Just an fyi, if you cut them into a little bit of smaller pieces, they actually encourage new growth and at different points. I've learned so much about how to cut up strings of things to propagate and have the best success. 😊 When I got mine, the seller told me to cut the long strings down into 3-4 inch pieces because they grow better and quicker that way. The end result months later is amazing!!
SOT are often considered succulents they are also lythophytes (I think that’s spelled wrong) they are like air plants and like to grow in trunks of trees or pourous rocks. They are also from a tropical place so they thrive with high humidity (but since they are succulents don’t like being soggy)
If I wanted to make my pot fuller should I do the propagation in the original pot itself or separately (then add the rooted cutting to the original pot)? Thanks!
Tupperware works just fine. Spray with a bottle and damp the soil place turtles and cover it with the tupperware top set by the window and spritz every 2-3 days only if the soil dried out
Oh thanks for watching!🤗 dude! I’ve already started to see growth on day 2! I’ll have an update video real soon! You’ll have to check it out! Thanks again! Have a wonderful day!☀️

~~enjoyed watching your video. i have couple of questions if you don’t mind me asking… can i use a used sphagnum moss? also, where will i put the container (or pot) for propagation - on bright location or indirect sun? thanks
Hello!☺️ I’d say you can use previously used sphagnum moss if it’s clean of debris/decaying matter of plants used in moss before! As for lighting I kept my container under an east facing window which got direct morning sun, and bright indirect sun for the rest of the day! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!!💕🌱🌱
Oh yay!! How exciting!🤗 It’s so fun to watch these guys grow!🌱 Thank you for checking out my video!💕 Good luck with your propagations!✨ Happy growing!🌱🌱🌱
Hi!! thanks for reaching out!🤗 To be honest I’ve never used mountain moss, but if it behaves similar to spahgnum moss ( absorbs and retains water well) then it might work! Id say it’s worth experimenting with! Let me know! I’d be curious of the results!😁 Thanks for your question and thank you for watching!☺️🌱
Hello! Thank you for your question!☺️ Just from my experience propagating in sphagnum has been the most quick and successful method for me! I think it’s because it’s ability to retain and absorb moisture and also drys quickly! But you can can absolutely propagate your string of turtles in a potting medium! I’ve seen it done by others but haven’t done it myself! If you experiment with propagating in soil of love to hear you results! Thank you so much for watching!🌱💕

So you don't push nodes down into soil, just place over?
If I wanted to make my pot fuller should I do the propagation in the original pot itself or separately (then add the rooted cutting to the original pot)? Thanks!
can you just use normal soil?
Tupperware works just fine. Spray with a bottle and damp the soil place turtles and cover it with the tupperware top set by the window and spritz every 2-3 days only if the soil dried out
I’m propagating SOT too! Hopefully we will get some results.
