Thank you for your question! I believe you are asking about the rya knots? To create such a texture, weave a few rows of short rya knots, and then you can cut/ shape them as you like. I usually create them short and textured by using a thick, chunky yarn. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Can I ask what the needle is called? I've been trying to find some but can't work out what they are called to search. Thank you for the tutorial
You're welcome :) This is a tapestry needle. They come in a variety of material and size- it's key feature is a blunt point. I hope this helps!
