As I always mention when we see the family secret Iida learned- In the real world some escape artists learn to dislocate their own limbs and some martial artists break their own bones to get stronger. It's crazy but it works and "crazy" is a tradition in their profession
Endeavor might be trying to get better, but he still hasn't realized that pestering Shoto with advice and requests for training isn't exactly going to make Shoto happy to take them. Endeavor does genuinely have good intentions this time, but he is still coming on *way* too strong and is kinda trying to push things to go his way, or at least so that he has a *semblance* of control.
That's one of the moments that convinces me that Endeavour is a well-written character. Shitty people won't magically become ideally good. Of course Endeavour is still a poor communicator.
It's a mix of parenting and being a hero. Of course as a person things take time... but as a hero, time could result in death when you can get the leg up beforehand.
He is a genuinely changed man, but he's still very much figuring out how to be this new man. His intentions, motivations, and desires are all completely different, but he hasn't figured out how to behave in accordance with those internal changes yet.
Not to mention that I doubt Endeavor is the type of guy to text all that often. On top of not really knowing how to be a father, the guy probably has next to no cell phone etiquette. He's a middle aged dad, not a hip teen!
jeesh this intro reminded me of my theatre class in highschool when we'd practice sometimes (often) the entire class would get trapped in an endless laughter cycle and our teacher was this uptight really serious lady which kinda made it funnier good times tbh
I like how sometimes the members of class 1A will just casually drop a first name and no one bats an eye. Shoto calls Kaminari by Denki in one of the OVAs and around 10:54 Ojiro calls Iida Tenya
That sneezing thing is not just Japanese, it's also common in Germany... Whenever someone sneezes without being ill in some way or whatever, some people may reply with "Maybe someone's thinking about you..."
It's nice seeing how much Shoto has healed. Like, looking at who he is now next to who he was before. And yeah, it's pretty pathetic seeing Endeavor get all mad about Shoto not responding to him, but like, by his standards, I've seen worse I guess.
I think you both can agree with me that it is really nice to see the people maturing. I would like to highlight Mineta briefly because in the past episodes, he has either made an actual funny joke or a neutral observant statement. The creepy womanizer speech seems to have slowed down, and now we can watch scenes with that character without cringing too much. I appreciate that this awful trait isn't highlighted as much anymore, and hope it will stay that way.
Not a fan of Endeavor either, but i think Montana took the scene of the phone the wtong way, Endeavor was not angry because Shoto doesnt response his messages, he was sad and frustrated, because he really wants to improves his relationship with his son, but feels like Shoto doesnt put down the wall, and i mean, is logical that Shoto still resist to it even if he said that was willingly to see if Endeavor wants to chance, and i think that Endeavor knows that but even knowing it cant stop feeling frustration about it, he needs to be patient.
i know that whole sneezing situation in reallife .. here in germany we have a saying that if you have a hiccup someone thinks about you and when you have to sneeze dispite not being sick someone talks about you ^^
Next episode things will get cubical. While I loved the Ida section, its't quite disappointing that Nakamura doesn't show up for the rest of the season.
@@HaydrogenBomb Yutaka Nakamura is on one the animators on the show. He is usually brought in solely for big action scenes with lots of movement and impact frames. he animated stuff like All Might fighting the nomu, the final part of Deku vs Todoroki, Deku vs Bakugo, the Iida scene next episode and Deku's Manchester smash in season 6.
