I have to say when you showed respect for the landowners and said you would clean them off and them blessed is the most awesome sight to see, it gives me hope that humanity does have a fighting chance and that my 22 years serving the country wasn't in vain, thank you for being human, and I hope to meet you some time as I am moving to Alaska and have toys like dual sports and other fun ATV's of all sizes and a couple of tanks and military equipment, basically real Tonka toys.
Awesome gravesite find. I googled their names and read their obituaries. Found out that was their 1st home after getting married and both was awesome people. Bob was a marine in Korea and Laura was a hell of a cook. Couldn't help but leave a comment on their Legacy page. Cool video.
Very cool , going back into the obituaries and history of that cabin and the families was just as good for me even if you didn't find anything Special, They were originally from Michigan, my home state. thanks so much for the video .
Alaska , wow you are living a dream I've had my whole life. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to live in Alaska. As it happened it didn't turn out that way but I still love seeing videos from there. Judging from your fines and the furniture left it appears to have been abandoned in the late 60a or early 70s and from the method of building my guess would be it was built in the 40s or so. Very cool, never stop exploring. Also, you can get maps and coordinates to old mining claims that individuals filed and then search those places.
That's awesome..love the woods, I grew up around the forest, never was afraid till I found out there were bears..thanks for the viewing, I live in the city..not the same, I sure miss home when I see these kinds of videos..I'm from northern Manitoba, now live in Winnipeg..😞🙂
I loved your exploration around this area. I myself would have taken a lot of the cans. I like to collect cans from the 60s and older and display them in my little shop. Thanks for the video!
There is something about wooden houses, cabins Barns etc. I love them and want to live in one. So warm and cosy and sweet smelling. I can almost smell that old cabin! Kind of musty and dusty but rich with the wood and surrounding trees and grass , warmed by the sun. That place looks amazing.
I really enjoyed your video sir. A walk in the woodlands is a real treat for anyone especially those who have mobility problems. Blessings and peace from UK sir
I'd try detecting in the old river bed. Watch out for grizzlies. Thanks for posting. Wish I could vacation there. You're lucky. This guy is so nice. Not many people like this around anymore. He cares about his youtubers comments, shows he's a great person.
I really enjoyed your video. You're such a nice man, I'm proud of how you treated the grave site and the cabin. I was sad to see a few rude posts, so I wanted to take the time to let you know this was a very enjoyable watch. You Sir, have the true heart of a great explorer.
Laura and Robert, Rest In Peace in the place they loved.... Laura sounded like a really nice person, bob as well. Just living a normal happy life the way they wanted it. Sounds like happiness.
I was curious about your gas, didnt see any gas stations around there, lol I would expect there would be a lot of trash scattered around. Beautiful there, thanks for sharing. GL & Have fun. Rick
This video was awesome Keith. I used to live in Fairbanks as a kid in the 60's. There used to be so much cool old stuff and old cabins everywhere. I lived for a few years on Fort Wainwright. There has got to be many old silver coins out there around the old theatre and PX and officer and family living quarters. I went to McKinley elementary school on base in the early 60's and it was old then. After Fort Wainwright my dad bought a lot in Hamilton Acres and I was lucky enough to live just a couple blocks from Nordale Elementary school. I know the old Nordale was torn down. Must be lots of coins underneath all that concrete and asphault.
It's so nice seeing people explore old stuff, I think of the Fallout game images - my boyfriend plays the game sometime and has the same nice, old stuff finding vibe.
Wow, that brought back memories I used to live in the Alaska. From 1970 until 1973 and that was when the Pipeline was going through. Delta Junction Which is 100 miles from Fairbanks. And I didn't live in that town. I lived on the base. Fort Greely and I loved it up there. I wish I had a metal Detective. I remember going gold panning with some neighbors of mine I found a little bit of gold. I remember they gave me three tiny little flakes. And I had them. For many years I don't know what happened to them. Anyway My dad was stationed. At Fort Lee, Virginia there me and my buddy. Would go running around in the woods. And I remember seeing a bunch of these little holes in all these trees. Until one day I took a knife. And I want to know. What was in those holes? I dug out. A piece of metal and then I would find those little balls of metal all over. The place found out they were muskets from the Civil War I don't know what happened to those. It would probably be worth something now. But anyway, they're gone. I don't know where it happened to them. I wish I had a metal detector then I probably have a whole bunch of them. Anyway, thank you for your videos. It's great. I love them.
I like the fact that you dont make metal detecting seem what it really isn’t. Most detecting videos they will show just treasure and it gives people the wrong idea. Great video! Happy hunting!
Clayton Smith thanks Clayton I really appreciate the compliment , I don’t like watching some of the fake stuff out there either, just getting out doors is fun for me Hope you’ll subscribe to my channel, thanks again
Pretty interesting... even had to google the Mursch's and discovered that they were originally LOOPERS from an area of northern Michigan quite well known to myself... God Rest em under the far northern lights! Thanks for posting this, keithie6!
I also detected at an old home site in West Virginia that was said to have a stash of coins buried in to property. All I found was a bunch of nails and the remains of the ten roof that was all over the property. It’s hard to look at old homesteads so much trash. But I believe the trasher is still there just can’t find it.
Hello, I just came across your channel, MAN you already found "Treasure" you found it!! It was under your feet the whole time!!! WOW, what a beautiful country!! I've subscribed!! Good luck and happy hunting :)
Thanks for the great look at the great area you live in! My boy is headed to your state next Thursday near Juno. We are from Ohio!! I wish I was going LOL!!! Being a welder by trade. Like the Pipeline cut out you showed! I Watched a documentary on the pipeline!! What a feat that was. Much respect to those guys that worked on it. Great video man!!!
My dad died on that very pipeline, was burried alive, the view you said look at in the beginning,as soon as you got off the road, looked like a picture my dad took that one of his friends has still, can you tell me what part of Alaska that is,as I'm trying to find my half sister up there,as my dad had a new life up there and had a daughter,I know this is the spot, and then when you got on the pipeline trail, and said now we're on the pipeline,my heart sunk,ty for the video and new hope of finding out about my sister
Wow great video absolutely beautiful there! cant imagine how beautiful the sky is at night. Good luck to you. PS you can get a bear on camera but you only see a bigfoot after the batteries die. that how it goes. Thanks for posting really enjoyed it!
Keithie6, Hi i live in England, UK and was watching your video, when you came upon the grave of Robert and Laura Mursch. Well i Googled it and found their Obituary, how weird is that! All i did was tapped in their first names along with the family name into Google and up they popped.
What a great video, and such a cool place to go hunting, not sure I like the idea of bears though ! So much land out there I guess that makes it hard to find the good stuff, there must be some there for sure. Subbed and look forward to watching more of your videos. All the best.
That's my kinda day. I rode my KLR650 to Glacier National Park, Sturgis, SD, Laramie WY, and Yellowstone where I camped a night (always had a tent and factory 3-set soft bags--totally waterproof). I'd meet people, they'd say you rode THAT here? From where? Chicago!? OMG. But really, it wasn't that uncomfortable. Good luck detecting! And riding. A day riding is always a success.
That flat top beer can at 11:50 is what I live for! Its 1935 to about the mid 60s. If it says "Keglined" on it its before 1953 or so. A little oxalic acid bath will pull the rust off! It could be a previously unknown! Go get it!

