      I don't know. He's always had elite pressing and running numbers. He's developed physically and def-technically/tactically but he's never been "lazy" as the 10s of old were.

    Arteta saw himself in Ødegaard that’s why he trained him so much notice his shooting is similar to artetas? Passing and pinging is like arteta? I’m can’t be the only one who notices

    I think Odegaard has been dropped deeper this season, he no longer plays like a classic 10, he's more of an 8 but more aggressive

      But I feel hes the creative mind of Arsenal's attack. Would that make him a 10 in your opinion?

      @@OT-FUTBOL for me I think you’re right. He is a still a 10, but he has the required work rate of modern football, which is why people confuse him for an 8. Players like him, Guler, Paquetta, Macallister, Buendia etc do work hard off the ball, but they’re still primary creative hubs for their respective teams..just my 2 cents lol

    Guys these type of No 10s don’t exist anymore in football. With evolution and change, most teams don’t want to leave the creation of chances in this hands of just one player. On their off days the team will crumble. Some coaches want to have that balance in the midfield so they use two creative B2B midfielders and a Defensive Deep lying playmaker to control the game. It affected players like Dybala, Isco, Ozil, James, Coutinho. But could we see the evolution of the classic No 10 role with the coming of talented youngsters like Foden, Musiala, Guler, Pedri, Wirtz, Cherki? Let me know what you think in the comment section guys.

      @denniswaweru9340 Год назад +10

      Yeah, but his role is very different from other number 8s. He might be moved to the right side of the midfield, but he is very much a "playmaker", a role that is very rare in most clubs. Even teams like Man City and Liverpool don't play with "playmakers". Odegaard is part of a dying breed.

      @@No-Stack-Developer Gundogan and Debruyne play as no.8s with Gundogan playing further forward to make runs into the box, similar to Xhaka this season. But unlike Odegaard, Debruyne is a pure 8. Its rare to see Odegaard moving box to box the way Debruyne does.

      Ozil was one of the greatest number 10s in the history of the sort definitely top 5. I find it so disrespectful to say such a thing about one of the greatest players to ever play the game the disrespect is astonishing. Your either extremely young and started watching football after he left Arsenal in 2021 or your just downright stupid.
