I am a 70 year old lady with medical conditions who depends on Yahweh to protect me while I fast from food and water and nothing has happened to me yet. HalleluYah, Praise Yahweh!
Love this Amy well rounded so grounded
This was the best video on Yom Kippur I have seen. I think you hit the nail on the head when you explained how awful judgement day will be for some, and how those looking on at the horror would have no appetite. Makes so much sense! Also, I've been confused on just how much repenting I could do personally as I am continually doing so. To spend the day praying for those without Yeshua---of course, makes perfect sense.
Oh how I wish I knew about these Holy Days years ago !! I am happy to learn now in my senior years !! No more pagan holidays for me ! Lots to learn. Thanks for sharing your knowledge .......
Thank you, sister! I also feel that this is a solemn day and that we should set aside ALL that is worldly and that we should fast and pray. I believe that fasting is meant for times of trial or when earnestly praying for others. I don’t believe it’s for personal or vain intentions. I pray that many more come to know Our Heavenly Father and Our Blessed Savior Yahshua and how beautiful the plan of salvation is. Shalom and blessings!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I just pour myself in Bible study and as a family we head outdoors and take in the beauty around us. Our children even fast for the day! Try thinking about how much closer fasting brings you to Yah rather than what your giving up. ❤
This was great Amy! Thank you. I have been modifying my food intake the whole month of Elul (except for Shabbat) in preparation for a full fast on Yom Kippur.
❤thank you Amy.
Wise teaching- thank you for the reminders!
I will be observing Yom Kippur for the very first time. I’m extremely new to Torah, and have no clue what I’m supposed to be doing, or if I’m doing things right. This video helped tremendously, though, thank you.
Same here Tammy!
Great encouragement.
Great advice! I started intermittent fasting a while ago and have felt healthier because of it. On Yom Kippur I do keep a smoothie in the fridge for the kids if they need it at some point throughout the day. Most of the time they don't even touch it. We have learned to start preparing the week before by eating lighter meals and praying.
Thank you for sharing your heart about this.
Regarding fasting, do what You are lead to do in your heart. That's betwern you and Yahuah. He knows our hearts. There's really no need to argue or judge what someone else is doing. Thank you Amy for sharing and your humble spirit. ❤
Thank you for this video. I am so new to keeping Torah. Last August I started trying to learn. However I am doing all of this mostly alone. Your view is inline with what I am trying to do. Bringing to my attention that we should reflect on the Judgment that will take place for the unrepentant, makes so much sense. This will be my second Yom Kippur. Shalom ❤️🙏🏻
Wow! That color is AMAZING on you! ❤️
Also, I really appreciated this video. It gave me a new perspective on Yom Kippur. Thank you ❤️🙏🏻
Thank you Amy, super helpful and pitched very well.
Fasting has great medical benefits! But always ask your Dr. Thank you for sharing these Holy Days with us. Helps alot! Glory to Yeshuah! I notice the old flesh really gets worked up lol. I didn't think I could do it, I was wrong. It's a good idea to work up to it!
Good points Amy! Advice for those who don’t fast usually. If you drink lots of coffee on an average day (as I do ;) ), start reducing your coffee consumption in the week before, especially in the morning, to avoid headaches on the day of fast. Also get your breakfast later than usual (perhaps every day a little bit later). It helps me to avoid migraines and to focus on the subject of fast. And drink water.
Have a blessed preparation week!
Thank you
I was wondering if you guys would ever start a youtube channel. 🤗 Welcome the RUclips world. Nice to see others sharing our faith and walk too.
This year my son, who is 10, is going to try and fast. My daughter is eating only fruit and my other son is eating only red foods. I am bringing some extra snacks for them just in case. We try to make it fun for them.
I just recently came across your channel through Philia Ministries. God bless you! Thank you for this video! Glory to Yah the Most High! I have been pondering these things about this particular Appointed time and confirmed what I was seeing in the Scriptures. Can I ask, do you start on the evening the day in your area, or do you go off of the time in Israel?
Thank you again, Shalom!
I start at sunset where I live. So glad you're here! Have a wonderful Feast season, Sister.
Great point, if a big dinner is planned after it may take the attention away from they whole idea of it.
Hi there my sister is Yeshua! I love your channel and this informative video. I do have a question regarding Yom Kippurim. In our Scriptures it states on that Holy Day to make an offering by fire to the Lord. What about that and how do we do this? I look forward to hearing from you. May Yahweh and Yeshua continue to bless you and your family.
We cannot do sacrifices right now.
@@TorahSisters So it is an animal sacrifice?
Why do you suppose that in the scriptures that fasting is mentioned, yet at Yom Kippur, afflicted is the chosen word?
The cornicopia kind of reminded me of the shofar. 🤔
I’m not in this religion but I’m going with a friend to observe this day at the Jewish church. I’m a woman. Can I wear leather shoes if that’s what I have and jewelry?
I've never been to a synagogue and don't know much about their rules, to be honest. Ask your friend?
Chabbad.org said no leather shoes☺
