It is mad that Holden never put any paint or protection on the bare steel. If it was my car I would be taking the cowl panel off and cleaning and painting. You have gone so far it would be a shame to miss the last major rust trap. Keep up the good work. Dont loose faith, you will get there.
Thanks heaps mate, yip that panel was removed and thank God it was pretty good, check my other video ruclips.net/video/8LcP3ftdIlY/видео.html This shows the cowl after the car was sand blasted.
@@The-State-of-it I had seen that video and forgotten you had done it. It was a little while ago. When it is finished the car will easily last another 50 years.
Haha yeah he attacks me in bed sometimes when I'm sleeping 😂 thanks heaps, one way or the other there will be follow up video to this if fixed, and fixed perfectly!
We are actually really close to getting the body done, geez it will be s great moment and video when I get the body certification. That's great on the cat, one of those things I'm not always sure if I should put in but glad I did 😂
Hope you find the cuts you need, a real shame this new corrosion has been found. Thanks for the video. You must really like that cat, I'd have had rid of him. =)
Can you shape a substitute that meets structural integrity standards even if it isn't a perfect replication that will still allow it to make roadworthy?
damn thats more rust than I've seen in my VL scene, sorry about that. TO be honest, heaps of VL to VS cars get a "tidy up" spray job and they're still on the road but its people like yourself that want to do it all so go for gold it takes time and a bit money but satisfying getting results in the end.
Yeah I was a bit surprised myself when I stacked it up! The problem i have is the car has to be completely inspected for rust and any repairs certified so it can be legal again for New Zealand roads. They would have found this and it would have failed. I know in Australia it's way easier, we get nailed here in NZ.
Hey mate yeah he has got me in the middle of the night a few times when I've been asleep 😂 he's either super friendly or trying to attack! Cheers for that, I suspect Paul has a plan in mind 👍
My old boss bought a new HQ Statesman & it had zero underbody coating anywhere, it rusted out in 18 months. After a lot of hassle & threats Holden replaced it!
That's the problem with these cars, heaps of places didn't gets any paint, under the roof, plenum chamber, obviously this bit I'm showing. Not sure if Holden will sort this for me 53 years later 😂
You need to sign that cat up to a contract before he gets talent spotted 😂😂
@@paulduff1795 sorry Paul, people like your fabrication work but compared to a cat attacking a person, well that's hard to beat 😂😂

Yes, didn’t foresee peeps owning them 60 years later😎
This is the best HQ build I’ve ever seen this is how it’s done ✔️ perfectly. You’re cat 🐈⬛ is psycho 😂😂😂😂😮

Doing a great job, at least it will all be gone, and 1 of the cleanest HQ Stato's around, cat had us in stitches 😂😂😂 🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🍻🍻🏔🏔🏔

You’ll get there mate, hang in there
Thanks mate, its actually really close!
Hang in there, crazy cat looks exactly like mine! Keep up the great videos as well.
Haha yeah he is either the nicest cat ever or super aggressive and attacking! Will keep them coming, hopefully more progress and not setbacks 😬
Urrrggg the damn rust! 🤦♂️
Good job chasing it all down and removing it!
The Cat is funny as! 😂👍🍺
A lot of chasing! Haha yeah he is all good, loves hanging in the workshop 👍
Was hanging out to know how the restoration was coming along. Thankyou!
All good thanks for watching 👍
You need to look in Australia, there are lots of parts cars still for cuts
Yip you guys have all the parts and fairly lax laws on rust compared to Nz
Hope you find the cuts you need, a real shame this new corrosion has been found. Thanks for the video. You must really like that cat, I'd have had rid of him. =)
Thanks mate, yeah it's a pity but we will get it sorted. I'll have to show a video of the cat being nice 😂

your cats got issues mate hahahaha, there should be parts in OZ available if you wanted to freight it over. i will keep an ear out for you.

Bloody cat!! Haha Shame about the extra rotten steel!
Haha yeah he got me good, bit like the rust got me good too 😅
Looks like a job for Yorkshire Car Restorations.
Shame they're the wrong side of the planet though !
Have you seen the fab work in my previous videos? Let me know if it compares to Yorkshire 👍
May see if your fabricator can make something up
It will get fixed one way or the other 👍
Hi
I have a mint replacement panel for that , complete with top .tray and hinge brackets.if you are interested i have it for sale on Gumtree
Dam just remembered that you are in nz I'm in aus
Yip in nz where there are way less rust cuts available and our laws are super strict on rust 😅
oh wow , was that from a leak in the rear window rail , is it only one side ?
Yeah and the water just sits there. Both sides unfortunately 😬
The tower of swiss cheese ... ugh
Haha good name for it 😅
Ask auto karnage channel. He is in Australia can help you out if you don't know his page
Hey mate, cheers we will get this done 👍
gmh always cheeping out….
Just a bit of paint under the roof and sills could have really saved some trouble down the track.
Honk😂😂😂
Yeah he has not changed 🤣🤣 looks like all is going well in Amsterdam 👍
😂Cheers bro, just got back in the homeland now!
