- This is the story of how RUclips fame nearly killed me. Career burnout led me to seeking inner peace through the new age practices of yoga / meditation, only to discover the practices are not all they are cracked up to be. This is my story of finding Jesus, and how he has changed my life.

I’m not really sure if this matters at all, but I wanted you to know, that you were one of the first photographers I found on RUclips. A few years back, I had a life altering stroke due to a hole in my heart that I was born with, but never knew. I used to be a physical artist, but because of the stroke I have lost my ability to write and draw in the same way that I used to be able to. Photography became my artistic outlet, it became a lifesaver for me. I began to search on RUclips for helpful videos and you were the first person I stumbled across that I was impressed by. It’s not much, but I wanted you to know from the bottom of my heart you truly inspired me and are helping me in so many more ways than you could possibly imagine. Thank you for your honesty, thank you for your courage sharing with all of us, and most importantly, thank you for making me feel like I now have a purpose. Hey, thank you so much for sharing your journey! However, I need to get this out: You can not diagnose schizophrenia, bipolar or any other mental disorder simply by looking at brain scans! We can't look at a scan and go "oh, that person has depression", scientifically we are absolutely not there yet. Don't get me wrong, I believe everything you said, but be careful with looking for objective proof for it. It's easy to just look at all the things that are speaking for one side without questioning them.
Also, I'm horribly sorry for your experiences at the psych ward, that amount of medication was not okay. I hope you won't have to, but if you start to suffer mentally, don't be afraid to consult a psychotherapist - psychiatrists are sometimes quicker with just giving you medication, wheras psychotherapists are more interested in behavior and thoughts. Please don't give up on the entire mental health system, I know for a fact that there's also a lot of good people in it. ;) Either way, I wish you all the best! Don't settle for less than happiness, may god always be with you on your way!

There is an saying in my language "Athikam aayaal amruthavum visham aan" which means Even if it is Divine nectar when consumed beyond the limits of what is necessary, Will act as a poison. I just want to tell you that don't take anything to its extreme even if its religion, spirituality or even youtube, it will lead you to bad places and will end up disastrous. Bro, I'm gonna be honest, I'm so far from believing in God or Jesus, or any other spiritual beliefs for that matter, but saying that, I watched this documentary from start to finish, not because I believe in what you're saying, but because I believe that you believe in what you're saying, and I will not judge anyone who has different beliefs to myself. The important thing is that you have found what you need to become you again, to make you feel loved and whole. Life is so important, and it's such a powerful thing to be given life and have the abilty to create it.
I have struggled with my own menthal health and well-being for many years, suicidal thoughts and tendencies, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, etc. but for me personally, I find my comfort in my own family with my wife and my children, I have peace in my mind with them by my side, I wouldn't be half the man I am today without them.
Mental health is difficult to explain to anyone not going through what you are going through, and it can be draining and destroying having people think you can just "get over it" and things. What you have experienced is life-changing, and it's with these experiences you can better yourself. I don't think anyone will ever be "perfect", I think that's an unreal expectation for anyone to put on themselves or anyone, but we can all be the best that we possbly can be, and that's good enough.
I'm glad you put this documentary together because it really has been eye-opening to see what you were going through, and it is inspirational to so many people. Congratulations Hayden, from one creative to another.

When i started watching your videos it was the start of something amazing, it changed the course of my life and made me the person i am today and to be honest its so amazing how god lifted you out of all that darkness, i come from a background of hinduism as well and it ruined my life and i was even attacked by the deities of it but jesus saved me from all of it and its amazing to see one my favourate creators following our lord and savior. Talking about these things, makes you such a strong person man. I think many people, sometimes including myself, can find themselves in your story in a certain way. The will of becoming famous, the hope to be in your position, or at least how people see the fame. But reality isn't shown enough on RUclips. Fame, all the energy, it simply comes at a price!
You've always been an inspiration man and you're one of the reasons I started making videos too. It's hard, costs a ton of effort and engergy, but in the end, you just need to stick to doing what you love, not what people expect from you. Just keep doing whatever you love and just post whenever you feel the need to. Your content is great, you're perfect the way you are and you inspire so many people!

Ok so I rarely watch such a long video but I watched it until the end because I saw your ascension on RUclips in real time and I am an old subscriber. I hope you're doing well but what I recommend is not getting stuck on religion or taking everything to extremes because maybe that got you into trouble in the first place. Just live a balanced life. The fact that you have such a wonderful family will surely help a lot. The fact that you worked a lot to build your channel is great and you shouldn't feel bad about it because you made a lot of people feel great. You just need to learn how to take breaks. I don't want to say anything wrong here but a friend of mine went through some similar stuff and it was because of substance abuse..I don't know if that was your case but those things really screw with your mind and some don't recover

