Wow, Andrea! That video was amazing. So helpful, for so many. I started getting anxiety when i was two, I've never been on medication for them, but just like you, wanted to learn how to deal with them on my own. A couple of things that gave helped me are 1) cutting out sugar in my diet, this has helped so many other things with my health and body, but made my panic/anxiety attacks almost non existent. 2) adding lots and lots of green leafy greens into my diet. They're full of folate, which helps your body process "stressful" situations better. Also adding in a vitamin supplement that has FOLATE not folic acid is good as well. 3) taking magnesium/epsom baths weekly, to multiple times a week. All of these things have helped me along with all of the suggestions you gave as well. ❤️✨ Good luck on this journey, it isn't easy and so irrational. 😭

as someone who also suffers from panic and anxiety attacks, i know EXACTLY how you feel. Your description of feeling trapped is bang on. It is so hard to explain what it is to someone who has never had them. Stay strong, they will get easier!

I've been suffering from panic attacks for a few years too. I didn't know for a long time what that was, always thought it's something with my body instead of a brain. And I think it all started when I fainted for the first time in my life unexpectedly while visiting a museum. Ever since then I hate being in small rooms, crowd and my heart pounds without a reason. I can relate to every word you said, Andrea. Thanks for that vid!

I just started having anxiety attacks within the past year. The first time it happened I was at work and had no idea what was going on. It's a scary feeling. I felt trapped inside myself. Sick to my stomach. My nerves were crazy and I felt like my heart was gonna beat out of my chest. I do some of the same things that you mentioned in this video. Essential oils are amazing. Coloring or doing crafts works as well. I've also noticed that walking around and trying to focus on something else, also helps. I try to get out of my head and tell myself I'm gonna be okay. Thanks for sharing your experience with this and ways you cope with it.. It's helpful to know we aren't alone in this. I'd love a video about essential oils as well, they've been so helpful for me.

Escaping from the physical environment is a commonly reaction for people who suffer from the panic attack. I don’t know when it started, and I don’t know what I can do to make myself feel better. No reasons to explain, it just gets to me unexpectedly and suddenly. I understand you, and I feel you undoubtably

When I was 16yo I was diagnosed with a digestive chronic disease, at first it was ok but with time I started to have anxiety to be sick in public, and it was like a vicious circle, I was anxious and so I was sick etc, I finished locked up in my room, for years, before having a good treatment for the tummy at 22yo. But after that, anxiety was still here, I was unable to go out. I finally understood that I needed help so I saw a psychologist and from here everything has changed, it took time but I was able to go out, and beside of that Photography helped me alot to continue to go out, even today it's my principal motivation. I still have big anxiety moments but I know how to deal with it better (mostly with breathing). All I want to say is that sometimes we need help and we have to accept it, for long I refused the psychologist and it was a mistake, I live much better now. I hope it will get better and better for you!

Thank you so much for this video Andrea. I guess by watching your social media, i would never would've imagine that you had anxiety. That's the things about social media.. that you see everyones lives and they seem so perfect so you end up feeling more alone than ever. I've been dealing with depression and anxiety since i was a teenager and my anxiety got worse 4 years ago since i moved alone to another country.. i was in denial for a long time and i got used to feeling like that, but i decided to do something about it and started seeing a psychologist and taking pills (even tho it wasn't my first option either) and i feel better now, but there are still days where i can't function normally. I really liked your tip about being honest about it instead of hiding it, because i always pretend that everything is fine, because i have a hard time accepting help, and being vulnerable. What has helped me, besides therapy is keeping myself busy with things that i enjoy doing, and keeping a routine. Being in nature is extremely helpful, so every weekend i go to the mountains. Stay strong!!

    Take care 💛

Thank you for this video. 🙏🏻 I know when I have found you that you mmm... have damaged once. I felt it, you know. Maybe people who has anxiety feel each other better that people who hasn’t anxiety. I don’t know. Sorry for my English - I’m from Russia. My first panic attack was in 2011. My life has divided on two: life before panic attacks and life after. I didn’t understand what’s happened. I was crying... More and more. Please, be careful - treat your anxiety with doctor, because if you will do nothing, your anxiety transforms in very big trouble, which called depression. I have read many information about anxiety and panic attack on Internet (Russian sites). But now I’m in depression and that’s bad.

