Lloyoll, I'm a high end custom homebuilder in Mexico. Your Scandanavian architectural instincts are spot on, I'm envious of your skill. I love every inch of this design, especially material selections. This is not a "home", it's a work of art. Skoal, my brother.
Kerry, my wife and I are moving to Bellingham WA... rather than managing design-team/procurement/subs/craftsmen etc as a Contractor, I've decided factory-built is the smart way to go for an old retired guy. We've been Googling all the Mod/Mfd builders in the Pacific Northwest... your YT site has opened my eyes to a world of design and options I didn't know existed. Subscribed and very appreciative of what you are doing. One builder you should look at up here, Timberland Homes... outstanding architecture, meticulous build.

wow their smallest unit at 424 sq ft is 350k that is absolutely insane. Prefabs are supposed to be a cheaper alternative to buying an already constructed home. But in my area i can buy a already constructed family home with 1200 sq water/electricity aready hooked up, along with a 1/4 acre of land for 300k..

Kerry, Your videos and insights are greatly appreciated. I think I've watched this one and the other Lloyoll videos 3 times each!
I'm curious if they ever thought about making the guest suite its own product. I'm guessing they're targeting the high-end buyer, so they wouldn't want to dilute their brands (not necessarily a linear extension of thought here), but the fact that they have constructed the add-on suites, plus have a connector makes for an interesting way to "enter" their offerings, then add on the high/backcountry cuboid or bungalow later. I would actually do that right away on one of properties because the roads to it are primitive (and I mean primitive) and crossed by washes that constantly erode it, so I'm not sure a crane could get to it to put a high-cuboid. My property is 20 acres and covered with large, mature Juniper and Cedar, so the initial build could also become a guest house or some kind of short-term rental, and still be hidden from a future main house. Just a thought.... If I decide to contact them in 2025, I'll certainly explore the concept. Thanks again!

I'm flabbergasted. First off, Jonathan Lloy ( who looks like Chris Isaak ) and Kerry Tarnow are the sexiest men alive !!! How lucky are we to get both of these Men under the same roof ?!! Second, we get to see yet another segment on the Lloyoll prefab, the best prefab house in North America. This home was built specifically around a client's needs, not mine, but upon more scrutiny, these are the changes I would make in this house:
    1) I would add a second refrigerator to the left of the small refrigerator in the kitchen, or instead use a full sized Sub-Zero or Fisher Paykel. Especially because these homes are out in nature, going to the grocery store could take some time and in wintry weather so it's nice to stock up on groceries. There's plenty of storage throughout the home so the loss of one cupboard is negligible.
    2) As an avid cook, I would add a kitchen island and a stand alone gas oven, either by Wolf or BlueStar.
    3) There's no living room so I would delete the bonus room and loft beds on top and expand the floor space to make a large living room. (Imagine how great it would be to have an original circa 1960's Nakashima coffee table in the living room.) You'd still have a nice 3 bedroom home, each bedroom separated from the next.
    4) As others have noted before, I would add a second bathroom. I insist on a bathtub too. (I love bubble baths. Sorry not sorry.)
    5) I don't like black toilets. They're weird. Give me a white porcelain throne. White porcelain sinks too.
    Bonus additions:
    5) For complete luxury, I would use wide plank reclaimed dark walnut wood on the floors and ceiling. (No, dark wood will not shut out the ample light in this home.)
    6) Call me spoiled, but I would order the unit with tall ceilings in the two ancillary bedrooms.
    7) Add skylights in the entryway and bathrooms. Windows in the bathrooms too.
    8) I saved the best for last. Install an even bigger wood burning fireplace.... disgusting !!!
So this in my dream Lloyoll home. I would want the Skali model too. I'm a sucker for Corten steel but the Shou Sugi Ban wood is convincing, though I'd want more char on the wood. Here's the thing. Jonathan Lloy can do all of it !!! He's a master builder and architect and will cater to your needs. The only problem, you better have deep pockets. Quality costs.
    I bow. 🙏🏼

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but does anyone know what financing these prefab homes is like? My husband and I currently live in your traditional home and I would love to buy a plot of land and build on it. I’d initially been looking at the tiny home idea for in a similar vein of course the container home idea. I like being able to design it for our needs specifically. Prefab homes are nothing like they’ve been years ago this video and others of course, shed a completely different light on that there are certainly more environmentally conscious than any of the we have for our 120+ year old home any suggestions on the financing aspect would be helpful and much appreciated.😊

Thats a fair question, its possible they have another bathroom on the property that I didnt see 🧐

    • @larkspur77
      @larkspur77 4 месяца назад

I need at least a bath and a half in order to maintain peace just between my husband and myself! So for a family or quests it's a necessity. If you're paying a lot you should expect at least a bath and 1/2 preferably 2 full baths. If your building with a flexible builder then why in the world would you not insist on that?

Whoops. Forgot to include pricing. At least general ballpark would be nice. Is it 200-300k range? 400-600k range? What is "efficiency?"

Style points seem to define that, rural deluxury.
One thing would be to invent a tall wall of cabinets that has a built in ladder, or if to really show off, a ladder converted into a escalator kinda like those that roofers use to send the bundles. Or, a centralized robotic arm with a chair for ultimate in relaxation that positions the occupant directly at any height to reach shelving and replace stairs.
A lazy susan built into the house to rotate the wall around for a giant single room structure that morphs into other rooms, and as it spins around, murphy furniture seems to fold out from the walls, videogame consoles and pinball machines and cotton candy and popcorn machines and even the floor reveals a brunswick pool table, that was made in new brunswick to make it more authentic, and to ensure they are getting a new product, a NEW brunswick table!

I guess I’ve made a couple of (negative) comments regarding my concerns of the Lloyoll products become they’re the most beautiful and livable looking prefabs on the market and I’m looking them as my future home and these items I’d need to have addressed in “my future build”.