Alright Match 3 has arrived! I’m really excited about this match…and maybe less for this episode in particular. There’s still a lot of good here don’t get me wrong, but this is where this arc has just found its completely unmissable pattern. So I gotta call out some nitpicks and minor issues. I’ll have to separate the complaints and the proper analyzing. There’s 2 episodes per training match save 1, and that’s a LOT of time. Don’t get me wrong considering the giant wells of info I find in each of these it’s necessary. But there’s a few things that hold it back. Setting aside season 1 syndrome for the background sometimes, I think one of the big ones is the environment itself. I have to make a LOT of comparisons to final exams which is honestly the BEST training arc of MHA. And that’s where you can identify the issues. So…spoilers (not really) but all 5 matches happen on the factory field. (I wanna say it’s called Field Gamma?) The single most noticeable problem with that is that we have now seen not 1, but 10 have been introduced ON CAMPUS and one of the training buildings is literally built for many environments being the USJ! And LAST training arc being the provisional license exam ALSO had a wide variety of environments. This arc would have been a HUGE benefactor of using them and got people thinking about the area differently. Each environment worked EXTREMELY well for both the pair of kids AND the teacher and that is no different for 2 team ups of 5. And because they didn’t take that route, that means this arc is THAT much more likely to feel repetitive. This is such a strange one off anomaly it sticks out like a sore thumb. In a perfect world I’d have -Round 1 be in the forest zone where Koda and Jiro fought Present Mic. Which is a beneficial environment for all 9 fighters. -Round 2 be in either the pillar room Hagakure and Shoji fought Snipe or the rocky terrain Mineta fought Midnight -Round 3 be in the Coliseum Tokoyami and Tsu fought Ectoplasm -Round 4 is BUILT for this stage no notes -Round 5 I’d pick the city All-Might had Bakugo a healthy meal of cement and asphalt and made Deku sound like an empty water bottle And what I liked so much about final exams is that they were PLANNED. There was reason for the partnership and the opponent. For weakness covering, weakness symmetry, relationships, and just straight up punishment. (Legend still says there’s 2 perfect gigantic butt cheek prints on Deku’s spine, and Bakugo’s skull has perfect finger dents on it. No I won’t stop bringing up how much All-Might OBLITERATED the two of them) This is what let the gushing of the peanut gallery be so vocal AND unintrusive at the same time. Because it wasn’t random the kids got to speculate WHY decisions were made and ask for the two cents about the teacher they were fighting. While they need to start figuring out that teams aren’t assigned a lot of the time on the field, it’s also just better structured to let the kids have more reasoning. Or have the teachers look at the random teams and say don’t look at the individual kids, look at their teamwork and what they would want to accomplish. Which is there, but not as much as it should be. Plus I would have Class A completely focus on a critique for Class B and vice versa. (Because Class A and B are in sync with each other as a class already and are both essentially fully established family units now.) There’s ways to accomplish this without hindering the pace of the combat.
The English dub wasn't quite able to do Endeavor justice, here. In the original Japanese, it's hilarious seeing Endeavor behaving more like a helicopter parent who doesn't get the whole texting thing with their kid at first.
Alright let’s cover some good stuff. Had to cover some issues with the arc in another analysis because despite there being problems with this arc, BOY does this arc still do A LOT. And this arc is still a LOT better than most people say it is even with its clear issues. Tokoyami gets consoled by Komori after…let me check my notes, BORDERLINE ATTEMPTING TO MURDER HIM. At least he doesn’t take it, AND she accepts he has every reason to be ticked off at her. Girl next time you use that move, accomplish the job then IMMEDIATELY give medicine to the victim instead of a 5 minute friendship speech 1st. Because that Darth Vader mushroom is NOT a move you want to last a long period of time. Especially when you’re TRAINING and the victim is, checking my notes, NOT A DEADLY THREAT AT ALL. At least Deku had the decency to be full of adrenaline, going through hysterical strength, and had over a dozen broken bones when he tried to kill Todoroki RIGHT AFTER convincing him to use fire by choice for the 1st time in the show. I’d say “at least”for Bakugo, but he causes serious bodily harm too while making it sound like he really is going to kill you. And he’s had perfectly normal moments between so he’s obviously in the clear too. God now that I’m thinking about it, both Todoroki and Tsu have literally committed war crimes at some point in the show. Alright I love that Monoma is going out of his way to instigate the team he’s specifically fighting in a few rounds. (He’s setting himself up to be teamed up on so he has more chances to copy later) I have to wonder if he has copied Kendo’s quirk the most from the neck chops. I’m going to assume he CAN copy from that because that IS contact. I mean it’s useless to go looking NOW due to his time limit, but I’d bet Monoma if he wanted to could literally just waltz around the 40 kids AND the teachers and copy their powers for the fight whenever he chose. He ultimately doesn’t which is a respectful decision honestly but between Aizawa, Midnight, and ANY other quirk from the others, he would make everyone look like they got nothing on him. Also it would not surprise me if he tried to see if All-Might still had a quirk to copy. (God imagining Monoma thinking he’ll turn into a 10 foot tall muscle giant is just hilarious imagery) “I am here, not startling you” is DEFINITELY up there in the I am here All-Might quotes. I still think “I am here in a bizarre position!” Is still at the top but the