Thank you for the whole journey being at daytime, in good light, for not choosing a day with fog or heavy rain. Nice to be able to appreciate such fine scenery.
Thank you for continuing to upload these. Whenever I cannot sleep or need to calm down, invariably I put this on with something suitably ambient in the background (usually Canadian artist Loscil) and very soon my eyelids are feeling heavy and I'm just where I want to be. There is nobody else on RUclips getting it quite right, so I hope for many more road trips in the future!

I also come from Germany and live in Cologne. I also find these videos very good: All in real time and with precise data about places, counties, states of the USA (including a map), speed, altitude, date, time, geographic coordinates (you can look up on Google Maps or Google Earth where the car is currently) and distance to the start of the trip. Very beautiful landscapes. This is really perfect!
I love these videos! As someone who is unable to drive due to a disability, this is a fun way to imagine yourself behind the wheel! It would be cool to see a real time road trip along the entire I-10 corridor from LA to Jacksonville! Half the time you’ll be in Texas (my home State) lol
I can't wait to do some more road trips after this godawful pandemic is over. I also want to do complete "highway" road trips, such as all of US-50 from MD to CA or even doing I-10 from CA to FL.
Best video yet. This drive though back country roads, away from freeways is an absolute delight. Usually I watch 2 x speed, but this I watch real time all the way through. It's so nice cause you get to actually see something of America, rather than just freeway and trees lining it. We see small towns, and the whole style of the two states. Loved it.
Fantastic! And thank you for showing my late grandfather's home state. I'm brazilian and I haven't had the opportunity to visit West Virginia yet. Unfortunately on this trip you did not pass through the city of Thomas. I look forward to the next videos!
Thanks. I actually drove through Thomas in my Day 2 video (ruclips.net/video/CGj4DcqKhN0/видео.html). You can see Thomas just after the 4-hour, 1-minute mark of the video.
I enjoy all of your videos, but I really love this one. For me, it is much more interesting to drive through the countryside and especially through the pretty little towns and villages on the smaller roads - the country roads sung about by John Denver - than to speed past everything on the interstate. This region is really beautiful. Not for nothing did John Denver call it "almost heaven". Thank you so much for the chance to travel there even during the LockDown. Take care and stay healthy.
Thank you! I want to do more long distance road trips using lesser-traveled roads like many that I took in this video and like my West Coast road trip video in the future. The interstate can get boring after a while.
I love West Virginia! I was in Winona and Fayetteville back in the late 90s and fell in love with it. Dirt roads, winding roads, mountains, loved the hollers and all the animals and the sky... at night there were so many stars and black sky that you don't see in the cities like New Jersey where I come from. The moon was so big! We stayed in a mobile home in the holler in Winona. So peaceful and relaxing. Saw New River Gorge Bridge, crossed that, went into Fayetteville. Saw many things... gorgeous state. Love the Appalachian music also. Whenever I hear Country roads by Denver, my mind goes back to West Virginia.
I had lived in WV for a total of about 10 years in different areas of the state, and it's only a half of a day's drive from where I currently live in Herndon, VA. I try to make a trip to WV every year, and even when I'm by myself I really enjoy it.

Perfect video of very nice roads. Unfortunately I had to cancel my planned USA Roadtrip this year, I hope I will be able to do it next year. As I am a big fan of real-time videos, I am very glad you decided to post it first. Watched today 6hrs of it, tomorrow the rest :) And the day after tomorrow day 2 of your trip :)

Good thing you had the mustang because some of those backroads were a handful! I always said West Virginia and PA have some of the most challenging backroads especially WV where they look fun to drive, but you'd better be on your toes!
I actually did this in a Ford F-150 that I rented from Dulles Airport. I agree about the roads. I briefly lived in Roane County, and there were some roads that required 4-wheel drive for sure.
@@unclecoolie Oh, I'm really surprised the F150 was able to handle some of those blind curves and it even looked like you either hit something or something hit you on the road. So I'm assuming you rent out your vehicles instead of using your own personal ones?

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like there is something on the road so maybe the jerking of the wheel to avoid it caused things loose in the cabin to shift and make noise???
That's exactly what happened. The camera was also mounted to the windshield on a suction hanging on a adjustable hinge that was a little loose, so that large bumps caused the camera to shift like that.
I love your roadtrip but man please keep right also if you are doing the speed limit. I know you are allowed to overtake on the right but that sucks so please don't block traffic flow.

I always look before doing something like that.
Camera??
The Garmin Virb Ultra 30.
for Europeans it is quite difficult with height difference and kilometers. we are not used to Feet and miles🙈🙈
I'll use metric when I do the time-lapse version.
@@unclecoolie When will day 2 road trip video come out because real time is quite fun to watch
@@Bassiebas_NL I am planning to have it uploaded in the next few days.
and the dot's gray this time. it used to be red
Yes, I changed it.
2:52:42 what happened there?
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like there is something on the road so maybe the jerking of the wheel to avoid it caused things loose in the cabin to shift and make noise???
That's exactly what happened. The camera was also mounted to the windshield on a suction hanging on a adjustable hinge that was a little loose, so that large bumps caused the camera to shift like that.
А почему разделительные полосы не жёлтого цвета? В Америке вроде жёлтые.
The dividing lines are yellow. On way sections of freeways, the yellow line is on the left side of the road.
hello again i want to ask when you the upload more please?
I will be uploading the 2nd part to this video over this coming weekend.
I love your roadtrip but man please keep right also if you are doing the speed limit. I know you are allowed to overtake on the right but that sucks so please don't block traffic flow.
I usually stay right unless I'm passing or unless someone comes up from behind me in the right lane.
I went to West Virginia twice
normalne tępo normalny dźwięk. takie filmy mi się podobają
What will be your next road trip after this one
I'm not sure yet. I am planning a trip next month, but I haven't finalized it yet.
I think the Lee Jackson Hwy name is double-doomed.
It's only a matter of time.
Can you do a trip to Wisconsin and back
I have a trip planned that would go through Wisconsin, but I'm not sure exactly when I can do it.
Wow, you really like West Virginia
I used to live there year ago, and it's a one-day drive from where I live in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Западная Вирджиния очень красивый штат. Чем-то напоминает мою родную Украину.
It is!
I literally live Near Arlington
I used to live in Arlington. I now live only about a mile from where the video starts.

3:45 Passing by the giant CIA buildings
I'm very family with them. In almost every year, a new building is popping up there.
That’s gonna be the new Langley pretty soon, its already about the same size. Also, thumbs up for doing the drive on 50 all the way to I-79. 50 from Romney through Mount Storm is brutal especially if you get car sick easily.
