I haven't been doing so good health wise but now home from hospital an miss the very pretty nurses, got curious as to what was going on with you. I do think that your videos are some of the very best youtube content! I have followed this project of yours since start an have had some of the best belly laughs in my seventy two years of life. I see that doing a wrap had you not committed to doing would of just been one of your memories we would of never seen. You are a very good person Chuck an hope that you stay with youtube for many more seasons
Looking great! I was super stoked to see your video show up in my notifications. That sound deadening paint is pretty cool. I use alot of sound deadener material at my shop where we do custom interiors and fabrication and I have seen that on a couple restorations that have come through and didn't really realize it was a sound deadener. Very helpful to see the 2 part process of spraying it. Great work.
Looks awesome! I love the color choice for the hood and the cab looks soooo good in that sun light. Good choice on sound deadening paint better than sitting in a 55gal drum while driving. Keep up the good work on Bessie.
Love your show, Great stuff and I really appreciate how you show all of the details for those of us that are coming behind you and attempting this ourselves.
im redoing a 76 gmc c35 cummins swapped. i was wondering did you spray the whole inside, roof, pillars and all that with the lizard skin, and did you paint over it with something like automotive paint ever? and how has it held up since you made the video? Love the build looks great! thanks.
That’s a great question because I wondered the same thing! From my experience raptor liner is great for impact resistance, but it dries really hard. The lizard skin sound deadener has more of a rubbery finish when it dries so I think that’s what absorbs a lot of the noise. The ceramic insulation does really well too with keeping heat out!
That’s great info to know! I wouldn’t be surprised if the thinner in the spray paint reacted with the sanded clear coat. Never even crossed my mind until now!
Hi Chuck Betsy can my beautiful you doing in remarkable work on Betsy she looks wonderful once you get Betsy all done with interior upholstery the bed since you going to change the front suspension and the rear suspension Betsy going to be better than brand new congratulations
@@ChucksCustoms yes sir. Im not trying to put you down but i do many rhinga here in my shop and have failed because i dont have experiace as to how it works. But bessie i pike.
@@mophead4812 no offense taken! I learned the hard way that wrapping is a lot of hard work and it takes a lot of skill to be good at. I’d definitely like to try more in the future so I can play around with different types of wraps and techniques, but I gained a lot of respect for guys who do it on a daily basis lol
@@ChucksCustoms you know chuck, im guessing ypur name is chuck you honestly inapired me to do basicly the same thing but with my f350, but after doing many calculations i will be better off just upgrading my setup and spend 3700.00 so i gave up on the cummins swap. But again you stuck that splinter in me and got me going sir!!
You guessed right my friend haha I’m glad I could inspire you! I never would have thought my videos would make such an impact, but I feel honored to know that they have. What upgrades did you end up going with??
That wrapping looks good on this Bessie I can't wait to see a flatbed build in the future
Thank you! The flatbed episode should be coming very soon!

Thanks! Yeah the lizardskin is really cool stuff. Even if they weren’t a sponsor I’d still highly recommend it, especially the ceramic insulation!
Keep up the good work Chuck!!!
Thank you!! Will do 😎
Yesssss finally another video on Bessie

Thank you! And yes the sound deadening paint works like a dream!

Thanks! I always love to help so if I can share my mistakes hopefully others won’t have to deal with them!
Another awesome video Chuck. Always a pleasure to watch.
I appreciate it!
Nice!! Thanks for the update!

Glad to hear about lizard skin i was considering them. Keep up the awesome work on Bessie!
I highly recommend it! It’s a little pricey but definitely worth it, especially having the ceramic insulation in the Florida heat lol
awesome job bro killing it as normal! keep it up.
I appreciate it man!
Next time fire up that sprayer with compressor. It’s cheaper than the rattle cans.
Best videos on RUclips
That means a lot! Thank you!
Man that looks good.
Thanks man 😎
What do you think the difference is between the lizard skin and something like raptor liner, just a DIY spray in bed liner?
That’s a great question because I wondered the same thing! From my experience raptor liner is great for impact resistance, but it dries really hard. The lizard skin sound deadener has more of a rubbery finish when it dries so I think that’s what absorbs a lot of the noise. The ceramic insulation does really well too with keeping heat out!
@@ChucksCustoms Right on, I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
Usually the spray turns gritty because of the sun boiling it or a chemical reaction between the old and new paint!
That’s great info to know! I wouldn’t be surprised if the thinner in the spray paint reacted with the sanded clear coat. Never even crossed my mind until now!
@@ChucksCustoms yeah it happens ive been painting stuff for years real paint and spray cans and the only way to know is to test it
@@ChucksCustoms the wrap came out great btw! I’m going to go this route on my c10 as well
Thanks! It was a pain in the butt to learn, but I’m glad I did it. Definitely something I can see myself doing again down the road
When are you doing the 4x4 swap
Good work!!
Thank you!
lets go bessie!!
Was it just my eyes or did the passenger side door look just a tad lighter than the fender? Still looks good though glad to see some progress on her.
There were a few fitment issues here and there but adding some shims helped a lot!
Working on a 78 myself and have a lo mien fender on it. Very familiar with fitment issues lol
Yeah I believe these fenders are from a 75, the doors are from an 84 blazer, and the hood is from an 80 so there’s quite a bit of mix matching 😅

Dude im no expert but i can see you went too far forward look at the wri kles on the hood.
It was definitely a bad attempt. I feel like having 2 people would’ve made it a lot easier lol