guy was literally mid panic attack over Gran Torino existing in his proximity. Also goes to show how much Deku trusts Uraraka to just straight up tell her yeah I’m doing extra training with All-Might and she doesn’t even question it. Everyone used to be visibly confused All-Might would give Deku this extra attention and they still find it odd. (Mina would rather taunt Uraraka knowing extra details. And I notice Mina didn’t seem to be enjoying Deku analyze everything while Uraraka did.) Hopefully no one puts together All-Might was talking to Deku BEFORE his secret was revealed about his visible appearance. Because they DID walk in on Deku talking with All-Might in small form openly once or twice. Which Bakugo doesn’t hesitate to just say you guys are REALLY bad at this. So allow me to join you in this top secret quirk conversation when Deku and I are SO communicative. No potential eyebrows raised. Speaking of no potential eyebrows raised, All-Might decides to say “This is all new territory. I’ve never heard of spontaneous activation before.” …All-Might. That’s a weird thing to highlight man. Don’t get me wrong with the fight timing coming up it IS the biggest thing to look out for. It may have just been a 20% wind rush but if he’s physically active and his 100% lets loose? The collateral has put the fear of god in some of the strongest classmates. But he DOESN’T give any focus to the vision and the 1st talking to him except in his own thoughts, doesn’t tell Deku we’ll investigate the vision, or anything. Like this is his to contemplate on WITHOUT Deku. And keep that in mind. All-Might has been very quiet about OFA’s history even with what he’s divulged. He hasn’t told Deku about Nana outside appearance, he hasn’t told Deku he could have had a talk with Nana while fighting AFO, he doesn’t tell him Nana was KILLED by AFO and not that Shigaraki is related to Nana by blood. Or the report on Gigantomachia appearing either. He is keeping Deku as much out of the history as he can even with him SURE there are pieces to the puzzle AND the 1st going out of his way to say YOU NEED TO SEE THIS NOW. It’s…kinda disturbing in all honesty. This is a high level dad conversation so I also know it’s for his protection in some way. Momo is shown to need 30 minutes of healing. She honestly took next to no damage in her match so that whole bit about her keeping the body matter until AFTER she releases the creations seems all the more likely. That’s a huge longevity and endurance boost for her if that is the case. But she also has to let it all go eventually and it makes her pass out. That’s fun. Tokoyami shows that he’s been thinking nonstop of the season 4 finale battle and wants to do right by the heroes who saved the day. Todoroki is…less certain of that sentiment. As he recalls the power getting knocked into his head by Endeavor. And we get SOME new information on Big Brother Touya. Fire that had the potential to surpass Endeavor…but had his mother’s weak constitution. Or to put it another way, he had an exceptional fire quirk, but at the very least didn’t have very much fire RESISTANCE. In the few flashbacks we got of him present, he was the redhead and he was not the tallest and definitely leaned to the skinny side. And I noticed this recently. In all 3 moments he’s been in, two stills 1 animation of him falling over playing with a ball, he always has the longest sleeves of his siblings and he’s always with Natsuo and Fuyumi in those shots. So he might’ve been ironically cold a lot. I had to go DEEP to find Touya details prior to this episode. At least today Endeavor wants to show Shoto on Shoto’s terms and not his own. Which IS a good dad thing to do. But that requires communication Shoto is under no obligation to commit to. Which is also very satisfying because having good dad intentions DOES NOT MEAN it’s accepted considering where Endeavor is now as Enji. (And another Shoto scream!) But roller skate villain is subdued! Speaking of big brothers, we finally get new Tensei Iida info! He’s doing fine! (Immediately cuts to him right after getting taken down by Stain) HE’S FINE. Wheelchair bound for life but FINE. He’s ready to teach one of the biggest power ups of the ENTIRETY of Class A and B. Recipro-Turbo. This is a MASSIVE boost. Not only does it take an absurd will to even unlock, (he freaking towel gagged himself while he took out his pipes!) but the sheer LEAP from 10 seconds of a speed boost to 10 MINUTES. That is a 60x stamina boost (that looks familiar) and I don’t think that’s the only thing that boosted to that extent! Despite that many feel like Iida falls off in both power and character importance in the show, Iida is likely seen as #2. Todoroki and Iida are seen as the 2 most powerful students of the 40 in all likelihood by their classmates and faculty. Deku and Bakugo can likely outperform them both in the right conditions since they are more balanced speed and power, but Iida DEFINITELY stands tall as the fastest, and Todoroki is the most powerful so long as Deku continues to enjoy keeping his skin on his body. So this team is STACKED. Good reason why this is Class A’s offense. Add Ojiro and Shoji everything is just BUILT for just brute force on another level. Not to say Class B isn’t stacked. We FINALLY get to see their class big guns. We’ve never seen their 2 recommendation students in full action or their vice rep. And we finally get to see one of them get to go all out. This balanced squad has several balanced mindsets and temperaments, preferred strategies, and good combinations of long and short range. (They say they have no scouts but that doesn’t mean they can’t workshop that) And their active showing this episode is…weird. They did the best they could because of Pony Tsunotori. She’s an American exchange student and in Japanese Sub when she gets ticked she screams in full English. In Dub…they decided to make her scream in Japanese…in the form of her yelling English…with Japanese subtitles. That’s a choice. (Just have her shout in regular Japanese! 2 sentences couldn’t have been THAT hard right?) Next time is my favorite fight of the arc.
