TOSLINK devices don't use lasers to send the single down the plastic fiber optic cables used in home audio devices. They use LEDs. Lasers are used in commercial and telecom networking applications where glass-based fiber optic cables are used.
Many Audio devices don't have HDMI since HDMI is for Video. So HDMI does not make optical obsolete in any way.
I'm looking for an HDMI splitter that can do minimum 1440p at 120fps, WITH optical. They don't seem to exist. Any ideas?
