There is a Prefab Home factory located near the US border that is now building modular homes in Canada and has plans to expand stateside. I stopped by the factory to learn more about what they're building, how much they cost, where they'll be available and when. Watch to learn more about Mint Tiny House, a prefab home company with plans to expand into the USA.

Seems kinda pricey
Kerry, apparently there's a new US law changing regulations on the manufacturiled home industry. I'd like to hear from you or your interview with an expert on this and what it means for us.
Good idea
I’m not sure why this is, but with you both sitting in that kitchen, it truly looks like a tiny home. It looks like a hobbit home.
Haha. Thanks for watching
Great find ! Thanks Kerry. 👍
Nice to know they can ship to USA.
Just be careful when they get to USA, it's really crazy down here now ! 😵💫😜
Their tiny homes look pretty good. The two modular units that bolt together sounds really interesting, hope we can get a follow-up on that. Would love to see a real model of that.
Pretty good. I like these better than Boxabl, and I like the owner's attitude. Seems like a down to Earth kinda guy.
Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
@@KerryTarnow Thanks. I have been since 2020. Do you have a business website with a contact form ?
agree!
You are always on the Go searching out the gems for us Thanks so much, Go Kerry !!... We're also gonna be there, for you, to tell you what you did wrong and where you could improve.. HAHAHA .. this one is a good one, I'm sure insulated nicely for Canada so I wanna change it to 9 foot ceilings and more glass facade ... and a Jacuzzi spa.. Thanks again for going that extra mile, all joking aside, I love seeing the latest innovations
Great looking unit, right size. My customization: No bedroom, bigger living space, kitchen, and walk in shower. No oven (countertop air fry convection unit and dual hot plates that can be stored). Sleep on folding futon in living area. Bare minimum windows for light, picture window in kitchen. Possibly 12V RV style refrig that works with solar.
Murphy bed.. futon is so 80s. ;)
@@gaston. When alone I don't open the futon so a Murphy wouldn't work, plus it's one piece of furniture rather than a couch and bed
I'm not making any judgments here.. but 115K for about 400 square feet before any land or services doesn't sound that great to me.
115K in Canadian dollars
@@ravent3016 at ~$85k U.S., it's still significantly more expensive than, say, a Boxabl, while being similar in size. Although there's a chance you might actually get one of these sooner rather than later, unlike the Boxabl, which is like trying to get a photograph of Bigfoot.
It looked like that one model could be towed like a fifth wheel trailer.
Then you can set that up on the property where you're getting ready to put a larger unit.
When the big one is finished the small one can be a guest house.
For $115k? Heh. Not worth it.
Aesthetically nauseating.
I agree.
This is your most Canadian video ever. The accents... I'm DROWNING
Hahaha 😂
Bombas looking good! Would like to see them stackable...2 to 3 high for low income housing... good stuff! Thanks for sharing Kerry!
Stacking would be awesome, thanks for watching
Isn't the whole point of a prefab home to get the price down? I have seen so much better quality for less or already built on a trailer to be moved. This is kind of sad especially that bathroom for the price.
Thank you for another housing possibility. Obviously, not for everyone but a perfect fit for some. It would be interesting to tour a completed larger modular home.
They're going to have to improve their price point to make such a basic tiny home affordable for those that would want to live in one. I for one could build a place, same size, for under half that in the same amount of time. I'm not impressed.
Mint makes beautiful Tiny Homes. ❤
You’re doing pretty good eh
😂
Great home!
Love your factory tours!
Thanks!
Something about the a/c crammed between fridge & ceiling disturbs me....
Yea I noticed that right off the bat, needs to go somewhere else. It’s wasting space in that spot
My question to the builder would be how does a woman at 4'10" change the temp
Plus it looks like a Cheap window unit
Looks like trash
To be fair, most above-fridge space is not very useful
@thefiftyyearoldfourtwentyg7377 many ac units have remotes
The warm air is usually up towards the ceiling so the AC would be more efficient in cooling the room when it's up high. Cool air sinks, warm air rises. (Follow the science) 😏
All of my small AC units have a remote control.
Nice!
Thanks!
