Heierlark is an important location in the Ace Combat universe. It was here that the action in Ace Combat 5 and Zero took place.
There is a similar design on Tyler Island in AC7.
In retrospect, it seems that the F-14A is not very well suited to the role of the AC5's flagship fighter, due to the fact that the Tomcat's days in the US Navy were already numbered. Two years after the game's release, the Tomcat was retired from service with the US Navy. The Super Hornet, Rafale M, F-35C and even the F-22N Sea Raptor were better in this role.
The GASA briefing system interface is straight out of the 90s or the turn of the 21st century.

I guess the F-14A is there to show the budget restrictions that Osea had following Harling's cuts, but it is certainly a peculiar choice for the biggest superpower in Strangereal in 2010!

@@MrLemmy82 Especially since OMDF had more modern F-14B and F-14D, which debuted in AC5.

    *Bad Endings of this mission*
"Yuktobanian soldiers have reached our facility! Cancel operations! We cannot launch!" *- Space Center Staff if ABN Tanks are too close to the Mass Driver*
"Target destroyed." *- Yuke Fighter after the ramp is destroyed*

Huh, I've never heard either of these lines, but then again, I don't think I've ever failed this mission except by getting shot down.

Both scenarios would mean Yuktobania wins the war. If the Oseans couldn't launch the SSTO, the Arkbird would have no way of shooting down the Scinfaxi's missiles in the next mission, or more importantly forcing the Scinfaxi to surface. This would mean Wardog wouldn't be able to sink the Scinfaxi and would eventually be shot down by its missiles. The Yukes would take over Sand Island and use it to invade mainland Osea, eventually forcing the Oseans to surrender.

@@galacticknight55544 Good point, although that assumes the Grey Men didn't have a trick up their sleeve to stall the Yukes and keep the war going

@@TomTheSaintsGuy They might have, although I think they did ultimately wanted Osea to lose the war. Osea owns the land that the Belkans want to take back, and it inflicted far more death and destruction during the Belkan War than Yuktobania did.

It's annoying that you can't change SP weapons or planes in this mission.

Classic AC5! Makes you wait for mission 5 to be able to get new planes and let you choose, and then doesn't let you choose for mission 6!
