I had very good interaction with Marquette so I pulled the trigger on a red sticker version of this pan ($87!) Cheaper than the mineral b pro and Sonora I was eyeing) also got a 4 qt dutch oven from them. This pan is great gotta love that thick steel and the factory seasoning is so smooth. Handle is great. I'd recommend definitely and if you are fine with a factory second you can save 50%. The Dutch oven is also very good too, nice flat bottom, straight walls, good lid.
I luv luv LOVE how you disect issues whether its fact or fiction. Like the 2 inconsistency. To me,, that's VERY important. Now far as buying,,, DOUBT IT. I'd have to do some illegal things to afford that price😂😂😂 & NOW.... Too old to go to jail. Kmslaffffin. Very nice skillet. I love the casted 1 too. Never heard of it. Tkx Luis, keep being a MYTH BUSTER. You don't know how many your info helps before going out on a limb. 2 thumbs UP & a swirled circle snap. So kool!!!
Cowboy Kent Rollins actually just released a video on the cast iron skillet and it really is such an amazing pan. If you can justify the price, it will be worth the money.
Little bit expensive. If I’m spending that much, I might as well get a 12.5 de buyer mineral b pro and it’s cheaper. Have no complaints with their cast iron, I was actually one of the kick starters back in the days.
Looks like a great pan. Factory seasoning not amazing but better than nothing! E.g my De Buyer had none at all, so a bit of work to even get to the level Marquete supply out of the box. And awesome handle!
I think there has been a lot of issues with carbon steel warping, and the type of cooktops used, it’s been an area of contention with many, for quite a while. I think with the THICKER gage, this will be a better choice, and I love the handle design. Looks very comfortable, as well as staying cooler longer with the forked design and the solid thickness of the handle. Obviously if used in the oven, or even stovetop on a higher setting/longer time, you’d have to use caution🤣.. For the price, ide expect a hand polished handle. I love Marquette, I have the 6qt enameled DO, not made in USA like the iron n steel they produce, but still made to VERY HIGH standards, backed by lifetime warranty. I would love to have this steel skillet, and, the CI skillet, but they’d have to come WAY down in price. For a new pan, I like the way the egg came out, I’m also not a fan of flaxseed oil, but with constant cooking with grape seed/avocado, coconut oil, I think it would get better n better.
I love that handle Rick D. I bet its MUCH cooler coming out da oven. & far as seasoning goes,,, only vegetable for this chick. Alwzzz available. This dude is a perfectionist. I bet if I washed his skillet he'd cut my throat🤣🤣🤣 Luis voice; NO CYNTHIA, WE DO NOT TOUCH LUIS's KITCHEN WARE,,, EVVVVVVVA!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'd be running & hiding.

The shape of this pan looks very practical. I like the 3mm thickness (this is the same thickness as most Solidteknics US Ion or Aus Ion pans. I am curious, do you use a piece of chain mail to clean our cast iron and carbon steel pans? Any recommendations on these?
Yes I do use Chain mail to clean both carbon steel and cast iron. I recommend a smaller mesh chain mail. I bought one from Butter Pat Industries which also works with a sponge. That’s my favorite

I’ve been waiting for the 10.5 cast iron skillet to come back in stock. Seems to be taking forever. :(.

Yea that is my issue also. Patience lol I watched the Kent Rollins video yesterday also. You and Kent are the 2 I watched most about cast iron.

No problem it’s Cast 304 Stainless Steel
@@luisj.castironcooking Thanks bruv, See you Thursday
That matte finish is really nice on the cast iron. It looks like you have never used it!
I don’t like flax seed as well
Flake seed.😒
It’s great as a starting base coat but definitely not for true seasoning.
Flaxseed oil is a absolute nightmare cast iron sesoning.
Flaxseed oil is pure poison for cast iron! Cast iron and flaxseed oil should not be in the same sentence!
