I was practicing heelflips for a few hours the other day and I feel like this will help others trying to learn it:
Think of it like an ollie then kicking your foot straight off the side of the board straight afterwards. Thinking of it like an ollie will help keep the friction to the board and will allow a more effective flick. Thinking of it like an ollie will also help you keep your body over the board and not overthink which way you should be leaning. Hope this helps!

I've been skating for 10 years and this spring when the snow melted I COULDN'T HEELFLIP ANYMORE!! I literally had no idea what was going wrong I've been skating long enough that I can usually self diagnose any issues, adjusting weight distribution, set-up, truck tightness, changing where/how I flick off and literally nothing made sense. Sometimes I could land them and other times I'd be totally hopeless. TODAY I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT! WHEN LEANING BACK YOU MUST STICK YOUR REAR END OUT FURTHER TO GET MORE WEIGHT BEHIND THE BOARD! THIS ALSO HELPS YOU SEE THE BOARD ROTATE UNDER YOU! before I was literally bending straight down to pop and trying to lean my shoulders back which would put my head behind my knees so I could hardly see the board rotate as well and made you land with your weight way to far forward! Even if the board stayed under me and I jumped on it I'd fall forward when I landed.

i used to suck at kickflips but could land some dinky heelflips, then i learned how to do kickflips pretty good and couldn't do heelflips anymore. just tryng to learn them both the expert way now. the beginner/intermediate kickflip usually has a flick right after the pop there's no distinct ollie. but the proper advanced kicklfip works just like a heelfip, you ollie then flick like a one footed ollie

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell. The biochemical processes of the cell are known as cellular respiration

    • @kendo512
      @kendo512 6 лет назад +19

These energy rich molecules are known as adenosine triphosphate, or ATP for short. ATP acts as the energy currency for cellular processes by maintaining a high energy, unstable bond between the second and third phosphate. When energy is needed, the third phosphate is cleaved off, producing ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and a lone inorganic phosphate, along with a burst of energy which can be harnessed by other proteins in order to drive their function.

Saw the ride channel how to video; practiced for hours couldn't get the board to land under me never landed a heelflip. Saw that foot movement at 5:29, stopped the video, practiced that same thing for 20 seconds, and landed 3 clean heelflips in a row. Thank you so much Jonny. I like these a lot. I like your channel a lot.
"All fours" and to "perfect trick tips" are by far the best.
I also like the "trick controversy" clips.
    The classic was
"This is an impossible this is a 3 shuv!" Such a gangster edit.
I dare someone to say that out of all the revive/force wheels heads your content is the most legit to the core skater.
(Jason Park is top dog in my eyes though but theres rarely something new to watch)
Almost all others revive/force wheels vlogers are really hard for us older skaters to watch.
things I would enjoy looking at if you have the time besides skating.
Graffiti that's around your area. I seen a piece by a German writer in your home park who was famous at one time in your older edits
Maybe if you know any decent skaters who are also writers you can film some time lapse clips of throw ups or maybe a burner.
Aswell as your local graffiti scene I'm interested in looking at the local scenery.
Montage shots of where your from can be good filler for content.
Maybe some live music of a friend who skates as well.
Obviously I don't know nothing about your non skate life or responsibilities at home. If you don't have many responsibilities hit the road for a bit.

Hey Jonny, I have a question.
I just came back to skating, it's been like 8 years since I last popped a trick, and I'm having some trouble with landing even the basics like ollies and stuff. The major issue that I'm having is keeping my legs on the right position to land and the board is rarely under my feet, I always fall off the board or with my toes touching the ground, ruining the landing. I can't quite remember what I used to do to avoid it.
I've been noticing that when I'm about to pop I twist my hip, making my shoulders do an angle with a line that passes perpendicular to the trucks (I don't know if it's very clear). Like for example: when I tried a 360 flip (I thought I still had it), I was looking at the board's nose, my body was that twisted.
Well, the question would be the following: do you always keep your body (let's imagine it as a plan that cuts through your shoulders and knees) on the same line of the trucks or you twist it a little bit?
I understand that it can vary from personal choices or some tricks may have it's particularities, but is there a common tip you could give me? Maybe I need to reeducate myself, I must've learned it wrong back in my "learning for the first time" days.
Oh, that goes for you guys on the comments too, if anyone could help I would appreciate.
    Thank you for your time.

It's been a year since I started skating. I was the first one to ride a heel flip, but the more I do, the more I can't do it perfectly.

I skated goofy and was left footed so heelflips were incredibly easy for me. I was able to heelflip before i could kickflip which is the other way around for most people.

Bro exact same, I went to my flat ground spot to learn big spins, and I ended up landing a kickflip, then the next day heelflips came with ease

Whenever I try to heelflip o don't even come close to flipping the board, instead the board does a pop shove. After I practice doing the foot movement over and over for a bit and I think to myself "roll your ankle and so a judo kick off to the side a little bit" then it flips but I still rarely happens and the board shoots out forward. It's so much easier to kickflip and I'm not even close to landing kickflips

I like to set up my heel flip with my heel hanging of the backside of my board like a kick flip position only a little further back, than I just snap the tail and let my foot cone all the way across the board so it pops a super high heelflip that comes up and catches my backfoot, not my backfoot catching the board.

Heelflip was my first trick different than ollie and shovi it variations. As expected after training a lot the trick it became great, beuatiful and with control. After learning kickflip and variations of it my heelflip became ugly and I don't know why. Then i googled and found out that base with the back foot in the pocket and the front foot just a bit outside (toes) It worked better and it has pop, sometimes i do wrong but just concentrating a little i can do it. Right before that i was feeling my foot on the skateboard like it was talking to me where to put my foot on and i was listening, That helped me too. Why my heelflip became horrible even though i practice?

My problem with getting heelflips behind me was that I didn't focus on popping my shoulders and arms backwards. Almost everyone who's got heelflips that you see will do this without thinking about it. Try it... It works.
