    that actually sounds really good!
I've read quite a few books about people dealing with their own mental health, but never (at least I don't think so?) from the perspective of other people who have someone in their life who's struggling.
also, maybe because I have a sister, but books about sisters (especially where their relationship is a bit more complicated) have some kind of special appeal to me.
adding it to the wish list.

I think this will work better for sisters, I only have brothers and the relationship is different than to a sister.
I also don't remember a book like this, normally books dealing with mental health focus on the sick person and not the people around them.

Wonderful review of one of my top reads last year! I loved everything about this novel: the writing, the characters, the “second ending“. I did this on audio, and the audio narration also enhanced it exponentially.
Her new novel is coming out at the end of August, at least in Canada: I can’t wait!

Thanks, I liked reading it as I might have missed some of the wonderful sentences on audio. I will need to read more of her work in the future!

Miriam Toews is from my city! I read one of her books when I was a teenager but I don't think I was mature enough to understand her content. I've actually been wanting to read All My Puny Sorrows to give her another try.

Yeah, I can see how her writing might not appeal to a teenager, maybe you'll like this one better.

This sounds fantastic! I’m very My interested in how individuals deal with people who want to end their lives, especially after multiple attempts. It sound like this might address some ethical issues with some levity. I’m going to place it on hold immediately!

Toews grew up a Mennonite from Manitoba out on the prairies. This book got a lot of talk on our gov't-run CBC radio. Let's hear it for CanLit! But then I'm biased. Yes, Canada has other authors besides Atwood & Nobel Laureate Alice Munro. I'm glad when any booktubers outside my country discover same.

I really am curious to read more of her as I enjoyed her way with words a lot!
