Used to fly in from Newburg on Southeast air MD 80's or the like. Great views and sound. When we dropped from 30 thousand or so to 5 thousand it felt like we were floating
They we're around in 1st half of 2017 but 2nd half on you'll now see rows of A320's as I Flew in one in Oct 2017. Beginning phase of MD80 retirement happening in later 2018. It was an honor flying in an MD80 (Allegiant) back in 2011.
if you looked just out the window on the LEFT side of this plane as the video starts, my house would be right there. I see this approach pattern. They fly south down the coast at about 3000 feet, on a downwind leg, ultimately to turn back to the north to land at KPIE.

Oh and early on I did not realize how reverse thrust worked and wondered how they could reverse those turbines at such speeds-Duh!
That's a former SAS MD 83. Look at the wing tip. For those that don't know SAS is a Scandinavian Airline.

Just flew on one their 19 year old 3rd hand a320s yesterday. Very uneventful. Still miss the MD-80s.
I remember landing there, beautiful day.
Fantastic video, almost realistically loud when you turned towards the engines!

Nice video👍 subscribed
I flew the Allegiant MD-80 from Lexington Kentucky to Houston Texas in 2016. It was ok but other airlines are better.
