Personally, I really loved the first 2 seasons I think even today it really captures the essence of leaving home for the first time. That magically feeling of living in a dorm and being alone yet never alone for the first time in college. I thought the idea to cut her hair was a good and symbolic twist given that when it happened she was letting go of Ben. It also signified the start of her becoming her own person apart from Ben (her dumping HIM) and her Father (her choice to drop pre-med to peruse art). But hey I’m just a rando online !
