Here's an idea: Seattle to Miami (Northwest to Southeast Road Trip) This is a 3,297 mile route that would take 48 hours of non-stop driving. Assuming you drive at 8 hours a day, it would be more like a 6 day trip instead. Here's the trip in a brief summary: As previously mentioned, you start out in Seattle and start driving East. You have to drive across almost all of Washington, before briefly passing through Idaho. Next, you're going to have to pass through all of Montana. You'll just barely pass through a part of Wyoming, and pass all of South Dakota. You'll briefly be in Nebraska, and then Iowa. Afterwards, you'll be in Missouri, narrowly avoiding Kansas. Then, you have to travel through all of Missouri, pop up in Illinois for a while, and pass through Kentucky. You then have to travel through Tennessee, and into Georgia. At this point, you will very narrowly avoid Alabama. After leaving Georgia, you'll finally be in Florida and travel practically all of the state until you hit Miami. Here are a few cities you will drive through/pass. Washington: Seattle, Spokane Idaho: Post Falls Montana: Missoula, Billings Wyoming: Colony South Dakota: Rapid City, Sioux Falls Iowa: Sioux City Nebraska: Omaha Missouri: Kansas City, St. Louis Illinois: Mt. Vernon Kentucky: Paducah Tennessee: Nashville, Chattanooga Georgia: Atlanta Florida: Gainesville, Orlando, Miami Using average summer temperatures by state, the highest temperature would likely be in Florida. The lowest temperature would probably be in Wyoming. This is seen from these average summer temperatures of the following states in Fahrenheit: Washington: 63.8 degrees Idaho: 63.7 degrees Montana: 64.2 degrees Wyoming: 63.5 degrees South Dakota: 69.9 degrees Iowa: 71.6 degrees Nebraska: 71.8 degrees Missouri: 75.4 degrees Illinois: 73.4 degrees Kentucky: 74.5 degrees Tennessee: 75.6 degrees Georgia: 78.7 degrees Florida: 81.0 degrees The highest elevation would probably be in Wyoming, with the lowest elevation possibly being in Florida, seen by average elevation by state (in feet and meters.) Washington: 1,700 feet (520 meters) Idaho: 5,000 feet (1,520 meters) Montana: 3,400 feet (1,040 meters) Wyoming: 6,700 feet (2,040 meters) South Dakota: 2,200 feet (670 meters) Iowa: 1,100 feet (340 meters) Nebraska: 2,600 feet (790 meters) Missouri: 800 feet (240 meters) Illinois: 600 feet (180 meters) Kentucky: 750 feet (230 meters) Tennessee: 900 feet (270 meters) Georgia: 600 feet (180 meters) Florida: 100 feet (30 meters) That's it for the overview of the Northwest to Southeast Road Trip. Sources: Summary of trip, time driving, distance traveled, and cities passed: Google Maps Average temperature by state: CurrentResults.com Average elevation by state: Wikipedia
It's interesting how the time zones were formed, such as the fact that several of the western most counties in KS went Mountain time, but the rest of the state stayed Central.
I want to continue my west coast trip that was originally planned to go to Alaska instead of just Vancouver, and when I do that, I will definitely take Seward Highway into Anchorage and Route 3 up to Fairbanks. I've even considered driving up to Prudhoe Bay.
I've always wondered why you use the metric system for distance and elevation since I assume that because most of your trips take place in the US you're American. Not that I mind it though, I'm from Europe and used to it.
I am American, but I know that about 65% of my viewers are from outside the U.S. I use English units for my real time videos, because a higher percentage of views come from the U.S.
One day I plan to. I'm hoping within a few months I can resume road trips again. I had a nice road trip planned before this godawful pandemic happened.
ive been really fascinated with how boring and flat the ones in the midwest are, if you look on google maps it's just squares in a grid, very interesting and I don't have memory of them despite going through them when I was a toddler
Would you ever consider driving from Seattle to Montauk, NY? According to Google Maps, the drive would take about 45 hours at the most and nearly 3000 miles from one to the other. You'd probably pass through a large variety of scenery and the entirety of Long Island, while also passing through cities such as Minneapolis and Chicago. I'm saying this because I'm from Long Island and it would be very interesting to see.
I just did a cross country road trip from Seattle in January, so I don't see myself doing another one from there anytime soon. But I do plan to do a road trip up to New York this spring.
I use the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information. The Virb software puts the GPS information on the video, including the route line with the red dot. All of the rest of the graphics are made and edited using Final Cut Pro, which is what I use to edit the video with.
That would be kind of cool. I want to do another cross-country trip at some point. I have planned such a trip this summer, but prices rising as they are, I'm not sure that I can do it. I will be in Las Vegas for work in September, and I plan to do another road trip in and around Vegas at least. I've even thought about doing a complete US highway road trip, like US-50 from Ocean City, MD to Sacramento, CA; or US-6 from Provincetown, MA to Bishop, CA.
@@unclecoolie Any number of highways to travel the full length of. One I always wanted to take involved traveling the entire length of the T.C.H. (Trans-Canada Highway) from Victoria, BC, to St. John's, NL. Too freakin' old for it now (60), so I leave it in more capable hands, like you. Keep up the stellar work!
@@MarkL0360 Nahh, you're never too old, unless you're in really weak physical condition. The TCH is a highway that I would like to take. Some U.S. highways are also ones I'd like to do the entirety of, such as US-50, US-6, or US-1.
@@unclecoolie I'd start the US 6 trip at its original western end (Long Beach) and trace its old path (CA 14 and US 395 up to Bishop, where it begins today).
@@MarkL0360 US-6 or US-50 are two highways that I would like to do a complete road trip of from end-to-end one day. US-50 is the leading candidate since I live just a few miles from it in VA.

