We just celebrated the feast of trumpets • The Return Of The King... and now it is time to celebrate or recognize the day of atonement. The most holy day.
This is more of a solemn day as the high priest - as described in Lev 16, 23 and numbers 29, would go into the holy of holies and present the offering for the people’s sins for one year.
He would be in full garment array, The gold bells on his robe alternating with the pomegranate balls. Pomegranates are a symbol of righteousness. Gold was a symbol of purity.
The high priest would sprinkle blood on the mercy seat as atonement for the sins of the people.
It was to be a day of great sorrow, godly repentance, and confession of sins. It was a time of mourning - self introspection before God..
It is the only day required of fasting set aside in the Bible.
The Jewish people believed the final judgement would come on the Day of Atonement. This is believed by believers to be the time of the tribulation.
Because of this belief many Jewish people perform good deeds during the 10 days of awe - the days between atonement and the feasts of tabernacles.
Yet - we as believers do not need to mourn as one without hope or one still looking for a savior.
We have the savior - our Great high priest. He has already redeemed us for our sins.
We have been forgiven - without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Yet, Jesus was that blood, he was that sacrifice once and for all.
So you may be asking then - Annette - why should we celebrate this day as the Jews who do not see Jesus as their messiah?
Because this is another moment where God directed the people: foreigners and aliens along with the Jewish people to experience a Sabbath of rest.
Here are the teachings that come from the Day of Atonement - which in Hebrew is yom kippur
When we share these with our children and grandchildren it helps them see again who Jesus is, why he lived and why he died. Plus there is great prophecy in these feasts of our Lord!
Our children need to understand this world we live in is not our final home - Our Lord is coming back - these feasts help us recognize the truth. They are a scarlet thread from the old covenant to the new covenant of who Jesus is and his plan for our life.
    Lessons to teach our families
Two goats for sacrifice: one for the service of God - YHWH and the second for the scapegoat. Read this story in Leviticus 16. The goat would be chosen as lots. This is a perfect story to reenact with your family
The high priest had to sprinkle blood on the ark of the covenant for the sins of the people for one year. Remind our families - Hebrews 9:12 read Hebrews 9:11-14 where Jesus does this for us today:
He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Review the verses about the vail in the temple being torn at the moment of the crucifixion. Matthew 27:51 This shows us we no longer need a priest to atone our sins for us. We have direct access to God on our own.
Jesus came to give us full forgiveness of sins - John 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
Future day of atonement - this is where it gets electrifying in Zechariah 12:9-11 here is where our Lord will pour out a spirit of grace and supplication. This is the day when God’s chosen will see him as who he is.

This is my first observation of Yom Kippur. I will be observing by myself as my family hasn't come into realization that we as Christians should celebrate and observe the Holy days.
Any advice on how to introduce this concept to my family and friends would be greatly appreciated.

Hello friend, I’m not in a position to offer advice, but encouragement. This is also my first celebration of Yom Kippur as well .,after we realized our Christain holidays are pagan 3-4 years ago ..I’m very excited to start participating in the traditions that we we’re supposed to be celebrating

Welcome guys. Be gentle with yourselves as you learn. Very excited for you guys. Much love.
Edit: not sure if you've seen this, but the goat that was led into the wilderness had a scarlet cord tied around it's neck. As it left the camp, the cord would miraculously change to white as a sign the sins were forgiven. After Christ died etc, the next Atonement and since then, the cord has not changed (sins not forgiven) because Christ our High Priest is the one who now forgives. Just a little snippet that is a bit deeper for you.

