This is one of those Snyder films where 3 hours are needed to further explain the world and the relationships between the characters. But the visuals and action are top notch!
This and Part 2 will have a 5 hour directors cut

@@Bertelsjanthere’s no right way a movie is supposed to work tho, there are no RULES for art. If you can imagine you can do it. I don’t see all this drama with the 4h cut of Napoleon that Ridley Scott talked about months ago
Sorry to break your heart but Zack , himself butchered this cut. He for some reason wanted a PG cut when noone asked him.
It's weird how when he given chance to go full Synder mode with length and rating he instead opted to put out a poor version of his vision.
Honestly, what's wrong with him ? He seems to never do what he is asked for at first chance!
Now the issue isn't rating but the fact he thought, yes, this is enough. Where he himself chopped of character development and plot. Really confuse me.
Does this guy like negative attention he gets?! Otherwise I don't see how a passionate director who finally given full reign is satisfied with this underwhelming cut.

There were some flaws in stroyline but visually it was just perfect
I honestly had a good time watching that movie. I still have issues with the character development and the story being rushed. But it was a fun watch, especially the second time.
Awesome movie
The CGI is not very good but Snyder somehow makes it fit in to his world. Just like in 300 it doesn’t look fotoreal but it sure as hell looks awesome
I thought the CGI was pretty fantastic for not only a Netflix production but for a blockbuster that only has a budget of 83 million dollars to work with. MCU and DCEU films have budgets of over 200 million dollars these days yet none of their CGI looks as aesthetically pleasing (their cinematography too but that's a slightly different topic).

Zack is the only person who consistently has Great looking CGI and sometimes awful looking CGI but he manages to frame such great imagery that you couldn’t care regardless

I rewatched Dune the other night (second time of watching since it came out) and I have to agree. It's the same run time roughly as Rebel Moon, but feels much longer with its slower pace, and the ending just happens. It's Villeneuve's least emotionally satisfying film to date in isolation. I imagine that watching it and its sequel back to back, or revisiting part one after the sequel will improve the whole experience. In Rebel Moon's case that will most likely be the case with the director's cuts. I feel like the original cuts will always be a little bit too lean to ever be the definitive versions. The same way I can't watch BvS theatrical without feeling frustration.

Fun flick with a lot of issues - really looking forward to that director's cut (poor marketing decision to do that tbh, should've given us the full vision to begin with).
But, if there's anything Snyder has that never fails, it's glorious visuals.

I loved the film, rushed middle act and all....and it's a beautiful looking movie. His prowess as cinematographer has soared since Army of the Dead, using just the right amount of bokeh to give it an illustrative character. This video really shows the visuals off beautifully. Looking forward to the director's cut and sequel.

Ok let's accept the fact that Snyder is a good director but a bad writer because these shots are the proof of his cinematic excellence but the story is also the proof of his writing capacity here.

I didn't enjoy this movie, it kinda feels like BVS all over again where they cut too much footage and now we have to wait for a directors cut. However, this movie looked incredible. I was blown away at so many points from the visuals this movie has. Also Junkie XL did a very good job with the music in this movie. I didn't enjoy the score as much as Justice League, but I like it more then army of the dead.
Side note anyone else find it badass that the motherworlds ships literally shoot nukes from their cannons? It's way cooler than a giant laser beam to me

This movie was awful but I gotta give it to Snyder he has a keen eye for visuals, style and action sequences. Even though this movie is 50% slow-mo shots 😂
Honestly, most of shots are CG probably prepared by previz studio, and they are very generic.
Why so fast ? There IS others masterpiece who wait from long Time to be shown but you put this thing 😅

He could've gotten Larry Fong, Amir Mokri, or Fabian Wagner. Cinematographers who collaborated with him and know how to work with his style. Instead, Zack did it himself, and honestly, he's not that very good.
Cinematography isn't the problem of this movie. It's the story.

Snyder can be a great visual director, sadly not so much for the writing component of film making. It felt like a cheap, less interesting copy of Star Wars. And for the love of god, please stop with those ridiculous slow-motion sequences.
There are a lot of people enjoy his slow mo shots, also this movie was planned as a star wars content in the first place

I like Zack Snyder's movies and support him but man, he really did miss with this one. I feel like the movie shouldn't have been cut at all. It wasn't even that long. It was 2h4m. And they said that the deleted scenes are between 45 mins to 1 hour. So...
As shitty as Zack is at storytelling, his visuals are definitely admirable.
I’m baffled. This film had some gorgeous shots but it also had some horrible shots with some terrible CG. Zack needs to stop being the cinematographer on his own movies.