The Kansas City that most people know is in Missouri, and it's right on the border with Kansas, with a Kansas City in Kansas just across from Kansas City, Missouri.
I really like the video on this speed. Hoping any future videos can use a similar format. I likely won't be able to travel like you're doing, so i appreciate your videos. Would you consider a Great Lakes Trip around the coastlines?
I plan to do 1-2 more videos of previous trips like this. This works best for trips that were mostly in freeways like this trip. I couldn't imagine doing a hyper-lapse of my WV trip. I have another trip planned when it's safe to do it that will take me along at least 1-2 of the Great Lakes. I am still hopeful that I can do it before the end of summer.

Washington: Seattle, Spokane
Idaho: Post Falls
Montana: Missoula, Billings
Wyoming: Colony
South Dakota: Rapid City, Sioux Falls
Iowa: Sioux City
Nebraska: Omaha
Missouri: Kansas City, St. Louis
Illinois: Mt. Vernon
Kentucky: Paducah
Tennessee: Nashville, Chattanooga
Georgia: Atlanta
Florida: Gainesville, Orlando, Miami
Using average summer temperatures by state, the highest temperature would likely be in Florida. The lowest temperature would probably be in Wyoming. This is seen from these average summer temperatures of the following states in Fahrenheit:
Washington: 63.8 degrees
Idaho: 63.7 degrees
Montana: 64.2 degrees
Wyoming: 63.5 degrees
South Dakota: 69.9 degrees
Iowa: 71.6 degrees
Nebraska: 71.8 degrees
Missouri: 75.4 degrees
Illinois: 73.4 degrees
Kentucky: 74.5 degrees
Tennessee: 75.6 degrees
Georgia: 78.7 degrees
Florida: 81.0 degrees
The highest elevation would probably be in Wyoming, with the lowest elevation possibly being in Florida, seen by average elevation by state (in feet and meters.)
Washington: 1,700 feet (520 meters)
Idaho: 5,000 feet (1,520 meters)
Montana: 3,400 feet (1,040 meters)
Wyoming: 6,700 feet (2,040 meters)
South Dakota: 2,200 feet (670 meters)
Iowa: 1,100 feet (340 meters)
Nebraska: 2,600 feet (790 meters)
Missouri: 800 feet (240 meters)
Illinois: 600 feet (180 meters)
Kentucky: 750 feet (230 meters)
Tennessee: 900 feet (270 meters)
Georgia: 600 feet (180 meters)
Florida: 100 feet (30 meters)
That's it for the overview of the Northwest to Southeast Road Trip.

That would be great to do.
@@unclecoolie Thanks for the heart!
who also saw a road they've been on
Not me, I’ve never been above about 1/3 up in TN
I've been on the first 2 min of roads and that's it

The bit of I-81 south in Virginia I’ve been on many times
You're the best channel about driving, please do more videos about canada and some European countries.
Thanks! I would like to one day.
@@unclecoolie dublin to belfast maybe
The part you enter mountain time zone was actually interesting
It's interesting how the time zones were formed, such as the fact that several of the western most counties in KS went Mountain time, but the rest of the state stayed Central.
I prefer this speed. Love it!

