Elena lev was so cute doing her speech. I watched the pod cast she did recently and talking about her experience. I love cirque du soleil and discovering and blessed to see Algeria in 2008 and Saltimbanco in 2006. With my parents Cirque has inspired me with following my music dreams.

@@Bmatic your opinion is very much true. Its disgusting that these days you need to say „its only opinion“ to not get eaten alive by people who dont have any other hobbies.

So it was her?! I wasn’t a 100 percent sure but had a hunch! Really cute she must have been a teenager then and a star of her art! I have seen that tour when they stopped that year in Vienna and was in awe and a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil since then 🤩
I also loved Corteo with its Italian flair and Luzia. I also like O and Ka because I love when art and engineering go hand in hand like in those shows but the original production of Algeria will always be my favourite! I would love to see it live once more! I don’t care about the new version of Algeria…
The first 5 minutes say it all. It’s so great to see and hear classic cirque du Soleil. This show was perfect. Everyone! Acrobats/ artists, singers, musicians, technicians, artistic team, stage management, and the full production team behind the curtain, wardrobe, travel and lodging, catering, physio, front of house. The list is endless
It’s a master piece and every single member of the company was responsible for its perfection. As with all the cirque shows!
An absolute joy to re watch
I prefer Disney’s La Nouba.
Agree with your praise for this show, but i'm not sure i agree with 'as with all the cirque shows' - having seen a few decades worth of Cirque, at various venues around the world, I can say most sincerely I don't remember seeing anything as good as this particular run of Alegria.
@@Bmatic cool, but just to be clear: what I meant with ‘as with all cirque shows’ was that it takes a full company of people on the stage and off to make it how beautiful it is.

I’ve never seen cirque du soleil live. I first fell in love with music especially one on 34:00 then Google the entire playlist and then I saw the pieces of the show reinvented Alegria. Now I see the old version… genuine masterpiece. Absolute beauty. Thank you for this video.
Yes. In my view, this particular vintage was the best production & cast, of the most uplifting circus show ever devised.
Oh my god I always used to watch this show at my grandparents and I haven't done that in so long. It brings so many awsome memories back.
This is one of, if not the best, CdS videos out there. This particular cast, the singer in white & band had everything down so tight.

Wow this is really good quality. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who loves seeing different performances even if it's mostly the same performers. I've seen the DVDs so many times. Is that Elana Lev? If so she is so young, I thought it was someone else until she did the multiple hoola's at once.

@@Teremei I know, the DVD was recorded in 2001 and this is in 1997. I was confirming that the hula hoop artist in this video is also Elena Lev. She was 15 years here and on the DVD she was 19 years.

I love Russian Bars, for me the best act not only in Alegria but among all or others. The costumes, the music, the suspense everything makes this act spectacular, a real masterpiece. Too bad I never had the privilege to see it live. If you have more Russian Bars videos or live audios could you make them available?

私は、1996年に日本公演を観に行きました。 体操競技を始めたOlympicを夢みている息子を連れて観に行ったのですが、actorの素晴らしい演技は勿論ですがsinger👩🎤の魅力的な歌声に魅了されて… その後何度も足を運ぶことになりました。 先日27年ぶりとなった新しい演目を観て来ました。 2004にも日本で興行が有り… 今回小学生だった息子は38歳にも成長しました💦 そして彼の3人の娘たちへこの感動を伝えたくてまた家族で観に行きました。。 やっぱりこの感動は生で観なきゃ‼️ ❤❤❤ actorの皆さん有り難う御座いました。☆〜（ゝ。∂）nao☆彡

The Russian bars act is on my mind all the time, in this if Im not mistaken it looks like Ivan Saveliev was already on the act but he was so small ❤

I'm not aware of no names, + I saw Alegria in different locations with different main vocalists, but I always thought this particular dame nails it. If that is indeed Pierette Arseneau, she is majorly talented. I remember finding the CD slightly underwhelming ... tallies in with Pablo Velasquez comment about the singer on the CD being someone else, Francesca Gagnon I'm sure her singing on the CD was still v good ...but for me, the CD didn't quite capture these songs with as much feeling.
