Washington to Washington in under 90 Minutes!

- 3,142 miles (5,056 km) in under 90 minutes, from Washington to Washington! This is a 32x speed of my now popular road trip from May 3-6, 2018. Since I speeded up this road trip by 8x faster than what my 11-hour, time-lapse version was uploaded at, I increased the frame rate to 60 fps. I also reduced the subtitles to only what town/city I was passing through at the moment, and I added some music to this video. The other graphics are shown as with my previous videos, with the addition of the distance display. Since the distance display only shows the distance since the last stop in the video, I added text just below it stating the total distance of the trip done up to the last stop.
The complete video in 4x time-lapse:
• Washington, DC to Seat...
Real-time video links:
Day 1: • Washington, DC to Wild...
Day 2: • Wildwood, MO to Aurora...
Day 3: • Aurora, CO to Caldwell...
Day 4: • Caldwell, ID to SeaTac...

Average speed of 100kph (60mph), sped up 32x makes it 3,200kph (2,000mph). That makes it Mach 2.6 which is even faster than the fastest fighter jet in the world, the Mig-31 Foxhound which flies at 1,900mph (Mach 2.47). Lucky you didn't run into any crosswinds :P

I have to say I loved all the real time vids, but it was nice to speed it up through the Midwest lol. Idk how you didn't die going through Indiana and Illinois, such boring states, at least Kansas had views lol. The west is the best reward though. I'm from the east coast but there is nothing like the vast and amazing scenery of the western us. I mean don't get me wrong the east had it's beauty too but it just doesn't compare to the west. Anyway love the vids man and stay save with your travels!!!
Thank you! I agree that Illinois, especially, was pretty boring.

I really enjoy the high speed time lapse. This is the first of your videos I’ve watched. I’ll watch some others but I enjoy covering the entire distance at this speed.
Thank you! This is the first time I sped the video up at 32x. Most of the time, I use 4x or real-time. My videos from 2017 and early 2018 are at 7.5x.

Fascinating, what a beautiful country.
America has it all
This is the 2nd Unclecoolie video where the Kansas sky has just blown me away. It’s just like the Toy Story wallpaper. Something about the flatness of the land, and the cloudy sky stretching all the way to the horizon is just mesmerising. Loving the videos all the way from Australia :)
Thank you! I actually enjoyed driving across Kansas. I think it was partly due to waiting to see the Rockies eventually.
Colorado is beautiful.
Thank you ❤

It’s great to have these when we have nothing but free time! I hope you are able to travel and make more soon. I also hope that you and your family and friends are all well.
Thanks! I hope so, too.

