I found my first indian head penny walking up the hill at the inlaw's house. The stage coach used to use the path we were on and their house was like an overnight place while they waited for the next coach. I found an 1887, then I found an 1889 under the porch in front of me where I live now. I have been collecting coins since the first Indian head I found.
As you said, a good representation! Good weather, good scenery, good finds! Sweet Indian head cent. Love the crotal bell, too. Thanks for taking us along!
When you dig up a coin from the past, you should also leave one from the present for someone in the future. That Indian head was left for you to find by someone from the past, I just think you should do the same and be just as cool. A 2024 penny is not going to mean much to you, but to some poor guy in 4357 it will be his most amazing find and probably be very meaningful to him, and I hope he has the decency to leave a penny from his time.
Wish I knew about you before I moved to RI. I would have traveled from Manchester to Keene to join you. I detect here but mostly farms. Have found alot of different things, but nothing to get excited about. Luv your videos.
A US cent coin back in the 1800s had a purchasing value comparable to a dollar today. I would expect a laborer in the 1870s earning a dime an hour could afford to eat better than a worker today earning $15 hour.
The only problem would be leaving a modern coin in an older site would confuse the context for someone finding it decades down the road. A nice thought though.
I am an old Ohio guy. When I hear the dried leaves crunching as he is exploring the woods, I feel jealous...and sad that my youth has fled away, never to return 😭... Thanks for the memories.. You guys have brought me back..By the way, what's with the basket on Waynos' head..He don't wanna be bugged,,..😜
Nice finds! I've been streaming Outlander on Netflix and it's fascinating to see the clothing tools buckles and brooches they depict rather authentically from the 1740s in Scotland. It really puts your finds in perspective.
The detail on your Indian Head Penny 1873 is very good. Do you sell your pennies? Just checked PCGS price guide and there are two varieties open three and closed three . Value depends on condition
I'm not a fan of being in such a hurry to satisfy my curiosity of what i find, that i may damage it further but rubbing sand / grit orer the surface and scratching / wearing it further than it already is. I have glass contaimers and ziplock bags i can drop a found object in and add enough water that it sloshes around and by the time i get home it's alot cleaner with out further wear. But i didn't find this, so finders can do whatever they please. ☆

The only problem is a 2024 zinc penny will do completely dissolved by 2035

It really impressive how those Lesche shovel’s really hold up to all of New Hampshire’s hard, rocky soil.
Nice hunt today Charlie.
Charlie's always a banger! I could watch him all day! :D
What a great mix of finds today. Really enjoyed the video 😊
Nice trip and detecting today. You definitely found a variety of relics on this Not Thursday. Thanks Charlie. Joyce❤️🙏🇺🇸
Nice finds, Charlie. Finding crotal bells never gets old. They're best if you can get them to ring again. 🛎🛎🛎
I like your shovel. Homemade, sturdy and solid. That will last along time. Can't find them like that in any store.
Nice hunt, Charlie! You really made some sweet finds on that day!

What do you do with this stuff? A peice of a bucket? Fun to watch... but what do you do with it?
My cat won't let me watch, lol. She is right in front of my screen trying to play with you

Nothing will find if not interested to that. Good luck.
Probably clearing a field and tossing the rocks along a fencerow.
Nate would be jealous
Curious about your machine. Why the Fisher versus other brands and models?
The F19 is a great relic machine. Simple, light and he knows how to use it very well.
I love my fisher machine as it loves jewelry
@@notdone1975 Yeah, nothing wrong with Fisher. I got a Teknetics, same company.
I have the Fisher 5, and I like light weight
The log is dead, but it’s still doing historical stuff
Nope ...its Friday 🤣‼️
😂😅