One of the articles mentioned in your video wrote that meditation and yoga were from Hinduism, Buddhism (which the west considers as religions rather than dharmic practices) etc, which were considered demonic practises. Is this how you feel or were you simply after the quotation you used in the same article? I am all for someone finding their 'calling' that helps them be better and healthier people, Jesus and Christianity is an absolutely beautiful example of this. Sure yoga/meditation has been sold to many western countries, as an Indian grown up in the west, I can see it has become often perverted and has been exploited in many ways deviating from what it originally was used for. Ancient Indian (and many other cultures too) philosophy often speaks about detachment to worldly things to enter Moksh(a)/Nirvana etc such as money, fame, power, food even, concepts humans have created such as status love etc. Yoga and meditation were often simply tools for such things. If yoga and meditation were solely used for such things, is it still considered an evil demonic practise? Any tool can become a weapon, if used a certain way. I don't think its right to say meditation and yoga is the answer to everything and everyone, but id say it has helped people such as myself and my ancestors going back 8000 years ago in some compacity. Is that not great? Or does the perverted practice outweigh the good?
I respect your personal journey and am genuinely happy for you, your videos were some of the first I watched before becoming a pro photographer myself! I value your input and journey through Christianity, but as meditation is something I loved learning about through my own practice of Jainism (brother of Buddhism) a similar pacifist practice, it pains me to think it led you to something that harmed you, rather than enrich you. But I believe that it may not be down to the inherent practice but rather the practitioner or the teacher. I respect all faiths and practices that do not harm ones' body, mind, heart and soul. I argue my understanding of yoga and meditation is not demonic, as I do my best through it to do good and do no harm. You say that it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, which is completely fair as its your personal experience amongst those around you who agree. But was it because yoga and meditation is bad or was it used for the wrong and/or misguided reasons?

I suspect if all this is real, it’s merely the beginning of Hayden’s journey. He has much to learn but his soul is ready. He is still very young.
You touch on a very good point. Let's add that the practices he was doing unguided alone are usually held in community or with the guidance of elders. I have personal accounts of someone going to Hayden's point of reality changing - which was extremely scary - the monk / teacher then asked the person to stop meditation for 2+ years, ground back in everyday life and after more teachings and being able to see trough, easing back into it. If you truly tap into the teachings of the Hindu/Buddhist practices you will quickly understand this is completely normal to be confronted with those states and that there is actually guidance available.
Last but not least, let's not forget that prayer is meditation. Christianity has contemplation practices, devotional chanting, prayers etc exactly like you do in Buddhism and other eastern practices. It's all the same, simply under different book covers.
He has a long journey in front of him, this is just the beginning. May you and all be free from suffering.
This guy just went to one addiction to another. Literally ANYTHING is bad if it's in excessive consumption. Someone who has a healthy mindset can meditate do yoga now and then. Same with prayer. Working out etc. However, if (like this guy) have an addictive personality they will go way too hardcore into anything and cause mental health issues to themselves.

Hayden really inspired me, got me to use my dads camera, go out shoot. I saw all the adventures Hayden had, going place, having fun with the boys. I was young, I didn't have anything to lose but I many things were going through my mind, photography got me to stop thinking. We all go through hard times, but there will always be a solution to the problem. We are glad that you are fine, and you will definitely have more and more great achievements, whatever your next step is, it will be great and you will never stop inspiring.

I don’t understand why people can’t practice their religion and use their coping mechanisms without demonizing another’s religion or tools. There are thousands of people that meditate involving chakras and kundalini that don’t go to psych wards or feel spiritually attacked.

Been following you since I got into photography back in 2019. Glad to see you back my friend. Miss seeing all your amazing youtube videos. I kinda have a small youtube channel myself but got caught up with trying to get likes and subscribers and views to the point where I was always depressed. Ive stepped way back from it to the point where Ive made only 1 video since new year and have only made 8 videos in the last year. I was at ine time making a video every 2-3days. I've been a subscriber and a fan since 2018, when I fell in love with photography. I'm so glad to see you doing much better man. I'm not a Christian, but I do believe in spirituality. I believe that's where we can find our peace and happiness. I was never a fan of medications. I think they just mask problems, make you number and sometimes even more aggressive with their side effects. Truth and balance is found in spirituality, and in life itself, it is not something you find through medications. It's great that you are getting off of them and you found an healthier way to live a better life.
With all that aside, you're an amazing videomaker and content creator, keep uploading more videos and I'm happy to keep watching your stuff!

Wow DUDE! this was so powerful, I totally agree with you on no matter the number you will always be lost, I hit 2.2 million on tiktok and never felt lower, I just felt lost even more, this really brings light to creators thinking hitting that number will change your life for the best, it is in fact the complete opposite, the only true grace i found from this job, is having the time to spend with my loved ones, being able to provide for them and live comfortably, but as for fame or getting acceptance from the world. That has never come and I am happy it hasn't as I now see the light in the dark and really thank you for opening up on this matter, amazing story and so damn happy you have come out the other side to tell the tale
So in his view, since I suffer from depression and anxiety and am on light meds, I meditate my whole life, I do not believe in Jesus, I’m certainly going to hell. This is the issue I have with “Christianity” it sends everyone who does not believe their teachings to hell. It’s called dogma my friend. I believe your experiences, but do not interpret what happened to you thru the lens of religion. Study Carl Jung, Sigmond Freud, Rudolf Steiner, Rosa Cruses, Krishnamurti, Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Adyashanti, Joseph Campbell, Alan Watts, ppl who have taken teachings from the east and made them understandable for the west. To take Hinduism, Buddhism, as demonic shows lack of wisdom on your part. Which can be forgiven because of your young age. Study more about what happened to you. “ One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. “ Dr Carl Jung. You have a lot to learn Hayden.

Thank you for sharing your story! I went through something similar, as I entered into yoga and meditation, it was as if a spiritual warfare had been battling over my life. Kundalini is not a thing that you do on your own. I'm from India and I know what I'm talking about. You need a guru who mastered this who could guide you in the journey and you should devote your life for this. You should be detatched of the wordly things and only then you are allowed to practice this. Hope you read this message and get some guidence.

Not that I am a believer as such but it’s hard to argue with your experience. I’ve been down dark holes in my life but nothing as deep or dark as yours. I’m so glad to hear you have a new lust for life and truely feel you are on the right path. For me it doesn’t really matter why or how as long as you are in a better headspace, each to their own.
