Hello everyone. I found the need to slow things down again since a lot of sad things have been happening. With the tragedies in Nova Scotia and the passing of loved ones all the while the pandemic is still hanging, I'm hoping this tune will bring some calming.
I dedicate this video to my Sister-in-Law Nancy (Gould) Gallan and my long time friend, Bob Fillmore, both of whom just passed on.
PS. Sorry to push bass player Ray J. (RJ) off the video. He was a bit disheveled. He'll be back next video.
I first heard Ray Leger playing with Mitch Harrell in Ottawa at a Valley Grass Concert in the Ottawa Police Association Hall. He was filling in for Mitch Harrell's regular Fiddle Player who didn't think he could make it across the Border from the U.S. 8nto Canada for the Concert Tour... Boy am I glad he couldn't make it as I discovered Ray Leger.. What an accomplished musician and Canadian Treasure ..... 💙 🇨🇦
A very nice version of that song.Superb playing on all instruments.
Old songs just get better everyday. From a Ray to a Ray. Hey ya'll.
This is soooooo AWESOME! AMAZING!! Love your playing!!
It's as if the late great Chubby Wise were guiding your hands from some place far away...Superb!
Beautiful.
One of my favorites...❤
My all time favourite fiddle tune,, thanks for this,, and for sharing your talents
Thank you, MASTER! I've had the pleasure to work with the great late Vassar Clements and I'm sure he, Don Ulrich and my Dad are smiling from Heaven! Grammy quality, truly...
Superb..!!
An amazing Ray Legere playing his instruments & playing Maiden's Prayer~ ~
Ray it doesn’t get any better than that. I’m going to steal every lick I can. Wow that was special.
Bob Wills cover I believe. Recorded by many great fiddle players including Don Rich of the Buckaroos on one of Buck's albums. Great version right here. Amazing musician.
just found this...beautiful
Great version of this song Ray, perfect tempo and feel with tasty fiddle ear candy. IMHO.
I just wish I had known the lovely Maiden.
Beautiful tune and so nice to hear this morning. Sorry to hear about Nancy knew her thru curling may she R.I.P.. My condolences to all the family.
The melody of this song was composed by a Polish lady (then 17) Tekla Bądarzewska-Baranowska, in 1856.
Ray you are the best 3:51
Thanks. I enjoyed this a great deal.
BRAVO!!!!!
And such is the lot of all bass players. Couldn't ever get a 'Zoom' room. Alas! :)
What talent! Beautiful old fiddle song. I don’t know how you do this.
Great player.
So sorry to hear of all the sad events happening in your life. However the Maiden's Prayer is beautiful, it is a beautiful way to pay tribute. Condolences on behalf of your family.

Wow I am so grateful that you are sharing these Ray. Does my covid heart good.
amazing Ray.. Thanks, and I think you kind of all look alike actually ! lol
Sounds wonderful, Ray!
Awesome Ray! Love this tune!
👍
Great version! So, I have a question.. probably a dumb one.. lol.. Did you just record each video and sync them together? I've been wanting to do that, I'm probably making a way bigger deal out of it than it really is. lol
Thanks for the comment. I start with one instrument and listen to a click with inear monitors. In this case I believe it was guitar. Then play live to the previous recording with another instrument. So each instrument is live and in sync, just at a different time. The bass video in this one disappeared but I had the audio, too lazy to redo it lol.
No music notes??