We got back to the Hebrew (=means to cross or to pass over) roots of the Christian faith and learned to meaning behind the shadow pictures embedded in the Feasts of YHVH (which lay out the entire plan of salvation (=Yeshua) when we tried to share our new found truth with our church, they outright rejected it-so we left Babylon. Watching and listening, I was moved to share a testimony of my spiritual experience when I received a New Birth in my spirit that has something to do with the Feast of "Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement" in the Old Covenant in relation to the New Covenant.
On the day when I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus, wherein I acknowledged myself a sinner and humbled myself before Him in prayer with all my heart: confessed, repented and asked forgiveness of all my sins before Him, and that what He endured on the cross is for me and mankind that we may be forgiven, and that His Blood is the only one that can cleanse us from our sins, I felt something unusual happened in me.
I sensed within me that something like a water was 'poured' on my head. The 'cool water' flowed down slowly like an 'oil' from my head to my shoulders and my whole body. As the water runs down my body, hands, legs and feet, I felt something coarse like 'sand or mud' that goes down with it until it 'disappeared' at the tip of my fingers and toes. Afterward, I felt so 'light and refreshed' as if I had no weight, and then I was filled with the 'Love and Peace of God', which made me feel that 'I love all God's creation'.
Then later on something like a 'seed', broke open in my heart, wherein out of it an 'unspeakable joy' filled my whole being within that lasted for many days. Immediately I was filled with the Holy Ghost that was followed by many godly and biblical spiritual experiences and manifestation of gifts like to dream dreams and seeing visions. ( Acts 2:17; 2:38-39; 3:19-20 ; Ephesians 3:16-20; 5:18; John 3:3-8; 1 Peter 1:8; Matthew 13:23 )
The Light of the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge and Revelation ( Ephesians 1:17 | Isaiah 11:2 )
Then and only then, I realized how filthy is a man before God; he is covered with mud of sin and filthiness of life in this fallen world. He needs the Holy Blood of Christ Jesus that He had shed on the Cross to cleanse him from all sins, filthiness, inequities and unrighteousness. Blessed be THE LORD.
Truly, the Word of God is true concerning the filthiness of man because of sin, and the cleansing of it can be done only by the washing of the Holy Blood of the Son of God, which He had poured out on the Cross.
My experience clearly defines and confirms the message of the Gospel on the forgiveness of sins in the Name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus by the Atoning Sacrifice He had done on the Cross for our Salvation and in receiving the promised Life Eternal in Heaven.
Furthermore, the sin that had entered into this world and man's life is the weight that made man carries a heavy load. But, the Lord Jesus had carried it all the way until His death on the Cross of Calvary. Therefore, those who acknowledged what He had done and received it in their lives as a propitiation of their sin and fallen nature shall He remove this weight from them. He shall replace it with a burden and yoke of following Him and living His Will that is light and easy.
This testimony of God in me made me fully understand how to be forgiven of The LORD our Merciful and Gracious God as what His Word, the Holy Bible teaches, which I considered a 'great and marvelous' work of The LORD our God. Something that is beyond human mind, eyes, ears and flesh to perceive.
Thank You so much Father, for washing away my sins and cleansing me with the Holy and Precious Blood of Your Only Begotten Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that He had shed on the Cross of Calvary. Thank You for the "Justification unto Sanctification" that Your Son had done on the Cross for me and mankind. Thank You so much Father.
    Scriptural Lights:
    Psalm 51:2, 7, 10 | Ezekiel 36:25-27 | John 13:7-10 | Hebrews 10:22 | Psalms 19:12 | Jeremiah 33:8 | Acts 3:19 | Matthew 11:28-30 | Romans 8:29-30 | Ephesians 5:26 | Titus 3:5 | Ephesians 1:7 | Romans 5:8-11 | Romans 3:23 | Romans 10:9-10 | 1 John 1:7-9 | Revelation 7:14 | Leviticus 17:11 | Hebrews 9:22
I believe that Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement in the Old Covenant in relation to the New Covenant is always observe daily and not just yearly in the LIFE of the SAVED BELIEVER, for ONCE and for ALL HIS LIFE he RECEIVED it, to LIVE and CARRY IT OUT throughout his life, as he WALKED with God in SPIRIT and in TRUTH offering his or her LIFE a LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY and ACCEPTABLE to God, being SEPERATED from the WORLD and DENYING himself ( things that AFFLICT the LIVES of the true sons and daughters of God ).
With regards to the Seven Feasts or Days of Appointments in the Old Covenant ( Leviticus 23 ), in relation to the New Covenant, I believe that they are in the LIFE of the child of God as "ALL IN ONE PACKAGE" of the GIFT OF LIFE being the FIRSTFRUIT of SALVATION in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from his JUSTIFICATION to SANCTIFICATION, NEW BIRTH and INFILLING of the HOLY SPIRIT. All these FEASTS and all the other LAWS in the Old Covenant are MAGNIFIED within in the LIFE of a true child of God by the MINISTRATION of the HOLY SPIRIT, as what the Lord Jesus said, 'He came to MAGNIFIED the LAW'. These LAWS are written in the TABLES of our HEARTS by the FINGER of GOD, the HOLY SPIRIT, as we READ, HEAR and STUDY His WORD by the LIGHT of GUIDANCE of the SPIRIT of TRUTH.
To God be the Glory and Honor alone! God bless and graces to all.
I like your videos, and I learned a lot of healthy tips. I also believe that it is God's Will for man to be in good health. Of truth, it is The LORD our God who stopped me from smoking and drinking alcoholic drinks by removing from within me the desire of it when I received the precious Salvation in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you and God bless.

