make him understand thickly accented English. I hope he can take an English class part time to help him communicate and make his job easier.
As i am now a head Chef, people like Amos can be great chef, if was there i would get him in the kitchen and forge him from A to Z. Then he would be a creative person on the job, first he needs time to get skills and build confidence.
they use him as a scapegoat for all the problems in that miserable hotel, his English is excellent when compared to other staff members, especially polish, what he really needs is to be more determined and not to be so soft to people, he deserves much better job than this, i'm sure if he started in other place (no rural isolated part of england, but rather some cosmopolitan urban area) he would get much better and decent job

Amos I understand to a point not being accepted for your background, he deserves a big chance him not having someone to talk to is the worst thing I live alone with my guild dog hes my lifeline at least I have him to talk to, I am so lonely and am finding it hard, please someone find him help even if it's only someone who speaks his language. He works hard he needs someone to point out things he can do on days off anything just introduced to people his age might be a start.

I actually thought everyone went out of their way to be nice to him. A hotel is a stressful environment and tempers get frayed. That does not mean people are being nasty. Wayne could have sacked him, but he didn't he gave him a chance, probably the first the poor lad has ever had.

Oh Amos, you’re a very special person. Your kindness and humbleness shine through which nowadays unfortunately are less than common qualities to see in people. Sure you didn’t do well at school but look at the hand life dealt you. You have the gift of a second language which in itself is something to be very proud of 😊 I hope he is content in his current circumstances.

overworked manager , expected to supervise everything , in a hotel where most of the staff doesn`t really speak or fully understand the language and with the added problems in catering where people are expected to work 6 days a week 10 -12 hrs daily . in what other profession is this the norm for so little money , younger people don`t want to do this any more thats why many of the workers are foreigners .
gareth isaac I’m 18 and would enjoy doing this, I’ve worked in hospitality for over a year now and wouldn’t mind working in a small hotel, I find it crazy he’s rushing around everywhere and his own staff are lying straight to his face. Would get rid of some of the staff, hire people who are willing and can speak English well even if it’s their second language.
@J C I live and work in Germany , restaurants are closing here because they cant find cooks , some have been open decades , what young person wants to work 6-7 day weeks 10 -12 hr days or longer . no weekends free , when their friends are going to football matches on the weekend or BBQs or concerts , unless the industry changes , then its going to just get harder to find staff , because the foreign staff that hotels have get their language skill up to a certain level then they leave and find a normal job
I worked in hotels in Essex and London where 70% of staff were English and believe me, things aren't different there. Overworked staff, minimum wage and high expectations with no reward. That's hospitality industry for you.

I work in a resort and I know where the issues is they don't have proper systems in place for records. They need to adopt ADP to help keep records. That manager is utterly incompetent. I work in a resort with 200 rooms, and before that I worked in another one with 394 rooms. we had forecasts, and schedules circulated through the computer systems.
When anyone ever asks you if you are christian .... simply walk away quickly.... They are looking to groom you. People who look like they are having a rough spot , are their no#1 marks

I feel so bad for Amos, he has obviously had a hard life growing up in Romania and is just trying to make it better. Even so he can obviously speak English very well. I think he is still really affected by his past and he’s just depressed about it. Don’t think the English staff really understand that.

About Amos: i did a little investigating and you'll all be happy to learn he got married in 2014 to a lovely girl, Forina Jimborean who he had been dating already for 2 years. She has a Facebook page with lots of photos of the two of them enjoying different adventures since before and since 2014. Amos appears to be working in the paper manufacturing industry now.

It seems they don't really get paid enough to make a go of it. Just enough to survive but not to solidly establish yourself.

I was there ,all the visitors loved Amos ,and he tried very hard to learn English ,with some hilarious results.

It’s the same in a lot of jobs especially in retail and hospitality and social care, to have a lot of responsibilities for little pay it’s wrong

Just want to give Amos a massive hug. I hope he is happy now and settled. Funny how those “Christians” pretend they are all sweetness and light, yet when he went to reception to say someone was in the bathroom, he was quite rude and patronising. His true colours definitely started to come out.
