      Excelent Chanel!!!
Argentina It is a large producer of peanuts. We Argentines love him. I make my own peanut paste with 100gs of peaunut, four tablespoons of neutral oil and two of sugar. I put everything in the blender or processor and grind until the paste is formed.

I was born in Argentina and grew up in NY. When I left to live abroad again I was also homesick. Food, friends, family, Central park, etc. and it’s ok to feel this way. But you’re living new experiences with new culture and people which will always stay with you and add to what’s already in your backpack.

If you're from the rural southern parts of the USA You will engage in small talk. My wife, who is from the Bronx, NYC, was amazed that I just strike up conversations with total strangers. 😊

Saludos!

We lived near that intersection (Santa Fe and Pueyrredón) visible at 0:24.
That was 40 years ago, and it hasn't changed much - except where you see that BUS graffiti on the big retaining wall, there was a beautiful Italianate corner building they demolished around a decade ago to build a new subway entrance.
    Oh, well. Qué será.

Nice video! I just finished my first month in Buenos Aires. I'm finding it a lot easier to adapt than I thought. I haven't felt homesick at all, but since I've been an expat since 1998, I'm not really sure where my home is. The only problem I'm having is getting the paperwork together to establish residency in Argentina. I'm also checking out some neighboring countries to see if they're a better match for me. I'm going to Santiago at the end of November and may stay there for a bit if I like it.

I know you like cafés very much, so if you haven't been there yet, El Gato Negro (Corrientes in front of Paseo La Plaza) is awesome (more for a tea person, but they have a lot of coffe blends too). Also Las Violetas in Rivadavia y Medrano (this one is a classic). They have their own bakery, so the facturas you eat there are awesome. :D
Also, ignore haters and trolls. They exist everywhere, just don't waste time reading their comments (don't give them power). :)

Hi Chanel! I hope you get to feel Buenos Aires as your home.
I'm not sure what the rude comments are, but sometimes it's just cultural differences.
Living abroad certainly makes you appreciate things and you start missing your country.
I haven't lived in Argentina since 2019 but there were some shops that sold international snacks (mainly american chips and cereal) I'm not sure if they still exist but I hope so.

Unfortunately we live in a community for the good but also for the bad. Is not healthy to pretend that negative comments do not affect you, even if you know they are ilogical or based on mere hate or invented situations. It is intelligent at least try to overcome that negativity quick and easy to enjoy the 99% part of your life, but it is also clever to understand that sometimes it might be not as quick and easy as you would want to, and that is totallly fine. Giving yourself sometime to be on focus again it is not bad at all.

I love you guys, I love seeing my city through your lens. Chanel and Michael, I love you guys. There's and American making Cajun food in Palermo, maybe check that out. Most negative commentgs come from people from the provinces. To be fair, Buenos Aires is drastically different from the provinces. Each province has it's architechture, even they have a different look, a diffrenet accent. When I say drastically different I mean it, go to Salta, Jujuy, San Martin de los Andes, there's towns that look Swiss, and German, and some retain and care for their original colonial architeture, extremelly different from Buenos Aires. Mendoza, Ushuaia, it's shocking how you cross one province to another and everything looks so differenet,.

Hi Chanel, I'm planning a move down there, at least for 3 months, but hopefully longer. If your digital nomading earns you US money, what's the best way you found to transfer money?
A lot of people say Western Union. I've considered getting a checking account over there, but have also heard there's a limit of how much money you can transfer into Banks. What have you found??

    • @chanelmeyerr