At 9:30 into the video, when you were looking at the vehicle scrap parts, the way the trees were all bent in over it to form a rough dome shape reminded me of a Sasquatch marker
Gotta hit them holes with more speed' those wheels ain't big because they look pretty, great video, videos lime that make the imagination run, Would be bad stuff breaking your ankle out there man! Take care and happy hunting from England
The best thing about (some parts) of the US, being able to have that sidearm for personal protection. Never take it for granted. I’d prefer 10MM or .44 Mag for Brown Bear threat, 45 ACP might be a bit lacking.
Listen bro he went walking through one area there where the earth kind of enveloped him and the first thing I could think was if a bear or cugar or something decided to walk around at the same time as me I probably wouldn't have enough time to pull my gun out haha. I thought maybe it would be safer to walk through with hte gun out already because you know you only live once man. I rode a 4wheeler around in some rough desert for a while and I never brought a gun once. Never saw anything I deemed a threat beyond maybe the occasional snake. I saw many small animal tracks so I knew where there was small animals their was bigger ones. Years later I went camping and brought a gun and I heard wolves. We know wolves exist because we saw one outside the backyard one time. What eats wolves? Something bigger. The deeper in you go the more you realise you'll need a bigger gun and you might have to actually get ready to use it. To think how far back in I went on that 4 wheeler had I broke down and not had a gun and got stuck overnight. If I was in an area more likely to have bears I'd carry something bigger and with more bullets than what I've always brought out there. I was thinking about getting into metal detecting and some of these metal detectors sound like baby wild animals 😳
I don’t think it was a gold rush cabin. I think it was a weekend getaway for that family, and they were there much more recently than the gold rush. I read the lady’s obituary, and she must have lived in Fairbanks since she worked there. Remote cabins are often subjected to break-ins and theft, so the owners tend to outfit them with used furniture and don’t leave anything of value there. The real treasure of places like that are the memories of good times with their kids and each other.
Ha be careful out there man!! That gravesite was way cool!! I hope to come up to Fairbanks to live there for a year and try it out... I mean how cool would that be , to experience a true Alaskan year..!
The grave doesn't look recent enough to have been disturbed in 2017 (to inter the second body). If I were to make a guess, I'd say the marker is a symbolic tribute to the couple who once lived in the cabin.
Laura and Robert could have been cremated and were buried in their urns, Looks like they had a full life. May they rest in peace, fun video, metal detecting is like having a romance with the past.
yeah obviously the wife was not living there a year ago when she died. They must have moved back to town to be taken care of and then cremated and buried where they wanted to be layed to rest.
I take a bag with me and carry as much garbage as I can out of the area. Also, I covered my holes and when I'm done, you would never know anyone was there. I have seen some places so messed up my treasure hunters, and it's a little sad, because they tear the place apart. You seem to be one of the considerate ones, that's good to see. When my husband was alive, he would take the scrap metals we found and sell them. We had 5 gallon buckets and would separate the metals. I don't know how to find buyers, my husband did it through his job.
I go back to the same cabin 2 years later ruclips.net/video/skfk5GEib_M/видео.html
Hayiutoliveth
That grave stone is cool. It’s made of metal. Someone is still alive who cared about them.
It's obviously fake.
What a wonderful video. Way to honor them! I have allot of respect for you sir

