Literally the entire reason I bought a 3d printer. Waiting for shipping on a super cheap part feels like such a waste. so instead I spent 200$ on a 3d printer and 40$ in filament and upgraded the printer to the point that I can easily produce 1$ parts in a matter of hours as opposed to days. I am just too impatient.

Awesome mentality. You actually typed "a $7 part that can be bought for a $1.50." That would make it a $1.50 part in my world. Anyway, that puller is the exact same style as an old Triumph 650cc clutch hub puller, and they are way more than either price you use. At least be halfway realistic if you are going to attempt being snarky.

@@hyperluminalreality1 You're missing the point. There's no snark in that comment, just commiseration/shared enthusiasm for a hobby. FWIW, his prices are pretty accurate too. If you search "motorcycle flywheel puller" on that river website you can find one for $8 with next day delivery included. I imagine if you look further afield with more patience you could find it much cheaper.

I know so little about engines, when that flywheel popped off I thought "Hey that's not an engine, that's a brushless electric motor....Why is Tony calling it an engine"
Then had to do some Google searching to find out motorcycle engines use a stator and permanent magnets on a flywheel (basically a brushless motor run in reverse to create AC current) that then gets rectified into DC to charge the battery instead of the all in one rotor style alternators you usually see in cars.
I'm sure this is common knowledge for most of you here...but I just learned it anyway.