I would really like to see someday a trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Please.
I want to continue my west coast trip that was originally planned to go to Alaska instead of just Vancouver, and when I do that, I will definitely take Seward Highway into Anchorage and Route 3 up to Fairbanks. I've even considered driving up to Prudhoe Bay.
@@unclecoolie Wow, can't wait to see it, thanks.

I can't believe i actually thought this was gonna be 1 second long?
Also can you drive across the entire state of texas? Thank you
I like how u say it likes it normal 🤣🤣
One day I plan to. I'm hoping within a few months I can resume road trips again. I had a nice road trip planned before this godawful pandemic happened.
46:13 did you cut some out? Suddenly it gets dark
Yeah
This was done over 4 days and 3 nights, and that was where I spent the 2nd night of this trip.
American Highways are boring but the passion for capturing road videos must be saluted!
That's why more and more lately I've been trying to avoid excessive interstate highway use in my road trips.
@@unclecoolie you can try more jungle/dessert roads etc. ! & rainy day would be much appreciated too!
@@FrostBite_0015 In that case, you'd probably like my drive across Newfoundland that I did in 2018. Lots of trees, and some rain as well.
ive been really fascinated with how boring and flat the ones in the midwest are, if you look on google maps it's just squares in a grid, very interesting and I don't have memory of them despite going through them when I was a toddler
Awesome vid, wish it was me driving. Different speed limits in the US then, I presume?
Yes, in general, the speed limits are higher in the western states (except the west coast states) than they are in the eastern states.
In my recent road trip from Seattle, I passed through (or close to) Minneapolis and Chicago.
This is something else amazing your very talented
Thank you!
Your welcome
I’m interested about your videos. How to make the map on top? And make the read point moving with you?
I use the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information. The Virb software puts the GPS information on the video, including the route line with the red dot. All of the rest of the graphics are made and edited using Final Cut Pro, which is what I use to edit the video with.
You should do one where it's Portland, OR to Portland, ME, Idk, it just sounds nice, or the opposite
@@unclecoolie That sounds epic
It'd be great if you took a coast-to-coast trip, from Seattle to Boston, on I-90.
I want to do a similar trip once it's safe to do so again.
Great video! 👍, 📹🚘🌻🌻

I love to watch hyperlapse ride! 120 km/h * 32x -> 3840 km/h (2370 mph)! Enjoy supersonic ride!

Uncle coolie can you upload the illinois indiana section ?
It's part of this video already.
Fun fact: If you watch this at 2X speed, and assuming he is going 70 mph in real time, he is traveling 4340 mph
😊
Typically what would you say the costs are for this trip? I’m hoping to do a drive from a Indianapolis to Las Vegas and back.
I spent about $1,800 total on this trip, which includes, the rental car (picked up from Dulles Airport and dropped off at Sea-Tac Airport at the end), gas, food, lodging for four nights, the flight back to DC at the end, and miscellaneous items.
Try going to the plains of Kansas and playing Madonna's 'Ray of Light'. It's a fantastic effect!
I'll try that.
Fantastic! 😊
Thanks! 😊
Of course. Your content never disappoints!
It feels like I'm on a roller coaster that's going 100,000 miles per hour oh and Delawere is my first favorite state utah is my second favorite state And Idaho is my third favorite state

This is how many people watched the entire time when he was in the mountains:
Will you ever do one outside of North America? Also how do you fund your rides I mean gas is expensive.
I did a brief road trip in Germany and a train ride in Kenya, both of which I have uploaded, but so far that's it. I want to do more one day.
Min 31:37, Kansas City is not Missouri State? I remember like Kansas City, MO.
There is a "Kansas City" actually in Kansas.
The Kansas City that most people know is in Missouri, and it's right on the border with Kansas, with a Kansas City in Kansas just across from Kansas City, Missouri.
@@unclecoolie Ah nice, thank you for answer.
Its a great trip!
I made it to 57 mins at 2x speed before I needed a break from music and motion sickness. Will finish it later. At twice the speed again 😂
Excellent!! Those coastlines can be amazing for the lighthouse tour!!
This probably has been asked too many times already, but what camera do you use to record these trips?
The Garmin Virb Ultra 30.
Question, where do you reside?
Fairfax County, Virginia.
@@unclecoolie So you live by D.C basically?