You have to just love driving I assume. I’m sure you’ve bonded with a ton of music due to the memories it creates on the road. I hope that makes sense:)
I love doing drives like this, mainly because I don't get the chance to do them often. I listened to a lot of music, such as AC/DC, Metallica, Anthrax Killswitch Engage, Ozzy, etc.
You should drive from Vancouver to Quebec City and from Calgary to Yellowknife! That would we a really cool drive. Also the trans Labrador highway is a nice barren drive
I would love to one day!
I can't believe i actually thought this was gonna be 1 second long?
Also can you drive across the entire state of texas? Thank you
I like how u say it likes it normal 🤣🤣
One day I plan to. I'm hoping within a few months I can resume road trips again. I had a nice road trip planned before this godawful pandemic happened.
It feels like I'm on a roller coaster that's going 100,000 miles per hour
this is the future of driving it takes 1 hour to drive across the country
I slept thru the flatlands of Kansas and Colorado.......;)
Kansas and Colorado are so flat, but at the same time, it's just a hill that you're slowly climbing when traveling to the west until you get to the mountains in Colorado. Then it's a slide when you're traveling east.
That was one of my favorite experiences was driving across the Great Plains: the topography just got flatter and more open as the elevations went up.
Hey you drove through Heber City UT. I've been there many times.
I remember that city well. That's close to the western end of US-40.
Here's an idea: Seattle to Miami (Northwest to Southeast Road Trip) This is a 3,297 mile route that would take 48 hours of non-stop driving. Assuming you drive at 8 hours a day, it would be more like a 6 day trip instead. Here's the trip in a brief summary: As previously mentioned, you start out in Seattle and start driving East. You have to drive across almost all of Washington, before briefly passing through Idaho. Next, you're going to have to pass through all of Montana. You'll just barely pass through a part of Wyoming, and pass all of South Dakota. You'll briefly be in Nebraska, and then Iowa. Afterwards, you'll be in Missouri, narrowly avoiding Kansas. Then, you have to travel through all of Missouri, pop up in Illinois for a while, and pass through Kentucky. You then have to travel through Tennessee, and into Georgia. At this point, you will very narrowly avoid Alabama. After leaving Georgia, you'll finally be in Florida and travel practically all of the state until you hit Miami.
Here are a few cities you will drive through/pass.
Washington: Seattle, Spokane
Idaho: Post Falls
Montana: Missoula, Billings
Wyoming: Colony
South Dakota: Rapid City, Sioux Falls
Iowa: Sioux City
Nebraska: Omaha
Missouri: Kansas City, St. Louis
Illinois: Mt. Vernon
Kentucky: Paducah
Tennessee: Nashville, Chattanooga
Georgia: Atlanta
Florida: Gainesville, Orlando, Miami
Using average summer temperatures by state, the highest temperature would likely be in Florida. The lowest temperature would probably be in Wyoming. This is seen from these average summer temperatures of the following states in Fahrenheit:
Washington: 63.8 degrees
Idaho: 63.7 degrees
Montana: 64.2 degrees
Wyoming: 63.5 degrees
South Dakota: 69.9 degrees
Iowa: 71.6 degrees
Nebraska: 71.8 degrees
Missouri: 75.4 degrees
Illinois: 73.4 degrees
Kentucky: 74.5 degrees
Tennessee: 75.6 degrees
Georgia: 78.7 degrees
Florida: 81.0 degrees
The highest elevation would probably be in Wyoming, with the lowest elevation possibly being in Florida, seen by average elevation by state (in feet and meters.)
Washington: 1,700 feet (520 meters)
Idaho: 5,000 feet (1,520 meters)
Montana: 3,400 feet (1,040 meters)
Wyoming: 6,700 feet (2,040 meters)
South Dakota: 2,200 feet (670 meters)
Iowa: 1,100 feet (340 meters)
Nebraska: 2,600 feet (790 meters)
Missouri: 800 feet (240 meters)
Illinois: 600 feet (180 meters)
Kentucky: 750 feet (230 meters)
Tennessee: 900 feet (270 meters)
Georgia: 600 feet (180 meters)
Florida: 100 feet (30 meters)
That's it for the overview of the Northwest to Southeast Road Trip.

That would be kind of cool. I want to do another cross-country trip at some point. I have planned such a trip this summer, but prices rising as they are, I'm not sure that I can do it. I will be in Las Vegas for work in September, and I plan to do another road trip in and around Vegas at least. @@unclecoolie I covered that with the original 4x speed version. All four days has its own playlist, and runs the gamut from ELO to Yes, the Beatles to Foo Fighters, etc. Works great with the music (even got the song "Highway 61 Revisited" by Bob Dylan synched with the short journey up the last remaining miles of I-64. The part you enter mountain time zone was actually interesting
It's interesting how the time zones were formed, such as the fact that several of the western most counties in KS went Mountain time, but the rest of the state stayed Central.
You are goated
I’m interested about your videos. How to make the map on top? And make the read point moving with you?
I use the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information. The Virb software puts the GPS information on the video, including the route line with the red dot. All of the rest of the graphics are made and edited using Final Cut Pro, which is what I use to edit the video with.
That gas station in Alleghany County, Va you stopped at.. I used to stop there each and every day when I was going to college in Clifton Forge. I'd fill up before heading back over to Lexington lol. It's like a 26 mile patch of road between Lexington and there with no other places for gas.

I've always wondered why you use the metric system for distance and elevation since I assume that because most of your trips take place in the US you're American. Not that I mind it though, I'm from Europe and used to it.
I am American, but I know that about 65% of my viewers are from outside the U.S. I use English units for my real time videos, because a higher percentage of views come from the U.S.

Thank you. Yeah, I used the raw video and sped that up and only added town names as the subtitles.
Damn....what a video. I watched it from start to finish...and i can count the number of times i blinked.
When you blink, you’ll probably go about 300 feet without looking, or 600 feet, if you watched at 2x speed.
