Qué bueno escuchar que estén haciendo amigos y teniendo salidas "argentinas" (i.e. tomar mate en la plaza). La vida social en Argentina es de las mejores cosas que tenemos.
Look for a rental in the neighborhood of Villa Urquiza, it's the new Palermo. Palermo is very international nowadays because foreigners choose that neighborhood to live in
Love your videos! I thought I was crazy when I tried the Oreos here and noticed they tasted different (better). I lived in ny for 8 years and moved to Buenos Aires 2 years ago. I'm in love with this city!
Thanks for doing such a detailed video! That rent increase is definitely a lot--as other people in the comments section have said, it might be worth looking into other options. Even though moving can be a lot of "quilombo," it might be worth it in this case.
If you have to move, don't hesitate to ask your Argentinean friends for help, they will be there with you guys carrying the stuff and it will be a fun time.. I have no proof but neither doubt
Hi! Next time in Belgrano I highly recommend going to Belgrano R, especially to Melian Avenue between La Pampa and Olazabal. All the blocks around are great. Also Plaza Arenales in Villa Devoto is great, and so is Barrio Parque just behind Malba Museum and near Paseo Alcorta Shopping. Visit Unicenter shopping if you havent as well! Some restaurants: Sarkis: abosultely legendary. You need to try Kafta de cordero, falafel, keppe crudo, etc Anchoita: probably my favorite. Great fish and steak. Just go 20 minutes before opening (impossible to make a reservation) Japanese: Tintoreria Yafuso (really hard to get in) Nueva Casa Japonesa (amazing) Ichisou Bistro Tokio Maru Omakase Buri Omakase Asian: Basically you have all China Town in Belgrano C but Royal Mansion is pretty good. Ma Po Tofu which is spicy is at least excelent there. Gran Dabbang Sudestada Una Cancion Coreana I could keep on forever ;)

move, landlord usually play that game thinking you are lazy to move. you have little stuff, you can just do it yourself step by step. maybe a friend with a car or truck to move a few boxes and then the last day hire a small truck to move the big things last, like refrigerator and the bed. its called "fletes", they are not expensive if a small truck.
I was there last year from January to March included. In January and maybe half of February the food was 1/4 of Toronto, Canada after that until the end of March the price was 1/2 price of Toronyo. That was the blue price.
Hi from a hotel in Palermo. Interestingly, I was also at that feria in Belgrano on Saturday. Did you see the guy who was singing and sounds exactly like Victor Heredia? I also took a photo of that banner.
You should go to a bazar and buy a stovetop toaster. Warm up your leftover facturas there, I even make my toasts there instead of in an electric toaster because it barely takes up any space. Warmed up leftover facturas are *the best*. Just make sure you don't burn them ;)
Ouch, it hurts my heart that you're buying that coffee! Hmu and I'll recommend places to buy ground specialty coffee that's better than Starbucks's or La Virginia's.
Hola me encantan tus videos , me gustaría que cuando puedas tenga la traducción al español. Se que debe ser más trabajo pero estaría Genial .Gracias !! Saludos 🤗
Argentina is currently expensive in US dollars. This fluctuates often, which is why sometimes chileans cross to Argentina to buy stuff here, and sometimes argentinians cross to Chile to buy stuff there. Same with vacationing locally vs in Brazil, etc. I suspect the blue rate will go up at some point (some estimate around 1,500), and become "normal" again
Hey ! I’m 25 and just moved to BA for a new job and looking to meet locals and make friends - I’m currently very alone here, and love going to cafes, eating sweet treat, going to parks !! How have you found meeting people here? Any advice would be much appreciated !! I also speak pretty decent Spanish too :)

The price increase the landlord is asking for is too much difference. I Would look for another place. I don't know where you are living but there's amazing places inside CABA at affordable prices.
She is using the blue dollar rate which is more or less 1 usd=1200 pesos... ARS$300,000.00 is US$250... This is the cost of buying and selling a physical dollar bill in a cueva, or clandestine financial house in Buenos Aires.

If you make a rental contract in pesos you will always be better off. The dollar will rise. And if you do it in dollars, your rent probably won't increase as much. In any case, there you have one more argument for negotiation. On the other hand, october 24.7pm, there is a design event in an area called Distrito Arenales, you could go. it's cute. Cheers.