This video came at a perfect time for me, thank you so much for this. I have been struggling with anxiety for many years but i feel like it's gotten worse & worse each year. I had a panic attack yesterday & it's just like you were saying where you feel like you're dying. Your chest gets tight, heart hurts, my head hurt, I couldn't breathe properly, I felt like my blood pressure was so high I was going to have a stroke!- & I was looking for an escape. Just like you said. This one I think was triggered from just a lot of life style changes coming up. I graduate college this December and am applying for residency programs at big hospitals and have interviews and I think I just got overwhelmed and freaked out. I don't want to go to my interview tomorrow because of it but am trying to face it and be strong. Thanks for making this video so I don't feel so crazy and alone with these same feelings. I would love to see a video on oils!

Thank you for sharing your story with me! I know how hard it is, I'm so sorry you feel that way! Did you go to your interview? How as it? You have to accept that you react to stress differently than "normal" people, our bodies react so strongly to stress, it's just a way for your body to tell you something!

Yes we would love to know which oils you’re using for different things. Also, if you’re into natural medicine, a lot of times anxiety comes from an underlying health issue in your gut. A good probiotic will help with that to balance you out. The same thing was happening to me. Music helps so much too! Thanks for sharing with us ❤️

That's really great that you're talking about it openly like that. I also had that in my life at a period. But I managed to let go and now it stopped.
One of the things I used was homeopathy as well as bach flowers and californian elixirs (I see you're using them too).
Homeopathy is really efficient for the emotions too. So finding a good homeopath could help big time! Have you tried meditation? Because the fear comes from the mental taking over but when you're more "conscious" and observant, the mental can't rule anymore and if you're in the present moment, there's no fear. So meditation is really a good training. Have you ever try reading The power of now by Eckhart Tolle? This could also really help you a lot.
Things like yoga could also be efficient, since it's like a meditation in movement.
Also, maybe you could try meating with people who are working with holistic medicines, like reiki, shamanism, magnétisme, tibetan bowls...etc. That could help to let go of the emotional blocage/cristallisation inside of that that's responsible for that.
I'm rooting for you! All those things really changed my life, since I really couldn't go out anymore (I would have panic attack /vagal attack just thinking about it sometimes). And now I'm fine.
Sometimes I can still feel my mental trying to go in this direction (since the mental is often not in the present moment, but in the past or future. so he's always creating "what ifs" in your mind. even if there's no words put onto it.), but I just observe and take the control again (not letting the brain control) and it stops.
So, I dunno whether you belive in holistic medicines and healing techniques, meditation...etc., but you should give it a try if you've never tried. It really helped me!
    Hope that helps you too!

I recently came to the realization that so many instances in the past that I wrote off as claustrophobia, etc. actually fell into the category of panic attacks. It was really nice hearing that from you- and seeing how you're working through your anxiety. Trying the essential oils tip rn as i finish the video! My anxiety has been so bad the past month, I've never felt this much or this way before in my life. At the beginning of it I thought it was going to be temporary, so I smoked to cope, now I can't eat, sleep or function w/o smoking. I just spent over 3 hours trying to eat a bag of saltines because I was sober and can't stomach anything & have spent the past 5 convincing myself every few minutes that I don't actually have to throw up, that I just need to calm down. Hopefully the oils help & hopefully I can find time to address the anxiety more and learn to deal with it! Thank you for the video it was perfect timing in my life, especially hearing that it started later on in life for you too, it makes me feel less alone about this coming out of no where. I'm used to depressive episodes, not this.

    Ton témoignage me touche beaucoup.

Bisous

So relatable, but inspirational too. I found peace in hiking alone and away from the city/town and noise. Great video. You and Alex seem so genuine. Are you still enjoying Montana? I’m thinking about moving to the Whitefish/Glacier area when I’m ready to move on from Alaska.

That was really well done, thank you so much for sharing that! Yeah I keep hearing about more and more people who experience that, including my wife. I’m sure you’ll hear from lots of viewers who want to share similar experiences.

Thank you, Andrea, so much. I started having so many panic attacks as you six months ago. It's a nightmare, there are days that I can handle myself and other days that it seems impossible to live through the day. I'm following a CB therapy but I don't want to take any medications because I've tried with Xanax and it just suppresses my feelings and I couldn't understand the reason of my anxiety. It's not a solution for me. I would be really interested to know more about essential oils, I've always wanted to buy a diffusor for my bedroom. Ps: do you have any problem to go outside alone? I'm becoming agoraphobic too, so when I go somewhere I have to be with someone else or in the moment I close the door of my apartment I starting having difficulties on breathing.

I would love to make a video about oils so you can learn a little bit more how to use them! I sometimes get anxious when i'm alone too .. when i'm home by myself i always have to have a show on my computer or on the TV on because the silence stress me out!

i was able to do it, but i didn't, i was just terrified
Edit: it's nothing compared to your experience, i'm sorry you had to feel like that :c
