  • Canzone was recorded April 23, 2022, as part of Douglas Yeo's faculty recital in the Armerding Center for the Arts Concert Hall, Wheaton College, Illinois.
Canzone is an original treatment by Eddy Koopman of Girolamo Frescobaldi's Canzona primo basso solo, F. 8.06b, composed in 1628 for unspecified bass instrument with continuo. For this performance of the oldest piece on his recital, Douglas Yeo used his newest instrument, a Yamaha YBL-822G bass trombone with a carbon fiber conversion by Butler Trombones of Dallas, Texas.