Oooo I love these kinda channels. Thanks for sharing with us 😁

Thats way cool so it wasnt gold rush cabin
I'm glad you honored them by doing this.
I want backstory it make the telling so much richer. Thanks for the research!
So you just proved it wasn't the gold rush cabin not that any Gold Rush cabin still exist cuz they lived in f****** tents
@@lsxtmt4910 exactly because they moved around.
Loved to watch it. I was always fascinated about watching films from different parts of the world 👌
Exactly
Cool adventure! Thanks for taking us along. Thumbs up
Very cool , going back into the obituaries and history of that cabin and the families was just as good for me even if you didn't find anything Special, They were originally from Michigan, my home state. thanks so much for the video .

I live near a Mursch, I live in Michigan as well. Next time I see him I will ask if there is any relation.
Brian Suomi kanyanya
The tour through that old cabin was cool in its self! Thanks for sharing! :)
Excellent video and well wishes for the previous owners and occupants (I presume) of the cabin. You honor them with your respect, thank you.

I know you didn’t find gold coins but I enjoyed the video and like your gentle and respectful attitude. Hunt safe.
I really enjoyed your video. You're such a nice man, I'm proud of how you treated the grave site and the cabin. I was sad to see a few rude posts, so I wanted to take the time to let you know this was a very enjoyable watch. You Sir, have the true heart of a great explorer.
thanks so much Mrs B
Thanks for sharing that trip looking forward to the next one
thank you for your work on this channel and most importanly, taking care of the grave site
this is a great vid man...never thought about using the bike to get out to hard to reach areas and look for treasures!!
Laura and Robert, Rest In Peace in the place they loved.... Laura sounded like a really nice person, bob as well. Just living a normal happy life the way they wanted it. Sounds like happiness.
Great video well respected!
There are tens of thousands of old cabin sites in Alaska. Each one has its own story.
I was curious about your gas, didnt see any gas stations around there, lol
I would expect there would be a lot of trash scattered around.
Beautiful there, thanks for sharing.
GL & Have fun.
Rick
our gas prices are usually a dollar or more than the lower 48 states
What a blessing to live in such a place, it's wonderful, greetings from México.
Detección de Tesoros
Hey from Alaska and thanks for watching stay safe
Awesome find, you should pile up the trash you find in one pile so it doesn't throw off the detector. Also nobbie tires! !
Still liking comments in 2020?!
2020
shadowpeople evil 2020 but no heart

