  • This film is an invitation to witness the unique techniques of Andre Desjardins' "Visual Emotionism" style of painting, to glimpse into the mind of a master, and to partake of a rare opportunity to feel the transference of emotion directly onto a blank canvas.
    From empty canvas to finished masterpiece, this film gives the viewer the opportunity to see thie work of Desjardins from his own viewpoint and to feel his emotional intensity and focus as he applies and manipulates both raw and blended pigments with bare hands and brush to create a hauntinly beautiful face.

      Tanja Jane I sometimes think how much the world would have missed out on if Van Gogh or Degas had decided to not paint and do something else. It’s never too late. All the best.

    I, myself, is a visual artist. I am currently battling with myself to find "my style". I am very good in realism but my heart and passion is on emotionalism. I paint with emotion and it's so frustrating to see people prefer a copy of reality than pure emotions on a canvas. This made me feel better thank you.

    This is an artist with a lot of expressions living inside his heart. His art, despite how he likes to call it, is expressionism and expressionism only. Loved his technique as well as his imagination.

    • @blowmiedowns7077
      @blowmiedowns7077 5 лет назад +2

      Expressionism only? You're not an artist then. Short sighted expressionism isn't a habit that visionaries practice so why did you even comment?

      @@blowmiedowns7077 @blowmie downs hi, just saw this comment. The artist's anatomy is not masterful. However, his work expresses alot of emotions. Moving indeed. I am not an artist. I draw and paint as a hobby and enjoy the progress. Never sold a painting. See, an artist like Mr. André here, in my humble opinion, cannot draw or paint a happy face. Any face he draws will turn expressive, melancholic or sad. Doesn't mean he is sad. This is his way of seeing the world. Btw, would like to hear from the artist if he read this. Monsieur Desjardins, keske vs en penser? Tres beaux tableaux, touchant. Merci. Thx for your comment

    Fantastic stuff Andre! love how you can see it so clearly in your minds eye, and use your talent to reveal what already exists in the canvass. And to capture the emotion which exists is even more extraordinary. Such great vision. You have truly mastered the skill of seeing into the soul of life itself, and how art can be used to transgress past what is in all conventional terms, considered a limitation.I 'd love to have this hanging on my wall... it would bring a powerful feeling of grace into the room I'm sure. It has its own life energy which you have so graciously offered as if a sacrifice. God will be pleased, as will be deep thinking folk like me, and of course art lovers all around the word. Keep up the inspiration, and don't ever forget that it is grace which allows you to reach such high levels of craftsmanship. If you ever let that fall from it's position at the top of divine priorities, your work, and happiness will suffer. I see no intentions that will ever happen (from observing your video here) so just keep going the way you are man.... your outlook of life, and also the spiritual practice of art you perform, will always keep you grounded in grace, and serve you well. you're a role model for the rest of us, whether you realize it or not. Keep humble, and if at anytime in the future, you feel your ego trying to claim a piece of the pie so to speak, make sure to be vigilant in putting it back in its place. Peace dude!

    Had to stop in the middle because I was sooo excited -- 1:30 - I have always wanted to know if I am the only person that does this. Like Michelangelo, I believe the painting is already there (for the ones that are pre-planned). I thought this might be a sculpture thing, having to do with the structure of the marble, but I've always been curious because there just has to be, right? So was super happy to get that answer. That is all. :)

    They're technique is amazing! I have been a visual artist for 20 + years now and have only just found how to tap into my zone on demand like that in the last few. And it is through something he does very well: identifying rituals that conect with his way of seeing and working and having tools and a studio set up that works FOR HIM INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
    But does anyone else find his super 90's pants, shoes, earring and hair hilarious, but adoreable?

    WOW Such stunning work. So beautiful, and haunting. You are an inspiration! It's so sad to see in the comments here, so many people who are illiterate to art; and feel the only art is pure realism and being accurate. His art is about emotion, not accurate life drawing ffs!

      That's because they don't know the concept of art... small minded people.. I love his work.....

      @@ArtPassword Your need to broaden your mind my friend. Not everything needs to be literal, or perfect. The point here is not the accuracy of the portrait, but the accuracy of the emotion.

    On dirait que les personnages nous regardent et ressentent une émotion, comme s'ils ressentaient la même chose que nous qui les regardons , une espèce de contemplation entre l'oeuvre et celui qui la regarde. Magnifique.

      the canvas he is working on does look like cotton and the medium looks to be an oil and then charcoal. It is simply amazing. I am in love with his talent and he is pretty handsome as well! lol

    Thank you for sharing. I too do work much similar to yours though often many faces emotionally on the same piece. I never could quite put into words how I create and see a piece prior to creating it. I Definitely feel as if the people came to me I feel, but there medieval or Victorian era.
    Your work is very touching to watch you create and your blessed with a beautiful gift.