I am still nursing my 20mo daughter. But I feel strongly that I am called to fast. I have been fast every couple of weeks from sun down to sun down, water, herbal tea & sometimes watered-down juice. I also have one bowl of cabbage soup when I get really weak, as I have a 3yo & a 20mo to chase & care for. I really want to do a longer fast & I just heard you say don't fast in nursing. Can you give me some exception ideas? My daughter doesn't seem to want to wean anytime soon & I feel strongly about fasting.

Exactly! The true Gentiles are those who are non-Israelites (not part of the 12 Tribes), Christianity took on the title Gentiles. And you are correct, it should NOT be labeled a Jewish Shabbat or Jewish Feasts. The Almighty wants us to be hot or cold, not lukewarm. The LAWS aren't multiple choice.

Just a gentle correction: The goat for the Lord represents Jesus. He is killed for our sins but has been resurrected from being dead. He is the firstborn from among the dead and our hope. If we are not resurrected we would remain dead forever. We'd bever live again to see our loved ones or God and Christ or the Kingdom. The scapegoat DOES NOT represent Jesus and was not thrown of a cliff in the bible. It was led into the wilderness. It represents the one who rightfully deserves the sins placed on him - Satan. But the bigger truth and lesson is that unlike humans who would cease to ever exist again if not for a resurrection, Satan and his demons do not die. They are cast into outer darkness (the wilderness) never to present a threat to us again. This is the simple version for the kids. Please don't confuse the identity or symbolism of the two goats because it diminishes Christ's sacrifice and obscures Satan's fate who is a real threat to our eternal salvation being the father of lies and false teaching.

@@MyChihuahua There are many reasons why sunset is used as the starting point not only for the Sabbath but also for God's feast days as well. The holy day known as atonement, occurring in the fall, states that the days FASTING needed to occur from the evening of the 9th and continue until the 10th day at even ( Leviticus 23:27-32 ) another reason is, in biblical times, the setting of the sun denoted the end of the work day. Day of atonement (Yom Kippur) is a SABBATH and FAST not a FEAST !!!
    📖
    Leviticus 16:29-31
29 “This shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you; 30 for it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before YHVH. 31 “It is to be a sabbath of solemn rest for you, that you may humble your souls; it is a permanent statute.

'Days of awe' are the 10 days from Trumpets (1st of 7th month) to Atonement (Yom Kippur 10th of 7th month). Then there are 5 days to Tabernacles on the 15th of 7th month.
    Oct 21 was Trumpets
    Oct 30 is Yom Kippur
    Nov 4 is Tabernacles