@@everburnthe Bakugo match is WILD. And I do love it. But I had been waiting for Iida to step up for SO LONG and then he got one of the top showings in the arc

2 sentences couldn’t have been THAT hard right?)
Next time is my favorite fight of the arc.
Agreed. This is my favorite match of the arc. It's so dynamic.
@@HaydrogenBombI’m glad they gave Iida the honest biggest power up too. He REALLY shot up. Been excited about this upcoming batch to deep dive.
My favourite battle is with Bakugo
@@everburnthe Bakugo match is WILD. And I do love it. But I had been waiting for Iida to step up for SO LONG and then he got one of the top showings in the arc
I need a blooper reel of all the funny moments between you two 🤣
Say what you want about Endeavor, but he is genuinely trying to make ammends with his children. I would give anything for the parent who abused me to do that, but I'm sure I would have reacted like Natsuo.
Kenny's shirt said professional yapper.
Sen Kaibara can make any part of his body spin.
ANY part 😎.
Fire reaction 🔥🔥as always - Correction Iida moving at lightspeed not mach 3
"professional yapper"
Iida is so cool, hes my favorite character. He is especially awesome in the next episode
that intro made me fcking giggle you two are GREAT
Don’t worry about the beginning Montana.
Kenny is a professional yapper.
Next episode is one of my favorite parts of MHA, love your video's keep it up :D
I hate, that I got spoilered about the thing at about 10:12...
I watched the first 2 seasons, after that I watched it via your reactions and some days ago I saw a clip at Instagram... This is so frustrating now. 😂
Intro Hall of Fame contender
Speaking of flocks voice actor you guys should watch sk8 the infinity if you guys ever want a quick slice of life that still has a lot of psychological stuff
Iida...i don't know how to express the disappointment.
With Mach 3 you should run on water like Barry Allen for f**k sake.
Poor tetsu, getting shade from Montana
Let's react: bloobers! Episode 1 take 20!
The intro was hilarious
Funniest. Intro. Ever! 😂😂😂😂
13:21-13:32, that joke didn't translate well.
Gyrate is the name of the quirk. Im pretty sure his hero name is Spiral
I'm enjoying this, especially with what comes next.
I NEED Kenny’s shirt omgggg
Can Kaibara rotate EVERY body part 👀
We were all thinking it. 🤣
Every person thinks this when they hear his power 😅 They just had to go and call it gyrate
@@aquashuriken1634 What's that got to do with anything?
Endeavor got under montanas skin😂.
How the fuck do you… lmao most accurate moment
best intro ever😂😂😂😂
19:08 LMAOOO montana

Tetsutetsu's got that other 'level' of Flat Earth energy...
Another request to check out Lycoris Recoil
3 episodes Till SOMETHING COOL 😉
16:10 😂
Montana really has some real daddy issues huh…considered therapy
My guy, this was established a WHILE ago.
Given the depth of the vitriol she's displayed concerning him I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume her spite is quite warranted. Besides, who doesn't have parental issues to some degree in our generation? lol
@@saimaanasraidu750 She *does* go to therapy. And she has said some things that point to her father being kind of abusive (don't want to assume, but that's just how it sounds to me), so I don't exactly blame her.
Her dad was worse than/the same as endeavor, I’ll leave it at that
@@jeremygilbert7989they’re free to bring stuff up on their channel, I’m not gonna say they shouldn’t, but I think some people enjoy this channel but also use it as an escape from the real world, and hearing about peoples personal IRL issues that are pretty heavy can take people out of that escape
1:19 - Today you’re gonna WHAT?!
Dabi spoiler😮
HUSH
20 hours ugh
There are some really good stuff in this season, but this season (especially this arc) uses WAY too many flashbacks to previous episodes. It really messes up the pacing and gets annoying very easily
match
I still think dub ruins everything specially with minata’s voice and the feeling of the actual scenes