2023 almost 2024 😊
Love your video. Thanks for posting!
Beautiful! Thanks! *CAN'T* imagine the ones who 'lived' there scattering trash, [not buried] 'everywhere', If it's not the Bears, it's those visiting.
Lovely hunt and I respect your attitude towards the grave and the site.

Bet that was a beautiful cabin back in the day x
The cabin was really cool .Alaska reminds me of Michigan's Upper Peninsula! Subbed!

Gotta like the northern clay. I lived in north central BC (not too far north) the clay there was crazy.
I enjoyed that immensely.
Time travel to the past, thanks for sharing, due to my health I cannot go places to explore.
What a great video, and such a cool place to go hunting, not sure I like the idea of bears though ! So much land out there I guess that makes it hard to find the good stuff, there must be some there for sure. Subbed and look forward to watching more of your videos. All the best.
I medal detected a goth kid, it went: *BEEP*
Both the goth kid and the medal detector.
Very cool... I like it!!! I hunt in Florida, TC, Keith (In Florida)
That's my kinda day. I rode my KLR650 to Glacier National Park, Sturgis, SD, Laramie WY, and Yellowstone where I camped a night (always had a tent and factory 3-set soft bags--totally waterproof). Cool video.. new to your channel but right up my alley! I think Bigfoot definitely has checked out that cabin with his female big feet companions..
Great video👍
That flat top beer can at 11:50 is what I live for! Its 1935 to about the mid 60s. If it says "Keglined" on it its before 1953 or so. A little oxalic acid bath will pull the rust off! It could be a previously unknown! Go get it!
I love Alaska! I need to go on hollidays there!
A really good attempt. The scenery was fantastic. It's a shame you didn't find anything.
The cabin its self is treasure , and if you can find more on the family that lived their, that's the real treasure, Knowledge... looks like fun, keep it up.
Yup! You do have a young voice! Twenties for sure! Also well spoken.
Wow how exciting terrific vid thanks so much
Will cool Keith what a place
looks like fun!
Man you have a young voice lol. Watching your vid I would have bet my life that you were 18-20 years old then when you turned the cam on yourself I was completely surprised that you are almost as old as me ( but not quite) lol
Man the area you are detecting is beautiful but it stated looking a little spooky around 14.00 of the vid.
Good luck dude and I enjoyed your vid. Thanks for sharing
Great video
Awesome find
At 9:30 into the video, when you were looking at the vehicle scrap parts, the way the trees were all bent in over it to form a rough dome shape reminded me of a Sasquatch marker
Awesome old homestead
Gotta hit them holes with more speed' those wheels ain't big because they look pretty, great video, videos lime that make the imagination run,
Would be bad stuff breaking your ankle out there man!
I was thinking about getting into metal detecting and some of these metal detectors sound like baby wild animals 😳
Sorry about the crash at the end; yep, motorcycles are no fun on slick mud! Interesting video nonetheless and cool old homesite!
You should check the tailings pile. They could have missed some gold. Never know.
It was definitely used in late 1900's
👋 Hello Keithie6 i live right here in Anchorage Alaska. Nice video and thanks 🙏
Very nice video keep up the good job.
I love the cabin. I wish someone would fix it up!
Beautiful Location..
Be careful of open wells. Nice cabin find. Wouldn't you like to know the history of that place in its heyday?
icimblind look up Mrs. Murschs obituary and you'll know everything that went on there.
I was stationed in ft wainwright loved it
your having so much fun you need a twin to enjoy it all
Very cool and great video
Awesome place to live sir...
I don't know how to find buyers, my husband did it through his job.
11 minutes into a 17 minute video about metal detecting, we finally get to see a metal detector - lol. Nice adventure though. Thanks for posting.
